Wasnt just Kosovo its was all of the former Yugoslavia a horrific war that saw mass ethnic cleansings, genocide and war with major collateral damage only stopping when NATO arrived under the command of Wesley Clark.

Ignorant? Gen. Wesley Clark graduated top of his class at west spoint, server 34 yrs in the US military. In that time he served in a frontline unit in Vietnam and was shot 4!!! times. Dispite being badly wounded he continued to lead his men in a counterattack against the vietcong and won. It almost killed him. He then went on to a very demanding postion as Commander of ALL Nato forces in Europe during the very turbulent time of the Cold War ending and successfuly lead the Balkans Campaign.

He prevented the Russians from gaining a foothold in the region.

He was forced to resign because he Challenged those clowns in Washington who were playing politics with his men and women under his command. He left his command with the full respect of everyone who served under his command.

I'll try not to give you some jackass response because I have met general Clark personally and have followed him for years -- so obviously I am not clueless about him. I served under his command in her Majesty's Royal Air Force Regiment as a forward air controller. General Clarks leadership in Kosovo got him the respect of everyone in NATO.

Yes when he took command of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) forces and forces deployed in Kosovo. So cjboog might not have good experience of the guy but I do. I think he would make a good politician in International affairs because he understands the world.

I understood what you meant by "served under...". Unless you served on his staff, you can't claim 'special knowledge' of the man. he is good at appearances/speeches. Experiance in that he lead all the Soldiers including myself for his time in NATO and the changes he made arnt him eveyones respect. "Not an effective leader of a winning war machine" apart from Operation Allied force which was a success and brought stability in the area when he was in command.
