agh!!! I have braces but when I got them (8 yrs. im 9 now) I was too young so I got a wire insted.its been 7 mouths  since I got them.but they dont hurt at all =) I cant wait to get a retainer!

yo i got my braces of last year of april and when i had braces i also had to wear an expander, spacers, and headgear...now all i have to do is wear a retainer every night for a few months and im done

Well I had conventional braces 3 years ago and it wasn't too painful but the ligatures would constantly fall and I would have to get them with the wire replaced, so I had to be careful what I had to eat. With the Damon braces I eat corn on the cob and many other things I couldn't while with conventional braces.

You know, they are not as bad as people say they are. Sure you do have discomfort like I had yesterday (brackets rub against your gums), but you cope. Focus on the reason why you have braces and that you will get them off at some point...Good luck in Janaury, let me know how you get on as I will still be in them with about another year or so to go.

well, not sure. I got them when I'm older as I had no money when I was younger. But I suppose when you are younger it is easier to move your teeth. Your teeth still moves no matter what age you are.

well the week after you get them they HURT!! when you eat but ever 6 weeks when they re wire them the couple days after that they hurt when you eat the worst is the beginning

not really; you have good and bad days. Depending on what ur Ortho does at the adjustments you will have pain for a few days, but it goes away.

$96/mth, but that depends on your length of treatment and ur Ortho. cost is about $5,000 depending on your insurance plan and how much work u have to get done.

how long does it take for the one on top, the one pushed back how long did it take to get in place? i have one that is like on top and right in the middle, and its pushed back just like yours.

i think less than 6 months, but I have to go back and look. It took five months for the tooth to move forward. from week 15 to week 36. June to November 2007.

You will be fine. Ur ortho decided which teeth goes. I dont think they will remove a canine. Braces hurts a little as ur teeth get used to the metal in your mouth, but before long u don't even know it is there. good luck.

I had my braces on this week, last monday the upper ones and 4 teeth removed (so I have 4 visible gaps at the side, also worried they wont close lol) and had the lower ones placed on wednesday...As off today it is a torture to eat and the cleansing, and the sides of the mouth are sored, but im sure I will be ok once the teeth removal wounds are healed and mouth gets used to braces....right??? lol

You know that gap that you said the dentist won't be able to close. Was it their before you got your braces? Because my Ortho took our 4 teeth and i have Gaps and now I am worried that their not going to be able to close them.

The lower gap is an extraction gap that was done to give the bottom space to move. I don't know how that will be closed. On the upper left, I had two teeth mising and there was a bridge there. It was sectioned so the braces could move the top teeth.
