  • oh my god jonny

  • I had to watch this interview about 10 times to trying to get the concept of what Thom was saying; I was distracted by his sexiness. ;)

  • Radiohead could make a number pop song or be like muse (eh....) if they wanted to, but they choose to stick to their roots and don't give in to the record company

  • i always thought that it's the internet that causes people to want to obtain their music via the internet. plenty of musicians use the internet as their medium for delivery... so, the internet it the cause of it all. bye-bye TV, bye-bye radio... hello W W W.

  • I liked all of Pablo, Honey...

  • His argument is a bit flawed though... People have access to buy all/any of the music they wish--on the internet. I agree that the record companies are fucked up and just looking to make money. But hey, that's the essence of capitalism; it exploits the bad in human nature.

I haven't bought a single radiohead album, and they're one of my favorite bands. The real reason people don't buy albums anymore is 1) because they don't have the money, and/or 2) they don't want to spend all it all on music

  • @lllcainlll If Radiohead is one of your favorite bands you should probably help out by actually BUYING their albums.

  • @ericmsandoval Yeah, your probably right. Though I'm not exactly sure what I'd be "helping out." I'd probably by the albums of those lesser known bands I love before Radiohead, to be honest; I think I'd be helping them out more. I damn sure can't afford to buy all the music I like, and I don't want to do without it...

  • @ericmsandoval: That's kind of hard to think about ethically when the band released "In Rainbows" for whatever price people were willing to pay. Ya' dig? XD

  • "I think the reason people circulate music so much on the net is that they can't get access to it any other way, because the radio is bullshit." HAHAHA. I love how straight forward Thom is.

  • "...you know, all these records, in the past, that had two good songs and ten rubbish ones..."

*a song from Pablo Honey comes in*

    OH THE IRONY

Radiohead are the shit though. Best band of all time if you ask me.

  • @kucharek01 ooh and there it is again :D

  • radio is BS... and the record industry is digging its own grave, good riddance indeed... good riddance to greedy bastards with fat pockets.

  • he's just got big hair

  • Lol I think his head is average, just bigger than Thom's.

  • At least he agrees with my opinion on the whole Record Industry thing. Unlike in the past, you had more than a few acts that were known and actually played well.

Now, it's either you have a hit which the majority hates and the others who love it constantly play it on the radio, making others go mad or you actually have an amazing band like Radiohead though from the past has a new message for the future of music artists:

    Make better music.

  • I will so pay for your cds I will donate to thom he is awsome ... donate ppl ! he might not need money but u pay for everything else and he is giving it for free.... :) so donate

  • i'll cheers that!

  • either way theyll still get money from you LOL

  • they have sold like 70 000 discboxes(inrainbows) so far...

  • You know they made more money from IR alone than the royalties from the other 6 album's they've released combined?

    Yeah, nice own goal ;)

  • furry muff NSiky, with this knowledge i retract my earlier comment (2 months ago) - never doubted em for a second.

    yup.

  • What do you mean by IR

  • Think about it.

  • In Rainbows.

  • oh jonny, u are so hot...

but seriously, i agree with what they are saying...true true

  • Ironic that they show the "Creep" clip after Jonny mentions albums with "2 good tracks and 10 rubbish ones"

  • Aye I found that funny too

  • same here :D.

  • @Meazum I don't like it when people slag of creep, it's a good song (READ THE REST OF THE COMMENT BEFORE YOU KILL ME!) I just think it's nowhere near as good as most of their other stuff, it's overplayed and it's a shame that it's the only song non-fans think of when they think of radiohead.

  • @hemorrhoidprime - was thinking exactly the same thing, and was about to check to see if any other comments hit on this point, and low and behold, the first one down :D

  • @hemorrhoidprime was about to say exactly the same thing and then saw this comment directly below :D

  • @hemorrhoidprime-haha i was just thinking that. oh pablo honey

  • The way the industry has changed has made it difficult for new bands to break in. Could you imagine Nine Inch Nails, Bjork or the lads here breaking in these days??

The Saul Williams project and Radiohead's new release is an interesting option. I believe these "free downloads" will pay for themselves because people will choose to support the artist.

After all Britney Spears is waiting in the wings to rape the world if the true artists starve

  • Strange but this is the first time I hear Jonny talk, ha

  • I officialy love Thom Yorke.

  • I love his attitude towards the industry. The radio is shit.

  • so do i, and i love how theyve made a big middle finger up at the record industry by releasing their new album the way they are

  • go you legends!

  • johnny looks like alex james! two of my favorite bands are radiohead and blur

  • It's not capitalism that is the problem with radio. It's the fact that it's an outdated medium for entertainment. It's dying because it can't compete with the other musical options out there. I hope it dies too, but it's not the fault of free exchange, it's an issue of advancement. Like the typewriter, bye bye.

  • Thom is spot on. I cant even remember the last tym i listened to the radio? The only one i consider listening to is radio 2. Comercial music is fuckin awfull!

  • Jonny is so amazing <3

  • no one ever talks to Phil

  • i've seen some good interviews with phil. there's definitely one on youtube.

  • @icantfindanamethis thats what've been commenting for such a long time, and no one has given me an answer.

  • thom is right on

  • whats wrong with the main singers eye

  • As a kid he had a paralysed left eye which was operated on a few times and apparently the last surgery he had was botched and now his eyelid is drooped and he's mostly blind in that eye.

Thom and Jonny and the rest of Radiohead seem to be one of the few talented and sane bands that do well nowadays.

  • How can you not know the name of radioheads lead singer????

  • thom is so right muisc on the radio is s**t
