Love this video. It illustrates the illusory nature of much of what we see around us. Often when we become "enlightened" our tall threatening structures come crumbling down, we see "success" for what it often is, and "bodily death" is no longer an enemy to be conquered. Standing on the crumbled remains of one's old externally-imposed reality, it is very empowering (the last scene). Thank you Disturbed.

All this shits happened and than God had to take away the one person he loved as family. I think his grandfather raised him or something. God is saying, "turn to me, return to me." and David replies You made me turn away.

the song is meant to empower you: no matter what trials and tribulations you go through, you need to find the strength in you to survive it.

you can see that with the band members getting hurt, and yet they're still playing unharmed in the end. the death of his grandfather was just an inspiration to the record

Here's a similar concept, I find it frustrating when people don't thank or acknowledge God for their blessings, but when something goes wrong He's the first to blame. e.g. world hunger, diseases, murder, etc

God doesn't want these things to happen to us, he wants us to walk closely with him and live a good life. However, he's not going to intervene if we go down the wrong path.

What you need to realize is that we bring pain and suffering on ourselves by having sinned. His grandfather then died, becoming an influence for this song. The other reason this song is made is because of many religious leaders's reaction to 9/11.
