Reading some of these posts it's obvious most people have never been to Afghanistan and never read a book about Afghanistan and/or the middle east. Saudi Arabia financed the Muj fighting USSR and ISI Pakistan trained the Muj. The US did contribute financially&w/ hi tec weapons. The ISI chose to give the majority of resources to the more extreme Muj because it's easier to manipulate devoutly religous types&they wanted them to do bloodwork in India while still having plausible deniability.

It looks very well when the soldiers are stationary, but it's the silhouettes that they really need to worry about. Have them try out different "lighter" colors to brighten up their silhouettes at a distance so they're not so distinguishable, but also not so bright where they stick out up close as well.

multicam is designed for work in multiple enviroments, but in the war, you must use the most accurate camo and multicam is not taht camo, if you want to camo in multyiple ambient you got any.

@halt661 It won't happen, because the Marine Corps' MARPAT design is, even said by US Army officials, a uniform that the Marines got right. It is out of this world, and works very well. The most important part is that they got it right the first time... They issued two uniforms, one woodland and one desert- they won't be changing it anytime soon.

The problem with the ACU is that they wanted it to work everywhere; a Jack of all trades, but a master of none. :)

South Korean Army uses the US Army uniform, only changing the ranks; but even the patches' placements are identical. ONly a matter of time until ACU is worldwide like the 6 color camo that the ACU replaced. A shame, I know.

I was in the Marine Corps in 2005, and I love the MARPAT uniforms, I believe that the Army should scrap it ALL, and start anew. I hope they do, and make it look good (Keeping the boots high and not ankle level like the Multicam option's), I'll be enlisting into the Army in a month or so; I hope they fix it quick :D

Good news for US Army get to wear Multicam instead of ACUPAT. Just make sure this digital camo doesn't get stolen or lost to enemy hands. The Taliban capture US ACUPAT, Woodland Marpat, Desert Marpat, Afghan Digital Desert Marpat, and Afghan Woodland Marapt. In some picture I see Iranian commandos wear ACUPAT, Desert Digital Camouflage, and Afghan Desert Digital Camouflage.

The layout of the blouse's pockets are not effictive, the IBA/IOTV rub agianst the neck, and trapsand, because the BDU's don't have mandarian? collars, and lastly, a problem I've had before with my CAP BDU's, they get faded sometimes, espically if you iron and starch them. The pattern itself is effective, just the layout sucks. A BDU styled like the ACU would be awesome, but that ain't going to happen.
