@sk8ter11122 i'd say forget the pop-shuvit for now and treat it more like a regular ollie. the pop for a kickflip should be straight downward or if anything it can be little tiny bit outward like a frontside shovit, but not much. you could also try jumping backward a little more when you pop up and jump. sometimes that helps because if you jump away from the kickflip a little, the board will end up flipping a little more in front of you, so you dont have to feel like you need to shovit

that usually means youre either not popping it before you flick or youre leaning back too much. if youre leaning back too much, when you flick, you might be actually kicking it away from you instead of just spinning the board under you. make sure youre bringing it up like an ollie and the main difference is that youre flicking it at the top of your ollie, if that makes sense.

make sure you ollie with it first, bring it up with you as if youre ollieing, keep your front foot off to the side so that when youre at the end of your ollie motion (when you slide your foot up the board) flick it out. this way you can lean to kickflip as high as you can ollie or at least almost as high

@mikebagel27 it just happens when you flip it off the nose more than the side, i dont think about doing it, it just happens, so no i dont do it on purpose. i used to practice kickflipping over decks, so it helps to clear things and gaps when you bone the nose downward. plus boning your kickflips or heelflips downward helps prevent it from mob flipping (when its angled upward) which looks really bad
