that rider kept pulling on the horses reins at the beginning. Thats a good technique if you wanna get bucked off! and its not very fair to the horse either. How would you like a bit stuck in your mouth and then on top a bratty kid pulling on your mouth? its not very fair to the horse!
Im trying to teach my brother how to ride and were going riding for a lesson lol i hope he dosent fall off :P and im showing him the video, and it worked thankyou!!!
@Andrea9514 i totaly agree with you on the body part however being that im 15 and ride a tabino stallion i do use bit and spurs but i only were spurs for show quality so there si nothing wrong with wereing spurs and bits
@Andrea9514 well i see were ur coming from and my mare loves me to death and if anyone hurt her id kill them but like i said i only use spurs for show looks i dont actualy use them and as for the bit i use a very soft one my horse dosnt even know its there but i guess we all have are own opinions
@silverwolf317 well i see were ur coming from and my mare loves me to death and if anyone hurt her id kill them but like i said i only use spurs for show looks i dont actualy use them and as for the bit i use a very soft one my horse dosnt even know its there but i guess we all have are own opinions
That is one of the most beautiul horses i have ever seen in my whole life! He has the most beautiful mane and he's a paint. I want a horse like that. I don't have any horses yet, but i will!(:
you ride how you ride and thats all there is to it. I dont ride without a bit, I personally dont have spurs, but i wouldn't hesitate to use them if i did. At the same time i want to learn to ride with only those cool neck things as well. Its personal opinion and choice, and thats all it will ever be. Lighten up and get over it.
Why must everyone critizisize, everyone is welcome to their opinion but be polite about it.The only reason she's pulling on the reins is too keep his head straight while she's walking around him. Her hands are fine while she is keeping him under a short rein, not everyone fusses over perfect position, especially in western.Unless u want her feet jabbing the horse constantly she has to keep her feet in more, and plus western boots have about an inch over the toe. Respect other people's knowledge.
ok time to pick the faults. 1. the person riding really needs to stop fiddeling with his mouth 2. she needs to fix her hands and 3 she needs to sit more forward and point her toes in oh yeah just one question why is she fiddeling with the horses mouth all the time
@starscreaml0ver I was never go at western and I always found way to make it a bad experience. I grew up with nasty rich girls who did jumpers and really pushed me to not like it. I pln on trying it this summer, i hope it goes okay.
please put the text in see through, im getting irritated at these kind of videos, the words mean nothing to a beginner, if it is supposed to be a video in order to make things clearer to understand, then please make sure it is a video. and not just text completely covering up the video it completely distroys the point of making it for beginners, so they may understand!!!, that is what the description box is for!! its not your fault if numpties dont know how to use youtube! lol
What does 'leg on' mean i took my horse out for my first hack out of the school he kept like tripping up, i was told to keep my leg on, i was i felt tight on him calf wise and giving him prompts to keep going, what was wrong???
Keep pressure on the horse's side as an aide. Just add more pressure to keep him moving. Be sure to relax your ankles so they don't hurt after a long hack and you'll be able to use your legs without getting tired.
So, this is more about horse balance and body mechanics -- not the rider. Nothing has been said about the rider and his/her posture, or how the rider should be in the saddle. This is hardly what I would call beginning riding instruction.
I do agree with tallyfolly half way. I do agree with her on your hfoot should not be flat is should be somewhat pointed and the other thing about spurs. I do not agree with her about the whole you need a new instructor thing.
your supposed to tap your horse with the spurs. lightly. if they dont respond, a little harder, until they do respond. and unless you use really really sharp pointy spurs and jab them with it you will not hurt the horse, they are way tougher than you give them credit for.

fuck off she isnt yamking on his mouth , softening his mouth , wat fucking shit are u smoking , u are a complete fuck wit if anything she is going to make him hard mouthed and fuck the horse up , if u had a piece of metal in ur mouth and someone was pulling on it would u fuckin relax , NO u would tell them to fuck off , same as a horse
Second - the toes pointing up are a necessity. You dont want to keep your feet flat. thats is plain wrong. I dont know who taught you that, please change instructor.
Third - the spurs are used to increase communication, not to jab the horse. and one of the reasons why your heels must stay down is to avoid accidentally jabbing the horse (apart from balance reasons). Please learn how to take advise or accept other people's view. If you are so bitter on Youtube, I cannot imagine what you are like around horses. Ciao and peace.
@breyerhorsegirl37 - mmmm, no, not really, if you wanted that you'd stick your feet all the way down into the stirrup. It really is for balance reason. The foot down gives an extra spring when you want to get back in balance. If you toe is down and heel is up, you cant push yourself back up, you are already strectched, so to speak. But please keep on using the heel down for not losing the stirrup, whatever works for you
Apparently you have no clue about horse and what is good/not good for them. My suggestion would be NOT to comment unless you know your subject. Try using proper english as well, this is a learning site, not a "brawl" sessioin...clean up the lanuage!
okay people she isnt yanking on the horses mouth for know reason. she is softening his mouth so that he will be more relaxed as shhe rides him, and if you dont know what your talking about dont say anything

Okay, first off. Spurs do not hurt you horse unless you don't use them properly. People that wear spurs lightly touch the horses sides, and just don't "dig" them into their bellies. Obviously you don't know how to ride because you're supposed to keep your heels down while riding. She wasn't yanking on the horses mouth either, she was trying to keep his head level and still.

First - she is not yanking. she is flexing the horse at the poll and she relaxes when the horse gives his head
