Glass Cage is one of my favorite albums. And I'm not even a huge piano listener. Mostly, I listen to progressive rock. I've heard other pianists doing this song, though, cause I was curious. To me, it's like comparing this version with the others I heard is like comparing a gentleman to a babum. Thanks again, Bruce, for your art. Thanks for that album, it really makes my life better. Walking Barcelona, or Leiden, listening to this is an experience I'll always hold dear.
he performs it with high precision, but i think it should be quite a bit faster. 20-30% faster, especially the louder parts. okay thats easy for me to say, i cant play it, but the recordings of this peace that i prefer are much faster.
@kurtilein3 I agree, fortunately we have Philip Glasse's recordings to know how he meant it to be played.Despite that, this is a good rendition.
I do think it's weird that he follows a somewhat slower tempo then all the sudden at 3:29 he breaks the original tempo. Musically it's not correct, still i don't care enough for those details to disregard his rendition.
