or we can just arm the teachers- they see a gunman, or someone who has a gun- especially someone who shouldn't be there- they take action. police would take at least 10 minutes to get there- and that's enough time to kill, well, more than ever needs to be shed.

I remember back when all we had to worry about was school bullies taking our lunch money or stuffing us into lockers- not blow our heads off!

In a high school that would be the best idea. Of course the teacher would be the shooter's first target, but the other teaches would hear the shots.

When I was 11 I used to walk with my rifle to the school's rifle range.
