the people commenting on this video are incredibly stupid. The plastic part on the dummy's neck moves because it's not secured on. It serves no purpose other than to just make the dummy seem more human. A human neck wouldn't just split like that. The dummy's head really didn't move at all, this car is incredibly safe compared to some i've seen.

you know a broken neck probably sucks but i would take that over most injury's that could happen in a car accident and im not an expert but i don't think that just because the plastic piece on the dummy's neck comes off that has to mean it broke it's neck it could just mean the person could suffer moderate neck injury . just saying worse thing's can happen in a car accident.

Those plastic necks are just there to cover up the wires that go to the sensors in the dummie's head, a human neck cannot split like that.

for you info, my parents bought a new civic in 2001 and it lasted us 90k miles with no outstanding problems and was still running okay at 130k miles when we sold it last year

My Car has NEVER been in the shop. My neighbor had a 2008 accord and just traded it in for a BASE malibu agreed his money went to a real car!

GM did some things that were questionable. But hey their products are top notch!!

It protects the head though, which is its main objective. Although I would hate glass in my face too, I think the crash is so fast you wouldn't really notice it. Maybe a cut on the face or two though.
