all christians ive ever seen go watch mass on a tv screen in a giant auditorium called a church . The catholics ive seen are always devoted to the faith.
Matthew 25:31-46 is a good passage to refer to when talking about pretend Christians. Though salvation is a free gift that requires no works, one cannot say they have God if they do wicked things. Those who claim they have God who murder do not have God. And it's not a good argument to say parts if the bible are wrong but parts are right. 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16. We can't ignore any part of Gods word.
Matthew 25:31-46 Read Jesus own words, not doctrines of Paul for establishing faith in hearts. you believe in Christ and get forgiveness for sins, born again as a new man live a righteous life, love other's as you love yourself. We are human, whenever realize you are sinned beg him for forgiveness and don do that sin again try harder to get away from it. Don't just say i believe in Christ and i can rape murder and plunder and i am still saved. Philippians 3:2 distort body of Christ.
Ok so what about the book of James 2:24 - Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Plus that whole chapter says that faith only will not get you into heaven.
christian is a general term that covers every religion that believes that jesus was the son of god. roman catholic is indeed christian. this video is very bias against roman catholics though, and every bible has something stupid that says that faith is what sends you to god and nothing else. the "christian" bible says that those without faith in god are stupid and cannot do anything right, yet this makes no sense as there are many atheists who do very well without believing in god.
as an atheist, could I be any more embarrassed for having to share the stage w/ these two assholes? They fight mankind, they fight each other. They fight love itself, if they should lose "control" of it.
@TheShel8777 I don't know whether you realized what you just said, but the simple fact is that it doesn't hold a spoon of beans to me when I see two denominations of the same Abrahamic traditions go at each other like common dogs. The only time you bums see eye to eye when you're both attacking muslims, gays, democrats, or atheists. If all the sinners disappear tomorrow, will you be any better for it? Why don't you try getting along with different people? I don't blame the innocent
@bryanttillman Sir, I know exactly what I said, you obviously don't care and didn't listen to what they were talking about. "Common dogs?" Sure.. that's not an insult. LOL Why O why don't the godless every use rational facts as to why they don't believe huh? As if insults carry weight to validate your unsubstantiated points. However, taking insults from someone of your vein, is something I must endure. So insult away. I apologize for my temper. Good evening..
@TheShel8777 I am not an animal, TheShel8777, I'm also not a number, I use my name. And I stand by it. I'm not your enemy. I'm not a sinner, either. I don't fear your god for two reasons: he does not exist, and he appears to be psychopathic in nature. Either way I don't think he's an issue in my scheme of things. I'm all for altruism and love...even for you. But you gotta dump the machine you carry on your back. You betted your existence on a diety you never met, or shown to others
@bryanttillman Your right Sir, you are NOT an animal, your very distinct from all other atheist who believe we come form apes, I hope your not my enemy, However the Bible teaches, Romans 3.23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Your unenlightened view or even MY view, doesn't change who God is. Also: Jesus told Thomas, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29 - NIV) (Cont)
@bryanttillman Cont.) God has chosen to stay cloaked, Other than his son Jesus, (for now) from the direct sight of man. God says man cannot look at him and be able to live. (Like standing 20 feet from the sun, so to speak) The view of God being "psychopathic" In nature is a grave distortion of TRUTH derived from pieces and fragments of scripture, NOT taken in the context as a whole in which they were said. There is no burden on my back good Sir, and the LOVE you are showing to me, Is "Biblical."
@TheShel8777 "You can't prove your point with insulting people with common sense?" I didn't know "common sense" was held to such regard. Do you see that lightsaber you generated? Try argueing with that.
@bryanttillman Perhaps next time you insult an entire religion with your godless dogma, you might consider people who strongly disagree with you to respond accordingly.
"Is your argument so weak that it cannot withstand debate?" - Data
They're BOTH wrong. We are saved by faith, but judged by works. Just because you're not in hell, doesn't mean you've been judged worthy to receive the fullness of all that the Father has to offer.
2 Corinthians 12:2
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
There is more than one "Heaven". The more worthy you are, the better your "heaven" is.
James 2:17 So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 Indeed someone might say, "You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.
We do not believe that works earns you salvation. We believe that if you truly do have faith, you will do works. If you do no works, you probably didn't have faith in the first place.
it's weird how some protestants seem to confuse christianity with protestantism. christianity is the religion. protestantism is just another branch of christianity, like catholicism.
maybe the poster of this video should read a bit about the things he posts....
why would you denies st peters church? He was the first pope! Jesus said to him "you are the rock on which my church will be built" You sir are a heretic!
It is always so wonderful to see supernaturalists bicker among themselves. All supernaturalists operate on fantasy, with no verifiable evidence whatever. And then they bicker among themselves, and have sometimes been known to murder each other, as they bicker about finde points of differences in their fantasies. If it weren't so incredibly sad, it would be so incredibly amusing.
The doctrine of sola fide or faith alone did not exist until the 17th Century. We as Catholics do not deny that faith in Christ grants eternal salvation, however, just as the disciples and the faithful for 1600 years prior to the Protestant Reformation professed, we profess salvation by faith and works. Neither one is justified without the other.
"What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." (James 22:14-17)
1 peter 3:15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with GENTLENESS and REVERENCE
Typical of protestant stupidity. Throw out all statements that talk about justification through works. Also, this video mis-states the Catholic position. It is through faith AND works. Not through works alone as this video states. The last statement about either faith or works in Revelation (20)say the sea gave up her dead, then Death and Hades gave up their dead. All the dead were judged according to their DEEDS.
@7propitious You are eventually correct about Catholic teaching. I've listened to some hate filled protestants that will even claim Catholics aren't Christians. Like those who deny Catholic are Christians they have never talked to a Priest let alone asked any Catholic what they were taught on this matter. I suggest the poster go directly to the source read what Jesus himself said himself on the matter Matthew 7:21-27 & 25:31-46. He can cut out the middlemen James and Paul.
OK Then. While I ponder further responses let me toss out a question. The subject: Sin. Mortal Vs Venial. The Catholic viewpoint: ~Mortal sins are Spiritually fatal. ~Venial sins can be worked off, sweated out or suffered for in Purgatory. M'kay. How can that be reconciled with this? Romans 14:23: "Whatever is not from faith is sin." Or this? James 2:10 "And whosoever shall keep the whole law, but offend in one point, is become guilty of all." There are no "Levels" of Sin. All Sin is fatal.
@hammerogod...Now we're talking! Your last sentence is the pivotal point in your argument because if all sin is fatal then there is no need for purgatory. And sir, I would certainly tip my hat to you. But the scriptural reality is completely the opposite of your "All sin is fatal" argument. If you believe in the Bible Alone then you should have no problem understanding 1 John 5:16-17.
Catholics do NOT believe salvation is earned thru works.
Sorry to burst you bubble, Rom 3:28 pertains to works of the law: the Jewish 613 item law.
Why didn't the author have the RCC character quote any of James?
Faith produces works, yes. But regardless of what the impetus is for doing good works, works are necessary. Faith is absolutely necessary in addition to works. THAT is the Catholic teaching.
@182RG: If he looked @ James, he'd have to accept its teachings. Then his man made religious would fall down around him. Then he'd have to turn to the one & only Church Jesus founded & not the ones that Luther, Henry VIII, or Calvin or Wesley founded. That would be too psychologically painful, so he clings to this reductionist fantasy of a little bites sized Christianity.
And lets not forget all those pesky little verses concerning judgement for good works - or lack of them. Matt 25:31-46, 1 Corinthians 3:11-15, Revelation 20:12-15, 2 Corinthians 5:10
@hammerogod...If there is "One Body of Believers" why are there 40,000 or so denominations in the U.S. with different interpretations of Sacred Scripture? Unity among the faithful was stressed by Christ himself (Jn 17:21). To maintain that unity Christ commissioned St. Peter and the Apostles to preach to all nations, while at the same time singling him out with authority. Such primacy is explicitly evident in Mt 10:1-4, 16:18-19, Mk 3:16, Lk 9:32, Jn 21:15-18, Acts 2:14-40.
And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
I am truly surprised that you don't already know and acknowledge this CORE DOCTRINE of Christianity.
I am also very troubled that you are, apparently, arguing against it.
@hammerogod <<<I have attended Worship service in almost every Christian Denomination and there is virtually no differences between them.
Friend, the services may be nearly identical, but I assure you, the beliefs and doctrine vary widely! This book is a good reference for that topic "World Christian Encyclopedia: A comparative survey of churches and religions" It's one to read at a library - it's rather expensive.
@182RG A recommendation deserves a recommendation in return. So I offer you "Papal Sin: Structures of Deceit" by Garry Wills I challenge you to read that. And a secondary challenge, read it with an open mind. The Doctrinal differences between the Lutheran, Baptist, Episcopal and Methodist regarding Salvation and the Nature of God are not worth putting on paper. The Pentacostals and the Assembly of God differ only slightly. The Seventh Day and Churches of Christ differ more. Not big news.
@hammerogod...And I recommend "The Salvation Controversy" by James Akin. The greatest virtue of this book is that it sheds light on semantics of Salvation that both Protestant and Catholics use. I won't lie to you. Jimmy Akin is a convert to Catholicism. But, he doesn't diminish or belittle his Protestant theological background. On the contrary, he is vey grateful to his former Church for laying the foundation of Christianity that he is now proud to be a part of. Pax Christi +
Ah Ha...now we have hit upon, by serendipitous means, the thrust of my questions and comments.
I am thinking about rejoining the Catholic church.
With the help of a number of God Fearing and God Loving men, and Women, I, during my Protestant foray, made deep inroads and discoveries about myself and God.
I feel I am ready, or nearly ready, to recommit myself to Christ within the Catholic framework.
I just read your latest post - how wonderful! And surprising as it seems that would be last thing any other nonCatholic poster would contemplate. I have just the person to recommend if you're looking for some 'net insight. If you haven't ran across his posts on YT, he goes by the moniker of Baldonebear. He is a former Protestant minister and theology prof turned Catholic and is very knowledgeable. I can't speak for him, but I do think he'd be happy to offer his insight. God Bless
@hammerogod...If your heart has opened up to the Catholic Church, then you came to the right guy. Here's my story in a nutshell. I come from a family with a strong devotion to the Catholic faith. But, I drifted away from my late teens to my early thirties. After being invited by some kind hearted Protestants to join their churches, I made it a goal to go back and re-learn my Catholic faith, and here I am. My channel will always be available for you. Pax Christi +
I so appreciate a recommendation from a credible author instead of someone of the likes of A. Rivera! But I already know some popes committed some grievous sins against God and humanity (though it's not as bad as the antiCatholics would have one
believe).
I believe that Jesus, by His choice of Judas in His own ministry, was preparing us for such betrayals of trust. Some say that in order to fulfill scripture, He had to be betrayed. I say God is Lord over scripture- not vise versa.
@QuangNokonoko...Roman Catholicism falls under one of the many rites practiced in true Christianity. Roman Catholics follow the Latin Rite. Greek Orthodoxy follows the Byzantine Rite. Lebanese Catholics follow the Maronite Rite. There are other liturgical rites practiced by other Apostolic Churches. Some are still in communion with the Bishop of Rome, some aren't. But, all of them carry on with the original deposit of faith handed by Christ to the Apostles. Pax Christi +
It baffles me that there are so many Christians who do not believe that Roman Catholics are also Christians. Catholicism is not a pagan religion, it is a Christian religion. Each, and every Christian faith stems from Roman Catholicism. If you're getting yourself hung up on slightly different interpretations of the bible and alienating those with slightly different views, then you're missing the entire point of what it means to be Christian.
@ResonantDiscord...Before October 31st, 1517 PROTESTANTS DID NOT EXIST and Christianity was truly universal (ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, APOSTOLIC) with one shepherd (The Pope) and one flock (Catholic Christians). Today, most non-Catholic Christians also ignore that Pope Damasus I presided over the Council of Rome in 382 A.D. in which THE CANON OF SCRIPTURE WAS SET, thereby presenting contemporary and future generations of Christians with that book we now call THE BIBLE.
Yes, Romans 3:28 is talking about deeds of the law. Which law? The Mosaic law. It's not talking about deeds as in "charity". Why? Because there were still some Jews who believed that only those who adhered to commandments of the Mosaic law (like circumsicion) would be able to achieve salvation. It's interesting, and very obvious, that CASSMAN777 does not mention James 2:24. It's the one verse in the entire Bible that tears down his argument. Pax Christi +
"It doesnt need to have ["faith alone"] in it because if you separate works from faith, then faith is alone by itself" You call this "simple logic" in your video... but actually thats an illogical conclusion.
If the word "faith" is without "works" it actually does not mean "faith alone" what it means is "faith"
So have a little faith in the church founded by Jesus Christ.
"And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
@adamantis4657 80 popes who oversaw the vicious Inquisition can't be wrong. How can you be holy when you haven't done the same? The church is perfect and cannot change, you know. So popes who had several children and married none of them, are your example, certainly. The popes called the Bible "a paper pope". So you can't actually read unless it is in Latin. You speak and read it, correct? Benedict brings molesting priests to hide them in the Vatican apartments. He is holy like you want to be?
You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me "Exodus 20:3-5" Mary Don't perform miracles only God Does
As Penance say 10 Our Fathers and 10 Hail Marys and say a good Act of Contrition and your sins will be Absolved, because you are better than Jesus and can pay for your sins by mumbling a few words you have said so many times you barely remember the meaning of them.
And if you don't mumble the words deary you will end up in Purgatory to finish paying, because, again, Jesus was not enough.
Or all your Sins are already paid for and only confession to God and Repentance is necessary.
@hammerogod...We Catholics DO NOT BELIEVE THAT we are better than Jesus or that his sacrifice wasn't enough. That's just your poor misunderstanding of Catholic theology. We believe exactly what St. Paul said in his letter to the Colossians 1:24.
@LatinRiteChristian Good. Then explain Purgatory. I grew up Catholic. If you think my understanding of Catholic Theology is poor you can think again. ~9 Years of Catholic Grade School. ~3 Years of Catholic High School. ~3 Years of Seminary. ~Mass 6 Days a week. ~Altar Boy ~Received every "Sacrament" except Extreme Unction and Holy Orders. Grew up in it, lived it, believed it, defended it. I can stun you unconscious with Catholic Theology. OK then...NOW explain Purgatory.
@hammerogod...You will never find the word "purgatory" in Sacred Scripture. Why? Because it comes from the Latin "Purgatorium", and we all know that Sacred Scripture was not written in Latin. However, just like the doctrine of the Trinity (From the Latin "trinitas") is inferred and supported by certain Biblical references (i.e. MT 28:19) even though the word Trinity isn't used, it is the same with Purgatory in..1 Cor 3:15...Rev 21:27...and of course, 2 Macc 12:46. Pax Christi +
@hammerogod...Our differences are bigger than what the concept of Purgatory means. I cited the verses of Scripture, but you said nothing to refute them. There is NO EVIDENCE, historical or biblical, that the Bible Alone was our sole rule of faith for the first 1,517 years A.D. Why? (1) There was no Bible until 382 A.D (2) Literacy is a recent global phenomena, so to think that the lay Christians of the 1st century cited verses of Scripture is downright ridiculous. Pax Christi +
@LatinRiteChristian We have much more ground to cover. Per angusta ad augusta Any refutations I offer will be thought-out. You in a hurry? I'm not. If not then stay with me on this, I will explain why later. OK. Claiming that the Roman Church was solely responsible for holding Christianity together pre-Gutenberg is a stretch. By the 1st century the Pauline letters & the Synoptics were available. There were other 'Christian' communal churches. Per fidem intrepidus, pro Deo et pro ecclesia
@hammerogod...First of all, I must complement you on your Latin. As far as the Pauline letters & Synoptics go, historical record acknowledges that the Canon of Sacred Scripture was not set until 382 A.D. at the Council of Rome presided by Pope Damasus I. Yes, there were other "Christian" communal churches, but many of them were in error (i.e. Arian heresy). BTW, I'm never in a hurry when it comes to carrying a dialogue with decent and educated folks like yourself. Pax Christi +
@hammerogod...I am showcasing a video on my channel's player specifically for you. It comes from the "Journey Home" program hosted by Marcus Grodi. His guest is none other than Dr. Scott Hahn. Dr. Hahn is an expert in scriptural studies from a Protestant perspective precisely because he used to be one. At the end of the video a lady calls and asks about purgatory. In the next video (5/6) Dr. Hahn offers the best explanation possible. +Pax Christi +
Here's how the operatives of the ROMAN CATHOLIC EMPIRE work.
In Europe a few hundred years ago, there was conflict between the catholics and the protestants in a city. There was strife and conflict until the catholics agreed to enter into discussions with the protestants to resolve the matter.
In the middle of the night the catholics murdered as many protestants in their beds as they could. They then got away with it, and that's how they've handled conflict ever since.
This is awful. If i want to say Hail Mary's fifty times - I will. And whoever you are that put this up, your thick - Catholics ARE Christians. Just because different CHRISTIAN denominations have different ways of doing things, doesnt mean they should be slated.
Sad, very sad. By painting your fellow Christian as pigheaded and arrogant, as totally rejecting the truth, as loving blindness and perversity for their own sake, as depraved and even wicked, even before Christ Himself in heaven, you reveal a hatred in your own heart that is deep and dark. What kind of religion would do this to you? This is not the peace that passes all understanding.
sorry but yer both just a bunch of Constantinian Christians...&..you've murdered each other for years...so your "example is worthless" & your "Faith" is just an Ego-trip...& neither one of you have anything to do with Jesus...cause you both believe that YOU TELL GOD WHAT TO DO & NOT THE other way around....
@ATHEISTS (A- WITHOUT) (THIEST-GOD) WITHOUT GOD! A MAN WITHOUT GOD IS JUST LIKE A CAR WITHOUT AN ENGINE. SO DONT BE PROUD TO BE A MAN- CREATURE WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGING HIS CREATOR.
JAMES 2:17-18 So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith.
WHO CREATED THIS VIDEO IS CLREALY PROTESTANT, AS IF ON THIS VIDEO CATHOLIC NEVER READ THE BIBLE! BY THE WAY SAINT JEROME WHO TRANSLATED THE BIBLE IS 100% CATHOLIC HE IS NOT A PROTESTANT
Roman Catholics are Christians. James 2:14-17 "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." Also see Jesus' words: Matthew 25:31-46. Peace.
jaja there is something called ''context'' and something called ''interpretation'' so if you have so much faith you should be able to do all ''inconsitencies'' of the bible The law is written on the heart. Conscience teaches right from wrong.
im neither catholic or christian, in fact i don't believe so much in bible
i just believe in god, people like you(video maker) are simple clowns who need to make videos like this because they don't have enough faith and they don't believe in they own words
I'm not Catholic, but faith without works is dead. James 2:20 For by grace are ye saved by faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast. For we are is workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. Eph. 2:8-10 No works in and of themselves will not save anyone but true faith produces good works. Just like faith without works is dead so works without faith are dead.
chatholics belive that to get grace from God you must have strong faith AND do good works...dang bro get ur facts straight befor you make these vid's. I was a chatholic and got converted to christian, and i see nothing wrong with catholicism exept that they pray to saints, but even at that they put God first wich is relevant to the first comandment, and they dont look at the saints as a type of gods, which is relevant to the second comandment.
@makeme141 We don't pray to saints. It's called intercession. We ask saints to pray to God on our behalf just like we ask friends or family to pray for us or someone in need. This also applies for prayers of thanksgiving, penance, etc.
Ha, This is a Protestant keyboard warrior fighting what HE thinks what Catholicism is.....Why would ANYONE listen to this crap!?!? Want to know why so many Protestant Evangelicals are converting to Catholicism? Because they know that the RCC is the TRUE Church established by Christ upon Peter [Matthew 16:18] Ya know, from 33AD to 1005AD, EVERYONE who professed to be a Christian was a CAPITOL-C Catholic, or 1% oriental Orthodox.Since 1005 to 1500AD, almost ever Was a Catholic or Orthodox.
1st, "Works of the Law" is the Torrah. 2nd, Catholics DON'T believe they earn salvation from good works. 3rd, James 2:24....read it and weep. Checkmate!
How does one live out their Faith? Through works/deeds. Catholics believe both are essential responses to God's grace (Faith AND Works).
Have a good day, living your life according to Luther's wonderland of fairy tails and brain farts.
@sweence-let Good prevail over the narrow mind that sees only superficial glittering.God is real,do you have the courage to test him and see if he is real, good etc. or do you wish to continue in your self deception, denial and arrogance.Even if one doesn't believe Jesus, but believe that his works were good, then he/she also will be saved.Such is the magnitude of God's love that you deny
Greek literature also uses it of a small stone that might be picked up and thrown.
What Jesus said to Peter could be translated, "You are Stone, and upon this bedrock I will build My church." His choice of words would indicate that the rock on which the church would be built was something other than Peter, which can only refer to the revelation given to Peter by the most high God,that is-Jesus is the Christ(messiah), the Son of the living God.
Though Peter’s name means rock (petros), Jesus did not say, "You are Peter (Petros), and upon this rock (petros-which accurately means a small unstable stone) I will build my church, instead he said you are peter(petros) and i shall build my church on this petra(meaning bedrock,or a large rock mass).
Peter’s name, Petros,is masculine in gender and refers to a boulder or a detached stone.
The first is that someone reading Matthew’s Gospel in Greek, the original language of the New Testament, would not have immediately concluded that Peter was the rock. In the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus said to Simon, "You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church" (Matthew 16:18), His choice of words was significant.
The Roman Catholic Church interprets Jesus here to say, "You are Peter, and upon you, Peter, I will build My church." Peter would be the rock upon which the Church would be built . He would be the "prince of all the apostles and visible head of the whole church."
There are several problems with this interpretation.
such brandings were less effective against prots, inorder to fulfill the prophecy of Jesus-"You are peter(petros-masculine noun in greek, meaning a small stone) and i shall build my church(non feminist protestantism) on this rock(petra-feminine noun in greek, meaning a large mass of rock, not the degrading dead body of peter buried under vatican as catholics claim/believe)and gates of hell(catholicism and oter false religions/ideologies) will not prevail over it".
So anybody who happens to be in tribulation period, want salvation he/she has to die as martyrs or get the mark of christ(144,000 people).
I understand catholics will be angered by this, but their anger is in vain because this is the truth and truth will triumph. Also note that throughout the centuries catholics branded(and still branding) all these groups as dualistic pagans heretics who need to be wiped out from face of earth...
The first half of this tribulation will be very prosperous, making people of earth deluded,it will be like a strong "wine' of delusion sent by god to people who rejected him.In the half of this 7 year period antichrist will break his agreement with jews and put up the awful horror inthe holy temple. He will require all to have number 666 imprinted on them to buy or sell. Those who get this mark of 666 are damned for eternal hell.
Animal and other sacrifices will be offered there in the rememberance of the ultimate sacrifice ofJesus Christ on the cross, just as it symbolized the coming sacrifice of christ in the old testament period. This will remain till coming of christ ( rapture) .
In rapture believers will be taken and hypocrites left behind to face great tribulation(such as never happened before or never will in the future) which will last for 7 years.
In future (after the soon coming WW3) they will unite as single god's church and all people living on earth will be it's members. The 3rd temple will be rebuilt in jerusalem and it shall be called "the house of prayer for people of all nations" exactly as Jesus predicted nearly 2000 years ago.
By 15th century printing was invented and bible became available to masses . They came to know about truth that catholic church was doing idolatry in the name of god . They revolted and it came to be known as protestant revolution and were led by many great leaders like jan hus,jan zizka, martin luther, ulrich zwigli, john calvin, john knox, john wesley and many others .Today protestants number more than 800 million .
But almost simultaneously, the spirit of God started 2 new christian movements in heart of catholicism itself~in italy and france . In italy they were called waldensians and in france they were called cathars .Cathars were wiped out in the 12th centutry by catholic crusaders~a mass murder popularly called as cathar/albinesian crusade (catholic church still take great pride in these crusades) .But italian waldensians continued inspite of severe catholic persecution and they remain to this day .
Both these groups came under heavy persecution from catholics because they dared to expose the truth of christ to them. Finally they were wiped out by catholic crusaders,en route to capture Jerusalem by a secret directive from vatican in 12th century, perhaps the real intention of antichristians(catholics) for taking up crusades was to wipe out true christian like paulcians and bogomils who exposed their idolatry and lies.
.But few like followers of mani ~ Manichean's (mani was a 2nd century apostle of jesus whose followers spread from persia to balkans in the west and to china in the east, before falling into oblivion probably because of islamic conquest) remained true to the gospel of christ.
Later they spread to turkey and balkans where they were called paulicians and bogomils respectively. They were behind the iconoclastic movement of 7-8th century
Thus when constantine gave christianity special status in his empire, idolatry also entered along with it in the unsuspecting name of "intercession to saints".This soon spread to most of the church, because such was the influence of roman empire at that time.
This came to be known as "intercession/veneration to saints" and is still practiced by catholic and orthodox 'christians'.True christians like gothic arian christians,donatists(n.africa,s.europe),manichaens(middle east,,central asia) opposed this practice, but catholics branded them heretics and massacred them.Iconoclastic movement of (7th-8th century) century was against this practice, later protestant revolution (15-16th century) was waged mainly against this practice.
When Constantine gave chritianity a special status in his empire inorder to conolidate the diminishing power of his government because of the fastly increasing christian minority that was spread throughout the Roman empire., majority in his empire was still pagan and they found it hard to forgo of their old idolatrous practices. So the state changed the names of their old idols to "christian" names and continued to use them in prayer/worship .
.But through the council of nicae roman catholics spread lies about arian christians, claiming that they believed Jesus was a created being and branded them heretics, when in reality they only taught that God the father was superior to son Jesus which is infact 100% biblical. This caused the decline of true christianity. In the same fashion catholics branded other groups as heretics like donatists, manichaens, paulicians, bogomils, cathars, waldensians and finally protestants.
Romans at that time gave special previlages to franks for accepting the corrupted catholic religion. But soon other germanic people goths, vandals conquered Italy spain etc and spread true christianity in those regions. It was the eastern goths(ostrogoths) who founded the nation of Italy as a true gothic arian christian nation.
So the state changed the names of their old idols to "christian" names and continued to use them in prayer/worship . This came to be known as "intercession/veneration to saints" and is still practiced by catholic and orthodox 'christians'.True christians like gothic arian christians,donatists(n.africa,s.europe),manichaens(middle east,,central asia) opposed this practice, but catholics branded them heretics and massacred them
.In the same fashion catholics branded other groups as heretics like donatists, manichaens, paulicians, bogomils, cathars, waldensians and finally protestants.

Most of the germanic people except the franks initially accepted true arian christianity instead of catholicism which was corrupted by idolatry. It was 100s of years after that these groups became catholics.
Romans at that time gave special previlages to franks for accepting the corrupted catholic religion. But soon other germanic people goths, vandals conquered Italy spain etc and spread true christianity in those regions.
.Through the edict of milan, thessalonica and council of nicae what they did was not toleration for christianity, but to create a new fake religion in the name of Jesus,in which they integrated the ancient roman idolatry as the practice of intercession to saints. Many christians at that time were against this. Some of them were arian christians who rejected this idolatrous practice of intercession to saints.
Later in 4th century Constantine the then roman emperor gave Christianity a special status in his empire, inorder to conolidate the diminishing power of his goverment because of the fastly increasing christian minority that was spread throughout the Roman empire.
Protestant revolution was not the origin of protestantism. The first protestant church was the apostolic church. (the church depicted in new testament do not pray to "saints" or use statues\images in prayer worship.) Thus it was protestant in essence.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches unbiblical doctorines like the Age of Accountability and celebrates Pagan holidays Like Christmas and Easter Also pray to Saints and Mary which is completely unbiblical.
@Mcstroke57 The Hail Mary is in Luke. And that prayer comes before the Our Father. Silly PROTESTant. The Catholic Church is the One True Church founded by Jesus Christ. It is the only one that is one in belief, Holy, founded by Christ, Catholic or universal teachings, Apostolic , traces teaches from the original Apostles
faith alone is not perfect logic.. .In Revelations it says a "everyone was judged According to their workds" notice how it fails to says "faith alone"
In MATTHEW 25; 31-46, Christ clearly states that faith alone is not enough to inherit eternal life. Caring for those less fortunate is caring for Christ Himself. Caring is an act. When the Apostles were given the Holy Spirit they began Christ's ministry on Earth. The book is called "ACTS of the Apostles"... Any more moronic reasons to justify the barbaric schism and the King that turned his back on the Church because he wanted multiple wives? Keep snake charming and speaking in fake tongues.+
Dude, even faith needs evidence (Js. 2) if we are to work out our salvation (Philippians 2:12-13). You need to make a distinction between justification (initial salvation) and salvation proper, which is the whole life lived in Christ. Otherwise, you are espousing something called "antinomianism" which says we do not have to obey God's commands to be saved. As a Protestant, I also think your Catholic caricature is unfair.
How do you reconcile the book of Hebrews which teaches Christ died once for all, and that to turn back from and repudiate the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice in favor of daily sacrifices or indeed any religious system of regular ritual or propitiatory sacrifice for sins as nothing less than apostasy, with the Roman Catholic mass?
You haven't answered my question. How do you reconcile Christ's sacrifice which was complete and eternally sufficient, through which we have been sanctified through the offering of His body once for all (Hebrews 9:12, 26, 28; 10:10), with any requirement that it is necessary to repeat or continue Christ's sacrifice for the propitiation of sins and to fully accomplish redemption (CCC, 1068, 1365, 1367)?
James 2 verse 4 My brother, what good is it for someone to say that he has faith if his actions do not prove it? ( you read the rest). You extremely narrow minded and simple with no depth, all you people do is condemn Catholics shame on you.
most catholics don't read the bible, and don't follow its teachings. they just do as the vatican tells them. just another cult. they really aren't christians. a christian would follow the teachings of christ not some man on earth who lives in a palace
@Pillzee1500 You Protestant sectarians are just a bunch of rebel Catholics who invented your own man-made doctrines which has never been believed by early Christians. If you consider Catholics a cult, then you are an even worse cult. Orthodox Christianity has never changed doctrine and follows the teachings of Christ.

Philippians 3:2 distort body of Christ.

christian is a general term that covers every religion that believes that jesus was the son of god. roman catholic is indeed christian. this video is very bias against roman catholics though, and every bible has something stupid that says that faith is what sends you to god and nothing else. the "christian" bible says that those without faith in god are stupid and cannot do anything right, yet this makes no sense as there are many atheists who do very well without believing in god.

182RG 1 month ago
@182RG: If he looked @ James, he'd have to accept its teachings. Then his man made religious would fall down around him. Then he'd have to turn to the one & only Church Jesus founded & not the ones that Luther, Henry VIII, or Calvin or Wesley founded. That would be too psychologically painful, so he clings to this reductionist fantasy of a little bites sized Christianity.

Catholics misunderstand and misuse the term "Catholic".
The term "Catholic" means "All Inclusive" (ie Available to Everyone).
"ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, APOSTOLIC" means "One Body of Believers, Holy because Christ is Holy, Available to Everyone, delivered to the Apostles".
The term "Church" means "Believers & Family of Christ".
Jesus gave Authority to ALL of the Apostles, not just Peter.
Mark 16:15
"And he said to THEM: Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
hammerogod 1 month ago
@hammerogod...If there is "One Body of Believers" why are there 40,000 or so denominations in the U.S. with different interpretations of Sacred Scripture? Unity among the faithful was stressed by Christ himself (Jn 17:21). To maintain that unity Christ commissioned St. Peter and the Apostles to preach to all nations, while at the same time singling him out with authority. Such primacy is explicitly evident in Mt 10:1-4, 16:18-19, Mk 3:16, Lk 9:32, Jn 21:15-18, Acts 2:14-40.

Yes, there are many "Denominations" but that is a foundational element of Christianity that was supported by both Peter and Paul.
Paul addressed his letter to "The Church that meets in 'so and so's home".
I have attended Worship service in almost every Christian Denomination and there is virtually no differences between them.
The only noticeable differences are how comfortable the Pews are and what the Preacher wears.
Otherwise they are identical in all Scriptural aspects.

ResonantDiscord 1 month ago
@ResonantDiscord...Before October 31st, 1517 PROTESTANTS DID NOT EXIST and Christianity was truly universal (ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, APOSTOLIC) with one shepherd (The Pope) and one flock (Catholic Christians). Today, most non-Catholic Christians also ignore that Pope Damasus I presided over the Council of Rome in 382 A.D. in which THE CANON OF SCRIPTURE WAS SET, thereby presenting contemporary and future generations of Christians with that book we now call THE BIBLE.
LatinRiteChristian 1 month ago

The bible contradicts itself on this issue many times. As an Atheist I find it pretty funny when Christians argue which one is right.

chatholics belive that to get grace from God you must have strong faith AND do good works...dang bro get ur facts straight befor you make these vid's. I was a chatholic and got converted to christian, and i see nothing wrong with catholicism exept that they pray to saints, but even at that they put God first wich is relevant to the first comandment, and they dont look at the saints as a type of gods, which is relevant to the second comandment.
makeme141 3 months ago
@makeme141 We don't pray to saints. It's called intercession. We ask saints to pray to God on our behalf just like we ask friends or family to pray for us or someone in need. This also applies for prayers of thanksgiving, penance, etc.

ChooseEternalLife 3 months ago
Though Peter’s name means rock (petros), Jesus did not say, "You are Peter (Petros), and upon this rock (petros-which accurately means a small unstable stone) I will build my church, instead he said you are peter(petros) and i shall build my church on this petra(meaning bedrock,or a large rock mass).
Peter’s name, Petros,is masculine in gender and refers to a boulder or a detached stone.
ChooseEternalLife 3 months ago
The first is that someone reading Matthew’s Gospel in Greek, the original language of the New Testament, would not have immediately concluded that Peter was the rock. In the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus said to Simon, "You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church" (Matthew 16:18), His choice of words was significant.
ChooseEternalLife 3 months ago
The Roman Catholic Church interprets Jesus here to say, "You are Peter, and upon you, Peter, I will build My church." Peter would be the rock upon which the Church would be built . He would be the "prince of all the apostles and visible head of the whole church."
There are several problems with this interpretation.
ChooseEternalLife 3 months ago
such brandings were less effective against prots, inorder to fulfill the prophecy of Jesus-"You are peter(petros-masculine noun in greek, meaning a small stone) and i shall build my church(non feminist protestantism) on this rock(petra-feminine noun in greek, meaning a large mass of rock, not the degrading dead body of peter buried under vatican as catholics claim/believe)and gates of hell(catholicism and oter false religions/ideologies) will not prevail over it".

ChooseEternalLife 3 months ago
Both these groups came under heavy persecution from catholics because they dared to expose the truth of christ to them. Finally they were wiped out by catholic crusaders,en route to capture Jerusalem by a secret directive from vatican in 12th century, perhaps the real intention of antichristians(catholics) for taking up crusades was to wipe out true christian like paulcians and bogomils who exposed their idolatry and lies.
