@lovesickheroine in fact it is elena's fault. if she wasnt so reluctant to sacrifice only bonnie, damon wouldnt be too desperate to make her drink his blood and then regret, so he wouldnt try to stop the ritual by saving the vampire and the werewolf, and you know the rest. elena caused 4 people's death that night, and caused stefan ending up in a very deadly situation with klaus.
