  • these are awesome images and film clips - it kills me how some people say the US Gov didn't go out of their way to save people...

  • Dissapointed not to see Animals being saved.

  • The rescue of the dog in the video was amazing? We had to hover next to a second floor porch and the dog had to jump into the cargo compartment. He was rewarded with about four packs of penut butter crackers and a bottle of water!

  • wow. amazing job you guys, we really appriciate your support. i like the dog, hehe licking your face.

  • what unit were you with?

  • Are you from Billings? My dad knows a dude who took a Huey up there.

  • I'm from down south, Georgia.

  • muy bueno, excelente!!

  • I think UH-1 is no longer service with US Army.

  • The Army still has around 50 UH-1's still flying!

  • :) thanks, an understanding person :D, ur american i gather?

  • nope

  • Anyone who says that there wasnt enuff done to save ppl in Katrina are dead wrong- for gosh sake the Army would send a chopper to rescue a single person on a roof top. All that time, fuel, and effort spent to rescue a single person is worth it!

  • Which medevac det. are you with? You know Jim Brennan?

  • Yep, I've known Old Irish for a long time. We are in the same unit!

  • Good man. I know he's retiring soon. Shame. Hey, when you gonna come down and join us at the hanger with the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation. You know we need you guys. Our Huey's are gonna be around for a LONG time.

  • Some time in the near future when I'm not so busy I would like to come down and get involved.

When the Army retires the Huey, I might retire with them!

  • Outstanding. Hustle yourself on down here most ricky tick and get your hands dirty.

  • I'm with a Regional Training Brigade out of Florida. We teach all classes that come down from TRADOC.

  • I'm teaching a Medevac class next Saturday(Nov 3rd), I would love to show this video as my lead in. I'm having a difficult time saving it to thumb drive. My class is for the Florida National Guard. Any help would be great.

  • these are some awesome, inspiring pictures that show people at their best

  • Go to google dot com and check out the new UH-1Y model. It looks aweseome.

  • good stuff and good work

  • Awesome .. this video, and the work they done .. just great.

  • Army UH-1 Residual Fleet has around 700 UH-1s

  • What millitary branch are you in? Because I know the Army doesnt fly the Huey. But the Marines do...

  • Georgia Army National Guard. There are still a few Army units flying the Huey H and V models.

  • O, so I wonder if those are the Huey's that the Mechanic would work on. (job # 15m , UH-1 Repairer)
