She was a vocal phenomenon. In the past century only Ponselle and Sutherland were blessed with comparable vocal organs (a combination of beauty, size, range, and agility). Farrell was almost completely ignored by the classical record companies -- a half dozen recitals and 2 complete operas. Imagine a recoding of Norma with her!
