Everybody is a product of their culture and unfortunately all cultures are ignorant so people are ignorant. There will never be an understanding among people because quite frankly we each don't want to understand we are the creators of our problems, essentially man is a hazard to man. So we call each other racial epithets, and say my system and view, is better than yours and work to kill and denigrate each other. Our consciousness (thinking) is divided so we stay divided.
If these children really are in the "inner-city," as the prinicipal claims, Rap probably won't be their first bit of exposure to hood life. If they decide to hustle, they're probably doing it because of the numerous examples in their neighborhood. Yes, Rap sometimes has repulsive images and can use too many four-letter words, but I seriously doubt that someone will become a crack dealer, thief, or pimp based on a Rap song.
Rap critics aren't taking Rap to task for the right reasons.
Dame I use to respect the tough way you did your thing, But you and Cam(the blow hard punk) Made us look bad as African american men. People don't respect what we are and what we accomplish, because of interviews like this. And you let week Ass Bill O'Reilly take you there.

All those rappers care about is making money. they dont give A SHIT about the effects of their music. as long as they are driving ferraris and bentleys they DONT CARE>
Both of them have no clue what the principal is trying to explain. They both act like children and try to justify it, it's sad that the youth are not exposed to more intelligent role models and ideas. Both Damon and Cam'ron are very ignorant and stay very true to popular "stereotypes".
@4mjustin Money is money.Fuck that bullshit. When it comes to babies needing' diapers, milk, and clothes, light bills being paid, and mortgage being paid.....I'ma rap that shit, too.
@brandisman23 So for a million dollars would you rap about blowing up kids over a bangin beat? It seems we pattern ourselves so much to be like the devils who enslaved our parents. The nigga mind must die if we are to ever become liberated from the children of our slave masters.
@4mjustin I agree whole heartily that's why fox news puts these ignorant Negros on to satisfy white supremacy psychological operations. LONG LIVE GOSPEL RAP NATION
@jhawkmoney93 The only sense he is making is the contribution to his pockets. Furthermore we have had more then enough gangsta rap artist expressing the same crap about our environment. What we need to teach our kids is the importance of legacy and stop making our children start out in life on a shoe string. Black people are still slave minded today which is an "I got mines get yours" mentality.
Cam'ron was extremely ignorant & childish; Black men are already looked down on and the one chance he gets to defend himself he blows it off and chuckles like a retard.. I lost a lot of respect for him as a human being.... and P.S. fuck Bill O'Reilly
If a person's actions are questioned, it IS NOT reasonable to point at those who are just as bad, but haven't "gotten in trouble".
This is what an elementary school student does. Teacher asks, "Ben, why did you steal this from me?" Ben replies, "Well, the other students cheat on tests."
It's not taking responsibility for one's OWN actions.
@DanPrinMan Exactly, like the principal pointing the finger to gangsta rap saying its the artists that are causing kids to act up or misbehave. Or the parents blaming music, movies, or video games for their child's actions. Wait a minute, everybody does that. Nobody takes responsibility for themselves and in this case it not Cam'Ron its mainly the parents fault. Blaming the wrong people looking for a scapegoat
You've made a point, but you've missed mine. It's been proven over and over again that what people listen to and watch affects behavior. To say it doesn't is pure ignorance...or worse.
CamRon doesn't realize that what he raps about...no matter how real it is, negatively affects youth. He fails to take responsibility for it. Instead he and his buddy try to defer the focus on them and onto someone else
If everyone took responsibility for their own actions, the world would be better.
@DanPrinMan I understand what you were trying to get through. Yea it is a fact that TV, movies, video games or music does can have an affect on behavior. But it is not the producer of these things to raise kids, that is the job of the parents. If a parent lets the TV raise their kid yea they are gonna act what they see or hear. It boils down to the parents and them taking responsibility and not scapegoating something. Which is just like you said, the world would be better
@DanPrinMan That is why explicit musical content requires parental advisory in order to listen to it. That is why video games filled with violence and nudity has a mature rating and only people 17 years of age and older can buy the game. That is why we have movies with violence and nudity rated R... so that kids cant watch it without PARENTS if they are under the age of 17. It always comes back to the parents responsibility when it comes to these things.
Can't say I disagree. But this does not mean it is right for anyone to produce "explicit" content. Everyone knows kids will find a way to watch it without their parent's consent - parents can't control every facet of a child's life, eventually they'll have to make choices for themselves.
Can you at least agree that IF there wasn't "explicit" material in music, movies, internet, etc, then there wouldn't be this problem?
@DanPrinMan Yes I agree with you. I also agree that there are a lot bigger issues in our world such as kids being obese because of all these fast food restaurants we have. After all, obesity is one of the leading causes of death in our nation.
@DanPrinMan I agree that Cam'ron and others in the industry don't fully understand how how much influence they really have, and so they justify it by using the parents.
But at the same time, the parents and people, like this principal, are using Cam'ron and the industry as an excuse for their own shortcomings and like you said, if everyone took responsibility for their own actions, the world would be better.
Anyone can say what they want, but I was listening to gangster rap back when it was still popular and a little today, but still I graduated college and have a job. The influence of parents is huge and these ultra conservatives are letting Hollywood pass because it is not minority dominated like rap is. Maybe some slap Hollywood on the wrist, but they'll never attack Hollywood like they attack rap. Just like Hollywood has positive messages so does rap. That being said Cam'Ron is an idiot.
@MrGio7388 I agree on your thoughts. I speak on this issue all the time on my radio podcast. I conduct violence prevention rallies for kids victimized by gang violence. In L.A I promote Gospel Rap Nation change the lyrics of rap changes the behavior patterns of kids.
@MrGio7388 I agree that parents are an influence but the problem is they aren't always sending a positive message. This doesn't absolve rappers from creating and perpetuating a negative lifestyle.
maybe i'm just being overly sensitive... I dont think that rap music is a bad thing at all. Been listening to it since birth and now I have an MBA. I don't say that thinking i'm better than anyone, just as a point that rap music does not hold our culture back from attaining anything. In fact, I would argue that it does the complete opposite... Interesting program to say the least though. Nice post WarLordX
I hate the way these two explained themselves. Some of yall think they did a good job, but quite honestly they didn't. If they went about this interview respectfully it would have been great. But the way Cam talked to the principal was uncalled for. I mean, it was "funny" i guess, but if you see the circumstances it was simply a (for lack of "better" words) "nigger show"...White ppl who watch fox news simply got to laugh at "the educated black man" fighting the "street entrepreneur black man"
Stop fucking blaming hip hop for your kids action!!! Its the fucking parents who let it happen. Is camron or ludacris living in your home telling your kids to do what their doing. Didn't think so... these adults need to stop blaming others for the children's behavior.
you, the parents and everyone else that believe hip hop is the biggest negative influence on kids of today are absolutely ridiculous. Hip hop for me is an escape from the negativity and it's an amazing way for me to relax and forget about the fucked up environment I'm in. Parents need to take responsibility and stop using rap as a scapegoat. Shitty parenting and peer pressure has done more damage in a day then hip hops ever done..
I wonder when people will stop targeting the rappers about what they say, and start coming at the parents who dont monitor their children? I could've sworn these CD's have PARENTAL ADVISORY STAMPS ON THE CASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This conversation was a waste of time. I would like for these two brothers to be interviewed by Farrakhan. The church of Satan is real and these are his examples.
did you people see the damon making the free masonery sign (the triangle which symbolizes the pyramid and the 'all seeing eyes' ,of cuorse he works for rockerfeller satanic family

@4mjustin I agree whole heartily that's why fox news puts these ignorant Negros on to satisfy white supremacy psychological operations. LONG LIVE GOSPEL RAP NATION

jhawkmoney93 1 month ago 2

BOutBurstBoy 2 months ago
If a person's actions are questioned, it IS NOT reasonable to point at those who are just as bad, but haven't "gotten in trouble".
This is what an elementary school student does. Teacher asks, "Ben, why did you steal this from me?" Ben replies, "Well, the other students cheat on tests."
It's not taking responsibility for one's OWN actions.
Grow up CamRon.
DanPrinMan 2 months ago
@DanPrinMan Exactly, like the principal pointing the finger to gangsta rap saying its the artists that are causing kids to act up or misbehave. Or the parents blaming music, movies, or video games for their child's actions. Wait a minute, everybody does that. Nobody takes responsibility for themselves and in this case it not Cam'Ron its mainly the parents fault. Blaming the wrong people looking for a scapegoat
goddy5890 2 months ago
@goddy5890
DanPrinMan 2 months ago
@DanPrinMan I understand what you were trying to get through. Yea it is a fact that TV, movies, video games or music does can have an affect on behavior. But it is not the producer of these things to raise kids, that is the job of the parents. If a parent lets the TV raise their kid yea they are gonna act what they see or hear. It boils down to the parents and them taking responsibility and not scapegoating something. Which is just like you said, the world would be better
goddy5890 2 months ago
@DanPrinMan That is why explicit musical content requires parental advisory in order to listen to it. That is why video games filled with violence and nudity has a mature rating and only people 17 years of age and older can buy the game. That is why we have movies with violence and nudity rated R... so that kids cant watch it without PARENTS if they are under the age of 17. It always comes back to the parents responsibility when it comes to these things.
chesschampion94 2 months ago
@chesschampion94
DanPrinMan 2 months ago
@DanPrinMan Yes I agree with you. I also agree that there are a lot bigger issues in our world such as kids being obese because of all these fast food restaurants we have. After all, obesity is one of the leading causes of death in our nation.
chesschampion94 2 months ago
@DanPrinMan I agree that Cam'ron and others in the industry don't fully understand how how much influence they really have, and so they justify it by using the parents.
But at the same time, the parents and people, like this principal, are using Cam'ron and the industry as an excuse for their own shortcomings and like you said, if everyone took responsibility for their own actions, the world would be better.
puckSHOCK 2 months ago 2

BigPreacha1 1 month ago
@MrGio7388 I agree that parents are an influence but the problem is they aren't always sending a positive message. This doesn't absolve rappers from creating and perpetuating a negative lifestyle.

maybe i'm just being overly sensitive... I dont think that rap music is a bad thing at all. Been listening to it since birth and now I have an MBA. I don't say that thinking i'm better than anyone, just as a point that rap music does not hold our culture back from attaining anything. In fact, I would argue that it does the complete opposite... Interesting program to say the least though. Nice post WarLordX
jayballa21 2 months ago
I hate the way these two explained themselves. Some of yall think they did a good job, but quite honestly they didn't. If they went about this interview respectfully it would have been great. But the way Cam talked to the principal was uncalled for. I mean, it was "funny" i guess, but if you see the circumstances it was simply a (for lack of "better" words) "nigger show"...White ppl who watch fox news simply got to laugh at "the educated black man" fighting the "street entrepreneur black man"

you, the parents and everyone else that believe hip hop is the biggest negative influence on kids of today are absolutely ridiculous. Hip hop for me is an escape from the negativity and it's an amazing way for me to relax and forget about the fucked up environment I'm in. Parents need to take responsibility and stop using rap as a scapegoat. Shitty parenting and peer pressure has done more damage in a day then hip hops ever done..
