It's nice that the founder of Exidy made some of the games freely available at the MAMEdev website too. Sadly, not Venture, but a couple up are ones that were planned for CV, but never ported or released back in the day. It's funny how many of the games advertised on the back of the CV box were never released.
a great system with a lot of great memories of the early 80s i grew up on this system and played venture like crazy . i was sad when the system phase out after only 2 to 3 years. i wish i had mine still another great game was zaxxon and mr do
I knew it, I knew I saw this commercial before, it's in a news report about the CES in 1982, showing the ColecoVision booth and we can see two screens, one displaying Donkey Kong ready to play and another screen showing ads... this commercial in fact.
Search for "ces 1982" in youtube, you should find the video I'm talking about.
By using a GBA-compatible flash cartridge and an emulator program called Cologne, which converts a ColecoVision ROM file into a GBA-compatible ROM file.

That barbarian's name is Winky? With a name like that he'd better be a badass.

I played the arcade version a bit, and there's different music for each of the rooms (even across boards).

I had a coleco back in the day, and I rented Venture from the local video rental place. Good times!
Regardless of what your opinion is of Colecovision or Exidy's Venture, this is a pretty good commercial.

Sitting that close to a 1980-something TV would fry your brain!

Wow. I can't believe how much better this version is than the Atari 2600 version I had. I didn't know anyone who had a Colecovision, though.

And amazingly, Coleco didn't screw up the Atari and Inty ports *too* bad. They had a nasty history...
