This is legal in collegiate wrestling because it's taken from the side. Unless you're belly-to-back you can arch in your throws. You better do your cleans in the gym if you want to pull this off though, especially if you're a big guy. In the speed of a match, technique is never perfect and sweaty bodies slip, so it'll take some power to get this done.

this is awesome...and as a sidenote im a BJJ guy with two pieces of info 1.never try and choke a wrestler out their necks are too muscled and it takes more effort and time than on e could afford in a real time situation

2. Neither BJJ nor wrestling are easy if u think they are try it and see if it doesnt change your whole perspective on the sport

It's easy to get cocky with BJJ when you learn a choke and start thinking you could take anyone out, but it's not true and to be a great wrestler it takes real commitment and character. It gives you a whole new sense of what tough is. The rules are what makes each sport great. BTW I'm pretty sure you'll get called for this in folkstyle, you can't take your opponent over the top, but I've also seen a lot of stuff slide when it shouldn't have. It's 5 points in international rules though.

Great instructional clip. Kolat makes it look way too easy. Gnarly arch. For all you haters out there, get over it. BJJ and wrestling are way different. I've done both for most of my life and have a different approach to both. It was only when I got away from some bad BJJ habits that I became a more technically sound wrestler, and then going back to BJJ matches or even street fights I had much better sense of position and control while still being aware of submissions.

Everybody is freaking out over styles. A BJJ guy would most likely lose a wrestling tournament, and a wrestling would most likely lose a BJJ tournament. They both are legit in their own right. Let's face it, if you want to submit a guy you need to be able to wrestle and take them down, and if you want to be able to end the fight you better know BJJ and submit them. If you really want to get good at fighting you better train both of them.
