I believe this footage was taped on the night John Lennon was murdered. Stevie knew this but decided to continue the show. At the end of the show Stevie informed the audiance about this tragic event. They didn't know of it because internet, twitter and so didn't excist.

I was lucky to see Stevie perform the same show around April/May 1981 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He also performed Let's get Serious.
