Of my god! I finally f*ck*ng did it! (Am I allowed to say that?)
The trick is really just to now when to switch to which weapon and when to turn on autoaim.. Gotta have full health after the humvees. First with V-ring, second with V-ring auto aim, third and fourth with smoke grenades and then the frogs, the first 2 with MK.2 and the rest with auto aim, then stun grenades down the alley-stairs... When I did it like that I had almost full health and could redo it over and over :)
Realistically it took me about 15-20 tries on the second part and closer to 30-40 on the third. Just be patient and you will learn where they spawn. I just got it done took me about 4 hours. Have Fun!!!

i am a metal gear pro, have made every difficulty in all the other games, but this bike scene frustrated me so much. I wasted 20 hours of my livetime with this holy crap

@mannyack4tori V-rings: nonlethal ammo you can use with a shotgun (and you can get a 1 handed shotgun). I'm not sure where you find the ammo (I think you can find some in boss fights) but you can buy it all on a lower difficulty and then continue off that file on your bbe run.
@FellipeSNK If you save with less than full life then do what he said, when you reload you'll have full life. But rather than following his directions, you can set your ps3's date forwards a couple weeks after the file was saved and Snake will get his life back without worrying about any installing.

@yucky1336 I actually just finished and got the Big Boss Emblem last night, and the Bike chase was definitely the hardest part of the whole game to do without lethal weapons. The bosses were all kind of annoying, because I wanted to get the BB Emblem on a new game run, so I was without the M82-A2 (which I normally use for almost every boss) until Act 4 when I typed the password in Hal's office that gets you 100,000 Drebin points. Also I can't believe the trick you can use on Crying Wolf.

the bike chase and shadow moses with the tiny gekkos. then the last fight scene liquid ocelot is tough without using a healing item. possible but hard. i'm going by the 2nd most difficult level.
@TheSAQOA this part is what i'm dreading myself. i beaten the game on the 2nd hardest difficulty level and this scene gave me the most trouble passing it. what's the point of this scene if its hard as hell doing it.got lucky passing it on the 2nd most difficulty level. so big boss extreme would make it more damage done to snake can't buy tranq or other non-lethal rounds. might as well just let snake go around sneaking.
@SKAMPSON Yeah it's horrible, just keep doing it and try to perfect the timing, and you'll make it eventually. One little tip for when they jump over all the jeeps: I stayed in auto aim and when the bike landed and stopped I seemed to take less damage than previous attempts without auto aim. I shot 1 or 2 with auto aim and then quickly threw some stun grenades and just kept throwing till the cutscene.
Unless you're as good as rayver12ftw, there is a one out of 90 chances you'll beat this, meaning: after 90 attempts you'll beat it. It's all Probability really. Don't give up. --Much thanks DMR!-

i'm going to need help straight after you go under those two flying humvees. Shooting frogs everywhere doesn't really seem to do the trick. I really have the urge to RPG them! So any other suggestions other than 'pray and spray'?
u can hit one with the swan off and quickly change over to the trank gun and shot the other frog the sawn off is the key to this part if you dont have it then it will make it alot harder.
at the 6:50 mark, I throw a smoke grenade and shoot one of the turret guys with the twin barrel v ring, so if the smoke grenade doesn't land perfectly you shouldn't lose as much health. and around the 7 minute area a somewhat succesful strategy that I have used is to spam smoke grenades. but throw them so that they release smoke right when your driving over them, that should mess up a lot of the frogs when they are shooting at you. Try it out and let me know how it worked for you.

Also, when I finally completed the 2nd half of the bike chase I was really nervous since it has being raining over here for the whole week with some lightning and when I finally got pass the final alley with the 5 Frogs a lightning stroke and my voltage safer peeked and I was really scared at the moment that the power might go off before I could save, luckly it wasn't so and I could save and beat Raven in 20 seconds with the Railgun with 3 lucky shots XD
For HP recovery I just lay down a bit on the stairs, Raven can't attack neither her minions so with a good Psy I got my HP back in about 40secs (faster than reinstalling chapters, and 40s mean nothing to the total time).
spent about an hour and a half doing this bit! ARGH! very annoying! Glad I'm past it now though... oh btw I think your health regain 'trick' about changing chapters doesn't work, I think the health comes back if you just don't play for a day or two (ofc you can just change the ps3 clock and that will count :P)
First of all, the whole bounce a grenade off the wall in the opening of the second area works wonders (thx), I spent forever trying to time it to keep the flippin stun grenade between all of the guys.
But for the most part I found smoke grenades to be more useful. Especially colored grenades (if it's a multi-playthrough save) because it doesn't effect your ability to see and hear. I pretty much spam threw green or blue smoke except for a few areas.
Turns out you can. It's much much better then the tranq because it's semi automatic. And you don't need to charge it in order to put someone down since non lethal weapons are amplified during the bike chase. Problem is, you'll probably run out of energy right when you get to the last part so you'll need to use traqs, stuns, and v-rings the rest of the way.
V-rings are non lethal ammo for the shotgun, and I was talking about the solar gun which is unlocked by getting getting all five statues in the game. It's really useful in this area if you don't charge it and just shoot normally.

At the slow-mo part I have seen people use auto aim. It's extremely useful and you won't take as near as much damage as you usally would.

save the game then exit.. go to your ps3 setting time and date.. forward the date 5 days.. and voila.. full heath and psyche.. :)

If you save for each section and then set your PS3 date to one week ahead (for every section) you will get full health for each section.

For HP recovery I just lay down a bit on the stairs, Raven can't attack neither her minions so with a good Psy I got my HP back in about 40secs (faster than reinstalling chapters, and 40s mean nothing to the total time).

spent about an hour and a half doing this bit! ARGH! very annoying! Glad I'm past it now though... oh btw I think your health regain 'trick' about changing chapters doesn't work, I think the health comes back if you just don't play for a day or two (ofc you can just change the ps3 clock and that will count :P)

I know this is a year later, but why not?
First of all, the whole bounce a grenade off the wall in the opening of the second area works wonders (thx), I spent forever trying to time it to keep the flippin stun grenade between all of the guys.
But for the most part I found smoke grenades to be more useful. Especially colored grenades (if it's a multi-playthrough save) because it doesn't effect your ability to see and hear. I pretty much spam threw green or blue smoke except for a few areas.

Turns out you can. It's much much better then the tranq because it's semi automatic. And you don't need to charge it in order to put someone down since non lethal weapons are amplified during the bike chase. Problem is, you'll probably run out of energy right when you get to the last part so you'll need to use traqs, stuns, and v-rings the rest of the way.

No it doesn't. You can only use it up once during the bike chase. After that, it's over. I know, I've tried.

V-rings are non lethal ammo for the shotgun, and I was talking about the solar gun which is unlocked by getting getting all five statues in the game. It's really useful in this area if you don't charge it and just shoot normally.

Humvees have .50 Caliber bullets they do allot of damage you should tranq-them first they are priority.
the FROG's who are latched onto walls shoot at you the most not every frog shoots at you its mostly the ones who are standing still.
