Lets be honest, these guys are doing this much better than the remaining Doors were doing after their reunion. Should I choose between the original old Doors guys and this band I would choose these guys definitely. Simply because they do it better. I do not want to listen Ray to play a new keyboard machine just for a reason to be in. I want to listen the Doors music as it was before.
@ddraguti I've seen Manzarek-Krieger (as doors of the 21st century) twice and it was pathetic to be honest.. as a hugeeee Doors fan, they should not have performed a single song after the death of Morrison.. it was basically The Manzarek Show when i went there.. he was acting cool, cursing John Densmore for not taking part of the sad little reunion they have going on, and ruining every song with overplayed time consumingly ugly keyboard solo's.. Wish i could see these guys
@KerouacBukowskiEllis Yes pathetic is the real word.I respect each Doors member,I love them ,but as I say,I simply cannot listen how Ray is playing that fucking machine,he is off the game and unable to do it with dignity anymore.I also agree that they have ruined their songs performing it the way they did.I don't know what has been going on lately but I truly hope they have stopped with performing.Btw I am sure John would have been with them too if not his tinitus.Let be honest with this.
This is excellent. Nobodys doors cover comes close to the quality of this. This guy looks alot like Jim. I would go see these guys play live in a heartbeat. The rest of the doors should pick up this singer and go on tour. His voice is identical.
I must've been that pissed last time i saw this.... looked in my favourites and there it was, thinking it WAS the doors hehehe. Fair play to the guys, damn good music!!
Waaaay better than any Elvis imitator, this guy's vocals are so in the pocket that it's almost...better?..than the average real video of Jim careening through the good blues stuff of the Doors.
These guys are so awesome live, you can close your eyes and believe you ar at a Doors concert. On top of that they are really nice guys too, I've known Dave Brock for 12 years!
Singer doesn't give Jim's big voice-cracking scream at end of "Changeling" first verse, shies away from it (as Jim did mostly live, drunk etc.)...Guitarist needs a real SG and power-fuzz, drummer lacks Densmore's tribal pounding, organist so-so...YET I'd have dug it to have seen Wild Child...
Of course the organist is just "so so" compared to Manzarek, he's the master. However, as a whole, I have never heard a better tribute to The Doors than these guys- absolutely incredible!
Yeah, David Brock is the best Morrison impersonator around. He sounds just like Jim, and he resembles Jim more than any other impersonator. I remember going to a Wild Child show back in 1988. Brock is still going strong.
I disagree. And the original Wild Child with Brock back in the late eighties and into the nineties was even better. And I have personally heard Manzarek and Krieger say that they love Wild Child as well.
They're good. Unfortunately it looks like almost every Doors tribute is called Wild Child. I found at least five others while looking for more vids of these guys.
I hope you are right because a Doors tribute band called Wild Child is playing the Little Fox Theatre in Redwood City California at the end of the month and I hope its these guys. Not those guys from Vegas.
no 1, not even me can do morrison better. and ive been told im dead on. no way, this guy is bad ass. he should be fronting the doors instead of ian astbury.
R.I.P. James Douglas Morrison a.k.a. THE LIZARD KING, MR MOJO RISIN. today is the 37th anniversary of his death, and tonight we'll pay tribute to our American Poet at the Whisky a go-go, and what better way than wild child playing.
P.S. Dave Brook is awesome!!! just close your eyes at their show, and you can see jim singing like the old times at the whisky!!!
...The Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet. I'm ashamed to say that I've actually performed there.. What a shit hole gig that is!...Where's Wild Child's guitarist Mike Langland? He is a monster player...
i cant believe you said that i was just thinking how accurate his voice was listen to the original and then listen to this again what the hell are u talking about do u have ears man listen its one of the best ive heard thats very accurate i would even goes as far as to say he was singing over his voice that he wasnt even singing the song listen, jesus what are u talking about
Who ever they get to sing, they'll always be compared to Jim and in reality they are replacing him. So why not go with the best thats available, if he's available. I guess and this is only me, if I were to go see ROTS, I want it to be as close to the original as possible. And I did see them in 1970. Thanks for you comments.
yeah Dave Brock has it down. People say I sound like Morrison and I listen to this guy and say well maybe a little but this guy.. he has the sound down.
I played the track on L.A. Woman and this together and its almost pin point perfect except for the parts when Jim yells, but every voice is different but i have to say he is fucking great.
Whats wrong this video stops at 01:02 ? Who ever this guys is, someone needs to introduce him to Ray and Robbie. If they used him in Riders on the Storm, I would definitely go see them. He's not Jim, no one will ever be, but damn he's good.
ray and robby know him very well. morrison's sister, anne morrison graham, hand-picked him in the early eighties to portray morrison in a series of stage plays which never took off, but he pursued the interest. ray, robby and the late danny sugarman consider Wild Child the best Doors tribute band, period.
my guess: ray and robby don't want a replacement for morrison. hiring a vocalist so specifically similar to morrison isn't their plan, which is why they've employed professionals with authentic and proven-successful styles who can't necessarily be compared to morrison. (this isn't to say brock isn't the greatest -- just that he's very much deliberately patterned himself after morrison.) ultimately, of course, i really don't know.
Not bad , but he couldnt do Jim's screams, Jim Morrison's screams in that song are works of art, go listen to the original and turn the volume up very very high. Incredible.
That was very good, who ever the singer was he sounded a lot like Jim and he looked like him quite a bit. Great job man, I think Jim Morrison would of have been proud of you. Congrats man keep it up. I'm a huge Doors fan.
