People just want to feel okay eating meat. I love meat and dairy but I know I will die in my 60s like the rest of my family. There is tones of scientific evidence that shows what meat and dairy does to the body. You can't deny statistics. The Okinawa people are the longest living people in the world because they eat a plant based diet. They do eat small amounts of pork for flavour but that is basically it. I wish people wouldn't say nasty things in their comments. I can't stand fanatici
When you get to hard with a diet, finally stres will take care of you, there is nothing like meet from Brazil once or twice a month, it wont kill me...I asure you.
I say let's stop worrying about if meat or veg are better for us and start worrying about what we all agree on. Refine foods are the enemy. When you go shopping you are voting in a way. So buy things you feel are healthy for you.
How do you explain the isolated societies that eat meat and plants and do quite well? Your agenda sounds very political. Also, what do you have to say about different ethnicities that eat meat and do fine and then switch to our western diet? Its the sugar and grains you moron.
I would say the smart thing to do is choose your meats wisely. Eat only grass fed meats and free range produced eggs. I would be willing to bet the excess sugar consumption is the real culprit. They never mention that in these studies. Its always meat vs. plants. Both are needed. What is not needed is added sugars. Cut out sodas and sweeteners and table sugar. You will thrive on both meat and plants.
@howzaou812 They talk about refined foods, sugars, processed foods. It is all the same. Eating meat and animal products is bad for your health, proven fact.
@741Dave There are some major holes in the China Study so be careful about over interpreting the data. I'll say it over and over..Sugar and refined foods are the enemy. Meat and plants are both fine. Just in the correct amounts and the best quality of each.
@howzaou812 You couldn't possibly be more wrong, and there are plenty of other studies to back that up. Spend some time 'with' Dr Esselstyn, Dr Ornish, Dr Barnard, Dr McDougall, and the hundreds of studies by many other peer-reviewed studies that CONLUSIVELY show meat and animal products are BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH. Not to mention the environmental and socio-economic disaster that occurs with the production of animal products. We already know the cure for MANY diseases, but lies sustain us.
@741Dave The sources you listed are diet gurus trying to sell people their products and are not to be trusted. Even Ornish admits that his diet does nothing until he changed it to low carb. It's the low carb diet that has the positive correlation and not the vegetarian diet. The 2011 meta study has concluded that there is no problem with eat animal products. They say that excessive amounts of iron is the correlation.
you are saying meat is not bad but the process foods and sugar are the real culprit. well, as a personal experience for being vegan for 9 months now. the only major change I made is getting rid of animals. I actually eat more sugar than used to. but I still feel much much better than used to. so as a personal experimenter on this, I really dont think sugar and processed foods are the only culprit but the animal flesh is also one of the biggest enemies.
and most of the research Ive done do support that plant based diet is really healthy. its coming from the world cancer research center and American Dietetic Association and many other places. do research and see for yourself.
@howzaou812 How can you say that sugar and refined foods are the real culprits and exclude meat when the studies (scientific proof) show proteins from animal products (i.e. casein) induce negative health affects? Sugar and refined foods do this also, but you can't neglect the evidence presented on animal products. Even if the animals eat plants, they process the proteins in the plants and create different proteins in their bodies, so grass fed-or not, the proteins produced are very similar.
@howzaou812 Campbell is a sham. He fails to disclose that cancer and diabetes occurred in older patients. The vegetarian diet was killing off people at a young age so they never got to live long enough for cancer to occur. He also fails to acknowledge that the strongest correlation with cancer occurred with certain plants.
Ugh, when will people learn? There are some good ideas here, and you will definitely be 1xxxx healthier than if you follow the absurd food pyramid, BUT there is nothing wrong with having meat in your diet.. You just need to eat grass-fed organic meats that are natural like we were created to eat. 99% of the meat in this country is fed a corn/GMO soy diet and is completely unhealthy for us. If you eat the natural stuff, it's very nutritious!!
@justjoshin2006 More and more studies are showing all animal products are potentially detrimental to your health and vegans have the longest average life span of any group. Fact. Thanks for watching.
@741Dave Funny, you say 'fact' a lot but I can't find any proof to suggest that vegans have the longest life span of any group. You'd also have to specifically name the other groups you're talking about so we know you're not lumping mainstream, unhealthy Americans in with health-conscious omnivorous people. My family has no heart disease, no cancer, no diabetes. We all live to be in our 90s or over 100. Good genes? Hell yes, but we don't eat much shitty processed foods either. Bingo.
@leavantgarage Then you didn't look (for fact). Look at the chance of heart attack or stroke with vegans - almost NONE. Your case is not 99% of people, and it also doesn't mean you won't drop dead tomorrow. Good luck with that.
Vegan diets seem to stablize our bodies. My family is living proof - I lost a few pounds when I went vegan, my wife gained a few (she is pretty thin, so she is very happy with current weight), and my mom lost about 20 pounds - and she feels great (she is 73 now and in very good health)..
@741Dave So true... we always heard about people losing weight on a vegan diet but the opposite is also true! Before goind vegan I was really weak and skinny... and I gained 20 pounds (muscle of course) in about 6 months with no weigth training, only swimming! But I ate alot of calories and train harder than most people would be willing to!
further to my comment my diet i figure gives me about 30 gms protein a day. it appears that maybe there was some research done on vegan lifestyle and it prooved the point it works. some politician probably didn't like this and sat down and changed the balanced diet to 4 food groups. why ? imagine the dairy industry cattle industry, poultry,or chicken,
i don't even consume eggs or cheese . if everyone did this which politician would stay in office. And the commoditys market ????

Most people don't eat enough saturated fat. People should saute their vegetables in loads of butter and eat a lot of fatty bacon along with it. Long live saturated fat!
@741Dave Man has been eating animal fat (saturated fat) since the dawn of time whereas cigarettes are only a recent invention. Your analogy makes no sense (assuming you are serious and not joking). There has never been a vegan society in the history of man. Even the Chinese eat animal products most would cringe at such as jelly fish, fish eyeballs, and dog testicles.
@BachScholar I will do what is good and right for the planet and all beings, I will not try to rationalize everything so I can do what I want. GO VEGAN! "So convenient a thing it is to be a reasonable creature, since it enables one to find or make a reason for everything one has a mind to do." Benjamin Franklin (vegetarian)
@goofyreligion3 And more and more McDonalds go up and meat and crap (corn) just gets cheaper while vegetables & fruits get more expensive (subsidies), so you really think people's diet got BETTER even though they were being told? Have you seen the average American nightly meal? ALL BEIGE & BROWN. Pizza, taters, fries, pasta, meat, chicken nuggets...ughhhh.
@goofyreligion3 I didn't argue that a lot of undesirable fats is good OR is not good, of any kind. You insinuated Omegas/fats could not be obtained naturally and healthy, and I disagree 100%.
@goofyreligion3 Better than just eating anything, but don't fool yourself for one second - if everyone ate like that then local farm would just be factory farm/same difference. UNSUSTAINABLE. Going veg best for all of us. See article "Can the US go organic without going vegetarian?"
"The World According to Monsanto" "The Future of Food" "Food Matters" "Food, Inc" HBO's documentary "Death on a Factory Farm" ; Read the United Nation's report, "Livestock's Long Shadow" or the Smithsonian Institute's estimates that on average 5-7 football fields of rainforest are being cut down for more cattle ranching.
"the Smithsonian Institute's estimates that on average 5-7 football fields of rainforest are being cut down EVERY DAY for more cattle ranching." ...sorry, missed the 'every day' thing.
Then you try to follow the other articles that cite that article (likely the other articles say that the study was crap), and you need a subsription to read any more or other opinion. It is not a good unbias source for info nor opposing opinion.
@goofyreligion3 I quoted the posted articles, take out the spaces if you want to check. I can find no consensus nor statement that anyone says animal products are GOOD for you, that is FOR SURE. I agree, corn-fed cows BAD idea. E.Coli nightmare. Stop corn subsidies, if people were paying any attention to the miscarriage of justice in food and food production.
@goofyreligion3 Well, there is also the whole question of what GMOs are doing to us and such products such as high fructose, etc. We need safe, clean food, produced with respect to the planet, to animals, and to sustainability. Meat & animal products are dirty and not sustainable, too many 'side effects' - so, I am morally all set with animal products, until the day I die (and I have pretty good statistical chance of living a good long life, being vegan and all).
@goofyreligion3 Yes, there are at least 2 theories on that, too. Yes humans cannot digest cellulose. Finally a known truth, provable fact! hsph.harvard.edu/ nutritionsource/ what-should-you-eat/ fats-and-cholesterol/ HSPH contradicts you, so until you post your university website, you are wasting your time.
Canola oil does not increase lipid peroxidation: sci.tech-archive. net/Archive/sci. med.nutrition /2005-07/msg00034.html "As to the oil itself, I gather it much depends on how it's processed (refined vs. unrefined)"
sci.tech-archive. net/Archive/ sci.med.nutrition/2005-06/msg01159.html "though my claim is that too many foods are classified as 'saturated fat,' some of which are very healthy, like coconut oil, whereas others are very unhealthy, like a fried steak, or possibly fried eggs." Hmmm...even the guy who kind of agrees with you says animal products are bad for you.
And most of the others are polyunsaturated, which is NOT that bad and saturated or trans fat MUCH worse. I would not eat fish in the current water it swims in, fish farms, Mercury, Pfisteria, etc - sorry - you eat it, NOT ME! I'm all set, thanks.
@goofyreligion3 Out of your mind. What do you have to gain by mistruths? Links to diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer wellestablished. You need to go argue with many scientists and universities and the ADA, not with me. People can check the facts for themselves. You are completely insane.
@goofyreligion3 Great veg sources of fatty acids (Omega 3) Canola oil, English walnuts, Flax oil, Flax seed (ground), Hemp beverages (hemp "milk"), Hemp oil, Hemp seed / hemp nut (ground), Olive oil, Leafy green vegetables (small amounts, but a good omega-3 to omega-6 ratio), Pumpkin seeds, Soybeans, Soybean oil. And fatty acids Omega 6 are plentiful in seeds and nuts. Please stick with facts.
@goofyreligion3 Totally wrong. Check the ADA, Harvard, Cornell, The National Cancer Institue, and like 400 independent studies that say VEG IS BEST FOR ALL OF US. Stop the propaganda and mistruths! Check the facts!
@goofyreligion3 I will not take your word for it, no offense. That will need to be scientifically shown to me, like everything else. I do eat some soy products, but am more of a nuts and beans type, and considering the planet, rainforest, disease, antibiotic resistance, the pesticides (more in animal farming, yes there is), the pollution, the manure lagoons...
the hormones and other chemicals, the E.Coli and Salmonella, the Pfisteria, the cruelty, the inefficiency (can feed like triple the amount of people on the grain it takes to make one meat meal), the excess water consumption (again, inefficient), the science of animal products and their affect on our health...I can keep going if you need me to, but that is enough for me to change my life. GO VEG, help EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY!
'nut and bean' type. YES, I know soy is a legume...but I knew what I meant! (I was thinking more peanut, cashew, black beans, chickpeas, etc...anyways...oops)
@goofyreligion3 LOL. You are out of your mind. I think people should check the facts for themselves. I can't really speak about raw milk vs not raw, but I know for sure that all forms of milk have been shown to have higher rates of cancer, especially breast, and higher rates of osteoporosis. I know in many studies not having anything to do with the China Study that both heart disease and IDDM (insulin dependent diabetes) was improved in almost every single case when the person changed...
...to a whole foods plant-based diet, and in some cases the disease virtually disappeared! I know of many vegan athletes like Carl Lewis or John Salley or Mac Danzig or Georges Laraque or Paul Chetirkin (may have spelled that wrong) will tell you they never felt better. I also know that incidences of colon cancer are significantly and unquestionably reduced with a whole foods plant-based diet. None of this is based at all on the China study. Check the National Cancer Institue & many others.
@goofyreligion3 Untrue. Possibly 2 different books? Have read the data. Several universities involved. Watch for propaganda...well known that things like milk aren't all that they say it is.
With the China Study that Campbell wrote, he also fails to mention the county of Tuoli - a group of Chinese people who have one of the lowest rates of cancer and heart disease (as well as low cholesterol) yet they consume the highest amounts of meat, fat and dairy of any province. Their rates were far healthier than almost vegetarian provinces. Why on earth would Campbell leave that out? Oh YES, because it disproves everything he stands for! Go check the original study for yourselves!
@Eyecandy4u Skewed fact in relation to overall population and study. Not the only study available, either. Truth is beginning to bear through the propaganda of clean fields and healthy 'animal' eating. We have been lied to. Coming from an ex-McDonald's addict- the thought of eating it now makes my stomach turn, IMO. Did you know like a thousand animals could be ground into that one burger? Or th conditions of the farms? Or the statements from the National Cancer Institute? Do more fact-checking!
@741Dave It's not a skewed fact, leaving data out will give incorrect data! Yes it's not the only study available. Framingham, MRFIT and the Nurses' Study show the reverse of the lipid hypothesis. Clinical trials have also failed to prove it. You should do more fact checking. I never said go eat McDonalds. I advocate grass fed, organic free range meat unprocessed and home cooked. I hate factory farms. Just because I said Campbell's study is flawed, doesn't mean I'm telling you to eat junk food.
@Eyecandy4u I should do more fact-checking! lol. I am a high-ranking member of the medical field, have reviewed the data, and know what myself and thousands of other qualified medical professionals have scientifically concluded from endless research. I know what my facts have led me to 100% believe...
check out dr baxter, dr barnard, many others, the proven reversal of heart disease and diabetes, nothing to do with China Study, and many independent cardiologists and endocrinologists trying it out with their patients. Proven results, seen it for my own eyes, and that is all I need - proven facts that I myself can see, evaluate, and measure. And, if you believe in 'cage free' or 'free range' being the solution you are sadly mistaken...
...because that brings it right back to the unsustainable nature of meat & animal products themselves. Guess what what happen if EVERYONE went 'local and organic'??? Have you any idea? Cows would be in your backyard! The selfish people will someday realize, when they have mostly destroyed it all for their menial burger, what is going on right under our noses. Google "Can the US go organic without going vegetarian" and begin to learn. Thank you.
@realinohio I don't think the universities involved could have been swayed by PETA, or anyone else! If you look, the info on health & animal products is well-established. There is a lot of propaganda, for sure, but the truth is there.
1:18 NO SHIT how else would they make their money? proft>health of others...no one in the dairy industry actually drinks the milk cause they know it leaches calcium from the bones cause it's so acidic and calcium is alkalizing...
we would reccommend staying away from soda....no fucking shit!
I appreciate what these guys are doing but did you see what they gave as an example of a days food intake?? sugary cereal, pizza, hamburger and sweets?
Of course if you switch to veg you'll be healthier.
Maybe when I get MS I'll start eating more carrots and zucchini.
@captainstuey No, they were saying the GOVERNMENT guidelines say, per nutritional value, that the crap they showed IS OK for daily nutritional intake. They were making a point about how much you are being manipulated and lied to.
@montsyblackmadonna Yes! I have switched my eating habits as well and I have never felt better. And not only that, but my taste buds now CRAVE fresh healthy food. Its like meat and dairy is more like an addictive drug than food!
@montsyblackmadonna i don't really recommend raw, it kinda messes up your spleen in tcm, but i do promote being vegan for sure, vegan is the best way to eat!

741Dave 1 year ago
@goofyreligion3 "All mammals eat high-fat" Elephants, zebras, giraffes - mammals and vegetarian, and there are many more. NO FACTS.
741Dave 1 year ago
@goofyreligion3 Pure olive oil, peanut oil, canola oil, and avocado are all monounsaturated. You have no facts.
741Dave 1 year ago
And most of the others are polyunsaturated, which is NOT that bad and saturated or trans fat MUCH worse. I would not eat fish in the current water it swims in, fish farms, Mercury, Pfisteria, etc - sorry - you eat it, NOT ME! I'm all set, thanks.
741Dave 1 year ago
@goofyreligion3 Out of your mind. What do you have to gain by mistruths? Links to diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer wellestablished. You need to go argue with many scientists and universities and the ADA, not with me. People can check the facts for themselves. You are completely insane.
741Dave 1 year ago
@goofyreligion3 Great veg sources of fatty acids (Omega 3) Canola oil, English walnuts, Flax oil, Flax seed (ground), Hemp beverages (hemp "milk"), Hemp oil, Hemp seed / hemp nut (ground), Olive oil, Leafy green vegetables (small amounts, but a good omega-3 to omega-6 ratio), Pumpkin seeds, Soybeans, Soybean oil. And fatty acids Omega 6 are plentiful in seeds and nuts. Please stick with facts.
741Dave 1 year ago
@goofyreligion3 Totally wrong. Check the ADA, Harvard, Cornell, The National Cancer Institue, and like 400 independent studies that say VEG IS BEST FOR ALL OF US. Stop the propaganda and mistruths! Check the facts!
741Dave 1 year ago
@goofyreligion3 I will not take your word for it, no offense. That will need to be scientifically shown to me, like everything else. I do eat some soy products, but am more of a nuts and beans type, and considering the planet, rainforest, disease, antibiotic resistance, the pesticides (more in animal farming, yes there is), the pollution, the manure lagoons...
741Dave 1 year ago
the hormones and other chemicals, the E.Coli and Salmonella, the Pfisteria, the cruelty, the inefficiency (can feed like triple the amount of people on the grain it takes to make one meat meal), the excess water consumption (again, inefficient), the science of animal products and their affect on our health...I can keep going if you need me to, but that is enough for me to change my life. GO VEG, help EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY!
741Dave 1 year ago
'nut and bean' type. YES, I know soy is a legume...but I knew what I meant! (I was thinking more peanut, cashew, black beans, chickpeas, etc...anyways...oops)
741Dave 1 year ago
@goofyreligion3 LOL. You are out of your mind. I think people should check the facts for themselves. I can't really speak about raw milk vs not raw, but I know for sure that all forms of milk have been shown to have higher rates of cancer, especially breast, and higher rates of osteoporosis. I know in many studies not having anything to do with the China Study that both heart disease and IDDM (insulin dependent diabetes) was improved in almost every single case when the person changed...
741Dave 1 year ago
...to a whole foods plant-based diet, and in some cases the disease virtually disappeared!
741Dave 1 year ago
@goofyreligion3 Untrue. Possibly 2 different books? Have read the data. Several universities involved. Watch for propaganda...well known that things like milk aren't all that they say it is.
741Dave 1 year ago
With the China Study that Campbell wrote, he also fails to mention the county of Tuoli - a group of Chinese people who have one of the lowest rates of cancer and heart disease (as well as low cholesterol) yet they consume the highest amounts of meat, fat and dairy of any province. Their rates were far healthier than almost vegetarian provinces. Why on earth would Campbell leave that out? Oh YES, because it disproves everything he stands for! Go check the original study for yourselves!
Eyecandy4u 1 year ago
@Eyecandy4u Skewed fact in relation to overall population and study. Not the only study available, either. Truth is beginning to bear through the propaganda of clean fields and healthy 'animal' eating. We have been lied to. Coming from an ex-McDonald's addict- the thought of eating it now makes my stomach turn, IMO. Did you know like a thousand animals could be ground into that one burger? Or th conditions of the farms? Or the statements from the National Cancer Institute? Do more fact-checking!
741Dave 1 year ago
@741Dave It's not a skewed fact, leaving data out will give incorrect data! Yes it's not the only study available. Framingham, MRFIT and the Nurses' Study show the reverse of the lipid hypothesis. Clinical trials have also failed to prove it. You should do more fact checking. I never said go eat McDonalds. I advocate grass fed, organic free range meat unprocessed and home cooked. I hate factory farms. Just because I said Campbell's study is flawed, doesn't mean I'm telling you to eat junk food.
Eyecandy4u 1 year ago
@Eyecandy4u I should do more fact-checking! lol. I am a high-ranking member of the medical field, have reviewed the data, and know what myself and thousands of other qualified medical professionals have scientifically concluded from endless research. I know what my facts have led me to 100% believe...
741Dave 1 year ago
check out dr baxter, dr barnard, many others, the proven reversal of heart disease and diabetes, nothing to do with China Study, and many independent cardiologists and endocrinologists trying it out with their patients. Proven results, seen it for my own eyes, and that is all I need - proven facts that I myself can see, evaluate, and measure. And, if you believe in 'cage free' or 'free range' being the solution you are sadly mistaken...
741Dave 1 year ago
...because that brings it right back to the unsustainable nature of meat & animal products themselves. Thank you.
741Dave 1 year ago
I heard that the China study was flowed and promoted by PETA for their cause.
Other studies promoted by beef industry. I don't know who to believe anymore
realinohio 1 year ago
@realinohio I don't think the universities involved could have been swayed by PETA, or anyone else! If you look, the info on health & animal products is well-established. There is a lot of propaganda, for sure, but the truth is there.

1:18 NO SHIT how else would they make their money? proft>health of others...no one in the dairy industry actually drinks the milk cause they know it leaches calcium from the bones cause it's so acidic and calcium is alkalizing...
trevfrank 1 year ago
we would reccommend staying away from soda....no fucking shit!
I appreciate what these guys are doing but did you see what they gave as an example of a days food intake?? sugary cereal, pizza, hamburger and sweets?
Of course if you switch to veg you'll be healthier.
Maybe when I get MS I'll start eating more carrots and zucchini.
captainstuey 1 year ago
@captainstuey No, they were saying the GOVERNMENT guidelines say, per nutritional value, that the crap they showed IS OK for daily nutritional intake. They were making a point about how much you are being manipulated and lied to.

What is the rate for osteoporosis in Asian countries?
auggiedoggy 1 year ago
@auggiedoggy No idea, but the countries that drink the most dairy have the highest levels of osteoporosis.

It's always funny to hear people say we need so much protein-and that we do need we can ONLY get from meat. Yeah right.

Excellent video,
very informative !
I have been an organic mostly raw vegan now for almost a year,
and have lost weight and have never felt better.
A plant based diet is the diet we were designed by God to eat.
montsyblackmadonna 2 years ago 6
@montsyblackmadonna Yes! I have switched my eating habits as well and I have never felt better. And not only that, but my taste buds now CRAVE fresh healthy food. Its like meat and dairy is more like an addictive drug than food!

@Elsydeonz That is wonderful.

@montsyblackmadonna i don't really recommend raw, it kinda messes up your spleen in tcm, but i do promote being vegan for sure, vegan is the best way to eat!
iamadumpling 1 year ago
@iamadumpling : Humans are well adapted to eating cooked food now although I do think we should still eat our fair share of raw fruit and vegetables.

@montsyblackmadonna Eating meat is natural, however the quantity and quality of our meat is not
