I hate to admit it but I had a tear in my eye. I have watched this show on and off since 1971 and when ever I happened to tune in there were my old friends. Vicki and Dorian, I sure will miss them. Two TV greats!
This episode, this goodbye, is the last episode of OLTL for me. This show really went to shit around 1999, and the only fleeting moments of brilliance after came from scenes between Viki and Dorian. Fairwell, Landview! Thankfully with YouTube, I can relive the glory days of their chemistry!
Thanks for the Diva channel. Will enjoy it for a long time to come. I loved the Mel storyline. What was that scene with Dorian and Viki listening to the radio? I have never seen that one. Also, loved the trapped in the cave stuff. Thanks again.
@KGirl1953 The scene with the radio is one of my favorites. I've been trying to get it for years. It was SO funny. Dorian and Viki were locked into the basement of Dorian's home by a man name Hugo Monroe. He was with the mob and believed to be involved in Mel's death. I think the song playing was Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," which was a "Ben and Blondie" song.
Dorian stated it best. How will Viki and Llanview be without Dorian around to liven it up? In a lot of ways, Dorian and Viki are flip sides of the same coin. Dorian always strick me as more fun loving, while Viki was always pretty straitlaced. But those two played off one another so well, and it showed here.
@dia1962 I want tyo say that from all of your subscribers, and fellow Dorian fans, Thank you! I realize this is likely your last post until RS comes back (and she'll be back) so I want to thank you so much. You're a special person.
@bmf1706 Thank you for your kind words. It was my pleasure. It was also my honor to do so for fans of this actress and character. I have read that SoapNet will air "classic" episodes from the last five years, so I will upload what I don't already have posted on the DIVA Channel.
A classic ending to one of the classic feuds of all of Daytime Television. There is Kay vs. Jill on Y&R; and there are Dorian vs. Viki here on OLTL. They buried the hatchet without burying it in their heads! They care, though neither one would outright admit it. And also, though they would never admit it, they DO care about and love one another.
@AlbieGray As much as I've complained about the writing for Viki/Dorian at times, they certainly had a better finale than anything poor Jill and Kay have had in years.
