I dont have any bad words to say about their 80s era, I think they chose to experiment and they did a damn good job at it.
Totally agree with you. Kiss were my first influence as a kid and especially tracks from Paul Stanley, he knows how to write a catchy track with thought provoking lyrics. He always seems to come back to broken hearts and tough spirits...the journey of life I guess...

Paul was way more active on stage and his voice was more powerful as it progressed. sure, Ace and Peter weren't there, but it was a good move for KISS to go on and explore different styles. to me, 80s era is just as much profound as the 70s. it proved that they were a band that could survive the change in trends. something only great bands do

The drumming (timing and fills) is great. Bass lines are simple and the solo is very catchy. "Crazy nights" is a piece of art of the 80's.
