Much like Blues Musicians of the early 20th century influenced a generation of Rock musicians, this man has forever changed the landscape of zither fueled political power ballads.
PS: Can some please make an auto-tune remix of this guy?
That's no gossip about the company that wrote songs for a fee (there are multiple companies like this) --- this was a poem the guy sent to such a place, and this is the song he got back. There is a documentary about these kinds of songs -- Caglar Juan Singletary who links here, too, was another person featured in that documentary.... and the guy who wrote "Jimmy Carter" was interviewed in that film. Can't remember the title, but it was about "song poems". Good documentary!

Story I heard: there was a company that would play and record a song for a small fee , then send you the tape or record (?).... Some fine citizen wrote this and had it produced.
THat is officially a legend. Yes, because it is gossip.
Thank you Whaskey Elwood Walls Jr. for the Lyrical Genius of this song, further thanx to Gene Marshall who brought forth the notes and vocals. Both of you are a Man's Man! Jimmy Jimmy Carter our 39th President!!! Excellent rendition Brian! Keep spreading the music! God knows we need it so.
this is the funniest version of this song ive ever heard!! hehe the way he sings it with so much passion!! love this song...sticks in my head all day!

Jimmy Carter was a joke- but nothing is funny about Obama. He already is destroying the economy- companies are already laying off people in anticipation of the taxation and other levies.

Not to mention he was the second highest receiver of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac- just after Senator Dodd. We need to cut capital gains immediately. We need to cut all taxes immediately. We need to stop ACORN voter fraud immediately.
It's actually an autoharp. We had one of these in grade school. Uber-easy to play... push the button for what chord/key you want and strum away. The buttons mute the strings that don't match up to the chord you want, allowing the rest to resonate. Wikipedia has a good pic. A zither has frets (like a guitar) and no chord buttons.
he really is a great man. he gets dogged out about his presidency, he was too nice i think, and he was in over his head b/c of all the trouble that he inherited. but people should look at all the good he is doing as an x-president.
This song originated from a song poem by an old indian guy from Yreka, California. You can see it in the documentary "Off the Charts: The Song Poem Story". Look it up. It will be the best documentary you see all year.
All I can say is that Obama's "Yes We Can" videos have nothing on this one....
It's a Gene Marshall song...and if we had stuck with Jimmy Carter (best pres. ever) the U.S. would not be forced to buy oil from terrorist funding creeps.
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Congress came into office following Watergate and cleaned house. CIA Director Stansfield Turner ordered 823 positions within the covert Directorate of Operations eliminated, firing most of the Agency's hard men such as Ted Shackley, Thomas Clines and Edwin Wilson. Their response was to take their skills into the private sector. This network of rogue spooks, corrupt bankers, and mercenary weapons designers was the seed from which BCCI, Iran-Contra and 9-11 sprang.
The US intelligence community could not send spies, it could not write reports, and it could not pay money. In order to compensate for that, a group of countries got together in the hope of fighting Communism and established what was called the Safari Club. It included France, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Iran. This was Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal in 2002 addressing the Georgetown University alumni. That was the impetus behind the privatization and merger of US and Saudi intelligence.
According to Zbigniew Brzezinski, the CIA did not begin to assist mujahedeen in 1980 after the invasion of the Soviet against Afghanistan on December 24, 1979. It was on July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed his first order on the secret assistance to Kabuls pro-Soviet regime opponents. Brzezinski wrote a memo to Carter telling him that assistance would cause the Soviet intervention. Carter and Brzezinski armed and trained Afghan muhajideen to draw the Soviets into their own Vietnam War.
