  • No team of today would come within 15 points of these two teams.

  • As much as I hate U of L, I have to say they owned the 80s

  • @beaverpitt LOL. Hey man, thanks for pointing that out. I'm pretty sure that was Jeff Hall (#42) who beaned Danny Ferry. Take that, dookie. LOL.

  • Loved the 86 UofL squad: Wagner, Thompson, Ellison, Crook, Hall: what a team!

  • Three pointer came into college basketball the next season. (Some leagues had experimented with it before but it was not a standard NCAA rule)So this was the last college game without the three pointer

  • never nervous Pervis

  • I don't see a 3-Point arc. There wasn't any 3 pointers in college at the time?

  • I love the cheap shot at 2 06 and the player throwing the basketball at the duke guy in response

  • @beaverpitt

LOL, I saw that. Had to be Ferry.

  • It's so weird looking at the court without the 3 point line.

  • Without the Leg Injury Pervis Ellison would've probably been a great NBA Big Man as well

  • Pervis Ellison was one of the best Centers in College Basketball History

  • im a kentucky fan but every time a kentucky team does good it makes the entire state happy and look good

  • @jacksmacker2 UofL and Kentucky hate each other ,,, where have u been

  • Louisville was the BEST TEAM of the 80s. Its no surprise they beat PUKE....The smart got outsmarted....I hate UK and PUKE...Go Cards!

  • @mrcards93: I love the cards too.

  • Interesting note of history about this game. This game was the last college basketball game (major Division I) to be played WITHOUT the 3-pt shot. It was instituted the following season ('86-'87).

  • Mark Alarie is my dads cousin!!!

  • out of service pervis

  • hey cordless 05, we go to the same school, who is this?

  • Watch at 2:07 Jeff Hall is celebrating/going for a lay up (whatever) and I believe Danny Ferry gives him a shove and then you a ball being thrown at Danny Ferry. Pretty funny.

  • Denny Crum flat outcoached Coach K for much of this game. Does anyone agree?

  • Hells yeah, I'm not a Duke Fan what so ever but that 85-86 Duke team was pretty damm good.

Yeah Crum outfoxed Coach K in this game, it reminds me of UCONN beating Duke in 1999.

  • @gymman1031 No, not at all. Coach K and the Duke players have never made excuses, but the Duke big men had nothing left. Duke had outlasted Danny Manning and Kansas in the semifinals two nights before, in a slugfest, while Louisville got to play an 11 seed in its semi. That's why Ellison went off in the final. Duke led this game by five with about six minutes left and had taken the momentum, but K had to slow it down because Alarie's legs were gone. This got Louisville back in the game.

  • @derkommissar1917 AND THEN YOU WOKE UP...HAHAHAHAHA

  • Well, fair and square, championship teams find ways to get it done, even under adversity. And, after Denny Crum made those defensive adjustments in the Second Half after Dawkins was eating the Cards alive, the rest was history.

  • @gymman1031 I definitely agree with that.

  • @gymman1031 I agree 100%..

  • Ah, yea dummy because this was Coach K's 10th year as a head coach period so, he was supposed to out coach him. Plus Louisville had a better and more experienced team, great obsevation assclown.

  • @T82486 Haha! First of all, I will say that Coach K has had a better coaching career than Crum ever had. But Crum was SUPPOSED to outcoach him because he had more experience!? I have seen SO many coaches with less experience outcoach coaches with more experience. See Brad Stevens at Butler throughout the past two NCAA Tournaments. He outcoached multiple more experienced coaches. Also, Louisville had a better and more experienced team? Yes, they had guard Milt Wagner, Billy Thompson, and Ellison.

  • @T82486 But, Duke's team was better, IMHO. They won 37 games leading up to this game and played a much tougher schedule than Louisville. They had Johnny Dawkins, the high-scoring guard, who was the best player in America. They had Mark Alarie and Jay Bilas. They had point guard Tommy Amaker. They had solid freshman Danny Ferry. Yep, Duke had a more powerful team with an explosive offense. Crum made a few changes on defense during the Second Half, and the Blue Devils struggled.

  • number 42 on louisville, Jeff Hall, is my Health and PE teacher!

  • Although he didn't play that well in this game, its nice to see my boy Milt Wagner go out on top. He had a stellar career at UofL; and still today, remains one of my favorite Cardinals.

  • Denny crum was the best coach that lived pitino 2nd best

  • What he did at UofL despite getting no support from the state was remarkable.

  • Bull shit it won't.

  • Why do sore head UK Sucks fans post on this video? Chill out Mr. NIT.

  • OHH man,you pussies KILL me!

  • Ice and Never Nervous. Wish we had someone this year that could make FT under pressure like those 2. Oh well, still Detroit Bound.

  • notice cheap shot by Danny Ferry on Jeff Hall at the end of the game. Hall threw ball back at him and a small skirmish began. Duke was so arrogant that season - Jay Bilas still acts like he thinks they should be champs. Loved beating them and NC in 1986 to win the championship.

  • We can do it this year..GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The three would be in College basketball the next year.

  • wtf no three point line ?? :O

  • the three point line went into effect the following year. Most conferences started

the three point line in early 80's for

    conference games.

  • All Hail UofL

  • Denny was the man.

  • GO CARDS
