So eating 5-6 meals of only lean protein and veggies, will that be enough calories? veggies aren't that much, and one chicken breast is only 140 calories.
I had success following a plan similar to this. The body fat melts off while energy actually seems to go up. I've began to write about it on squidoo(dot)com/how-you-can-lose-weight-without-exercising-
In the few weeks I've researched carb cycling I have found tons of conflicting info. Basically you have to go with what works for you. I do a three day rotation of no carb, low carb high carb, no carb, etc...there are articles published online. Start with the one at the top when looking into "carb cycling."
Here's a 4:3 ratio routine for those who want a 7 day cycle: M - high carbs - heavy back and legs T - low carbs - no exercise W - low carbs - aerobic running T - low carbs - aerobic cycling F - low carbs - aerobic circuit S - high carbs - heavy chest and biceps S - high carbs - heavy shoulders and triceps High Carb Days: 300G carbs, weight * 20 in cals, weight * 1.5 in protein Low Carb Days: 100G carbs, weight * 10 in cals, weight in protein, 10-15G of Omega 3,6,9 Hope this is helps
and do we keep this doing every 4 days? also i'm curious about how much calories to get per meal in your programme, do you have a specific one, or should I just go as my own, 2160 cal per day, which makes 360 for a meal.
@i2dbLaufer fruits/milk have fructose/lactose which are sugars, fructose/lactose only being used by the liver to refill its glycogen stores, your liver can only hold around 40-50g of glucose before it converts any incoming fructose/lactose into fat through the bloodstream and being deposited. so fruits/no fat milk will increase your fat storage.
Carb cycling is a basically a variation of the Atkins plan with a few differences, you only consume lean meats and not fatty ones like in Atkins, also you do not abstain from carbohydrates for weeks like in Atkins, only for a few days. This seems to be a way to prevent the body from plateauing, and probably a way to prevent carb cravings.
Atkins is actually really effective and you do burn fat when doing atkins, the only thing is that you cannot do it permanently, not for more than a few months, after a while you will plateau because the body adapts. The only way to stay fit in the long term is to eat healthy and get plenty of exercise, proper sleep, and stress control. Your psychological state is the most important part, if you do not have the right mindset you will not lose weight, this is the biggest reason most people fail.
It is a misnomer to say carbo cycling works for everyone. Again as most diet (fat loss) plans do not fit everyone as many factors go into whether a person will succeed on a fat loss plan or not.
It seems on the low carb days, only 20 to 30 percent of your daily calories should be carbs, and high carb days it should be 50 to 60 percent of your daily calories. One gram of carbs equals 4 calories.
I guess cut out all enriched bleached white flour completely along with sodas, candy, and common breakfast cereals with excess sugars and quickly digested high glycemic starches.
Fat is never something someone should be worried about intaking unless you are just very deficient in it. Meat has fat, salad dressing has fat, and you cant tell me your gonna eat salad without dressing. If you want fat, take a flax seed pill at night before bed.
@mohammad112388 go slap yourself 1.) flax is very prone to degradation 2.) fish oil is 100 times better 3.) only benfit flax reallt brings(besides the possibly non rancid efa - is ala content) 4.) I MEANT ONE FUKIN PILL IS NOT HELPING ANYTHING ... :-) I "inquired" abiout days 1-3 because there are not fats listed to fill the calorie gap and the fact they are essential - just protein so dude who made the video is completely fucking off base for a proper carb cycle.I wasn't even talking to you
the cycle being the phase of day 1 - 3 and 4 -5, is constantly repeated, so on day 6 and 7 you'll be on your low carp phase, watch your days, the fact there aren't 5 days in a week can confuse some people hahaha
thanks alot for the advice , i'd done so much reading on this subject. but i have a couple of questions plz
do you have no carbs at all on days you dont workout with weights or you just keep them at very low levels like 50g and under(except for veggies).
what do you get pre-workout if you are training on low-carb days ? do you get a normal Protein/fat/veggie meal pre workout and just have your carbs post-workout ?
Yes. It's not a crash diet so it can be considered a lifestyle change. If you've lost the weight you wanted it's highly flexible but when you're on the diet it's really difficult to prepare all the meals and gather all the ingredients so you'd have to take aside a couple of evenings per week to grocery shop and prepare dinners and lunches for days in advance for convenience. It annoys me but it's one of the most healthiest and effective diets out there. Ketogenic diets done wrong are dangerous.
thank you! this may have no responses or that many views but it has honestly helped me a lot! 1 question, on the low carb days, how many grams would be considered low carb for men?
Carb cycling works. Just avoid fruit.

Carb cycling works. Just avoid fruit. get carbs from starches (rice, whole grain bread sweet potato etc) and vegitables only.

For the low carb days, can you eat fruit & no fat milk?
and should you train the days while eating low carb also?

@sakoking On the sixth day you start day 1 over. It repeats every five days not seven. Hope that helps.

so for 3 days, you only eat meat, like fish and chicken. Veggies such as what?
can peanut butter be eaten? and no fruits for the 3 day.

a flax seed pill ?are you even remotely serious .
MrLovrLovr 2 years ago
Yea I don't think I stuttered. Flax seed is like an EFA, something that is a fat....and helps you burn fat. So no, I am not fucking joking.

MrAnimeFreak777 2 years ago
@MrAnimeFreak777
no increase good carbs
he was just pointing out the bad ones , so on that day (high carb) you would not eat those.
good carbs are fruits, veggies, and whole wheat and whole grain pasta , bread and brown rice.

I keep mine under 100 grams. 70 of them come from waxy maize starch directly after my workout. the other 30 come from veggies. hope that helps.
