  • I weigh 140 lbs and I can do more pull ups and dips than most bodybuilders I met in the gym.

    For the record a 200 lb guy said I could only do pullups because I only weigh 140, so I put on 60 lbs and did more pull ups than him.

    Calisthenics = power.

  • @TyeDyeGuyRy LOL. I hear ya. I'm 42, 5-8 & only weigh 150. I'm stronger and more fit than most guys 1/2 my age. I focus on core development and all-around fitness through bodyweight exercises. I love the TRX, it's the best fitness invention ever. I am stronger now than ever since I started using it. You develop all of the connective muscles. None of the big guys, or any guy for that matter, ever uses it at the gym. I think it scares them 'cause it'll blow their facade! Keep up the good work.

  • @TyeDyeGuyRy You should tell this idiot that normaly if his muscles had the power that they appeare to have, it shouldn't bother him that he weighted 60 pounds more then you. muscle size should be analogue to his body weight and if he should do more pull ups than you acording to his logic. but this is not the case, cause bodybuilding sucks and calisthenics is the real deal!!!!!

  • @TyeDyeGuyRy Strong comparison. Someone who does a lot of calisthenics will be a lot more efficient at body weight exercises then a bodybuilder who for the majority of the time trains with resistance from weights. So its not surprise you can do more pull ups and dips...

    watch my profile if u wanna see a pic of me, i was SCRAWNY before and i don´t even go to the gym or use suplements (i did went to the gym for 2 months, out of 2 years of training i have done so far).

    whenever you´re strong enough to do many reps, and you can freestyle on the bar, it´s a lot of fun :D

Bodybuilders are the biggest muscles and leanest and lift weights. Olympic weightlifters and powerlifters are the strongest. Sprinters are super lean, and they lift weights.

  • @777TylerJB i'm talking about football people. most football players don't have very much muscle and have a lot of fat and can't run fast or far. no body builders are crazy lol. i can't beat those guys but i'm pretty strong by comparison to a lot of people that lift weights. sprinters need to lift to be strong and lean. fat jiggles and absorbs a lot of energy which slows them down.

  • @Jc3intelligent Most football players are lean and muscular. Runningbacks, cornerbacks, wide receivers, etc. are all lean and muscular. Yeah the lineman are fat lol.....I do think you should always do calisthenics and isometrics so you can get like the guys on calisthenic kingz and then go lift weights and test your strength. That is what i am doing. you should test your strength whats your bench, squat, and deadlift?

  • @777TylerJB lol well not around my area. and a lot of football players i see are pretty fat dudes. and the dudes that are cornerbacks and all that are just thin lol. before i stopped lifting for calisthenics i used to be able to bench like 130 lbs. and then i never paid attention to squat or deadlifts. but i'm sure that now the weights gotta be heavier. i do like one armed pushups and handstand pushups now lol.

  • I am seeing some hate on this man's training style. Calisthenics is how ALL OF US started in gym class. You can and will get in good heatlhy, strong shape simply with a strong calisthenics program.  period. Myself, I lifted heavy for several years and got to my ideal size (I went from 150 to 200 in about 6 years just with exercise and diet). And then I plateaued and took someone's advice--100 pushups a day. Pull ups. Dips. Cardio. That's it and I am pretty yoked. Mr. Cal...keep it up!!!

  • I noticed over the years that results will always very for different individuals. I have met guys who do body wieght excercise, and they look like they lift wieghts, and other guys who do the same, and just get ripped, It depends, on genetics, how you eat, and training, as well as rest.

  • it depends on what your goals are. Most people will achieve size and power from heavy lifting. For me bodywieght excercises keep me tone, and still I can maintain power. It depends on your body type. I mean at my lightest I am 200lbs, and currently I am 250lbs, so when I am this heavy I stick to bodywieght excercices.

  • Yea but when you are that skinny its not hard to lift your self. i do smiler workouts when im not in the gym just to keep my bodystrength/ weight equal. if this is all you do you cant expect to get buff just riped. It is important though. Also on another note check out isometrics.
