The UNCUT version of Emmet Otter is available on DVD! This version contains Kermit's narration, Kermit's appearances, ALL songs and of course the infamous "fall off the dock" line! It's available for a VERY reasonable price to buyers located in the US! Send me a PM if you are interested.
I have the original version of this on a high quality DVD. It contains every single scene and song as seen on TV as well as TWO appearances by Kermit and the "River Meets the Sea" song is peformed TWICE in my version. It's a lot of work to get it on the Internet. If you'd rather just have someone do all the work for you, send me a PM or an e-mail. dan611logan@yahoo.com
@8mmhomemoviechannel You sir are a good man, I wanted so badly to show my 2 yr old this movie and you cant find it anywhere. Brings back great memories thanks again!
I moved my upload (from tubengagements) to my new channel.
I've uploaded the original vhs recording from 1982 featuring Kermit, who was deleted (along with a few other scenes) in later broadcasts, & vhs/dvd's.
I am uploading them now & have most online. If you don't see ALL parts they'll be there today.

Ah...so good to hear these great songs from Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas when I was young. This used to come on HBO in late 70's early 80's. I wanted to see it every time it was on. Never got old! So much fun! Thanks for sharing
good times ..i was so young when i saw this. i agree with tbone2872 a great time ..i believed these guys where real when i was kid. i imagined they lived in my creek behind my house. i will say they dont make um like this anymore..this is when people had talent and it showed in the muppet show ,emmet odder etc i miss um
lol the great jim hensons muppets.....he almost reminds me of walt disney but not with cartoons with real moving figures....aka puppets....aka muppets
Oh man, that was awesome! Brings back alot of memories. I can't believe Lionsgate pulled the Riverbottom Nightmare Band performance. I've got a good mind to head on over to Pirate Bay and torrent the thing. Anyway, thanks for uploading this video. You made our day.
DUDE!!!! this is AWESOME..I've been looking for the original from HBO forever (not the one that was on ABC w/ Kermit narrating it)...anyone kno where to find that?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this is sad. i watched this because i was looking for jug band music for my music project but these other people in there 40's are watching it because they are virgins and got nothin better to do. gosh, i got knocked up for the first time when i was 13 and have done it like 50 times since and im only 15 now
I remember watching this when it first showed on HBO 30 years ago...now my son has the DVD and loves it...it's not the Christmas season without watching Emmett Otter at least twice
I remember the premier of this on HBO when I was 7 years old. My wife and I rented the DVD and watched it yesterday. I'm 37 now and it doesn't seem that long ago. I also remember when this came out cable had what, maybe 21 channels? What a great memory.
@tbone2872 I totally remember that. We had the cable box with buttons on it if you pushed the button up it was one channel and down it was another. Analog beauty! I did buy this off ebay a few years ago, and it was playing in the dvd last night as we drove around looking at xmas lights
@TVTraX Emmet Otter had several releases. It was originally a children's book written in 1971. Jim Hensen adapted the book to a Muppet special in originally in 1977. The most acclaimed premiere was in Dec. of 1981 on HBO in which Emmet Otter recieved an Emmy. It has also since been made into a live play produced by Hensons company . The Show ran on HBO until 1987. MTV first signed on in August 1981. Last time I checked 1981 falls within Emmet Otter's history. You really need a girlfried badly.
My all time favorite Christmas special! I would watch Emmitt Otter everytime it came HBO as a child. While it's been edited a bit, luckily it's now on DVD. Thanks for posting. Sweet memories indeed :)
Love It. I saw the Chris Muti Band in Tarpon Springs Florida cover it perfectly with Scott Carbone on the wash tub bass. Paul Williams is a great song writer. Thanks for posting that.
One of me and my family's all time favorites! Emmit Otter's jug band Christmas is being released on Broadway very soon, so make sure to check it out Emmit fans!
i saw this when i was 1 and i still watch it every christmas and this is the best song u ever herd if your reading this. u should rate this 5 stars and put as a favorite cause i did
I want the whole thing. But the original whole thing, because my mom bought a copy again and they had taken out some lines....but mostly I want the music. Them singing the music.
Everytime somemone in my family is bossy we say "Gee, Mr.Big Time Conducter"or if I have difficultly with a problem I think "half of fifty cents..........".
I remember finding a DVD of this at price club a couple of years back. It was the best Christmas gift I have ever bought for myself. I remember watching this on a VHS recorded off of a friends TV. I watched that tape until it broke.
