Lol, all these people that think all harleys are heavy, long, and slow have no idea. Sportsters can keep up with alot of the sport bikes on the road. Now mind it, it is a cruiser, bits a bat on wheels too lol.

Yeah, most of the Harley bashes can only apply to the 650+lb bigger models. The Sportster 1200 can put 90ft-lbs to the ground with very basic mods and only weighs 550lbs. This isn't enough to hang with 600+cc super sports, but it's still screaming for a cruiser.

My stage one sporty runs a wheel lenth slower then a 2007 600 gsxr in the 8th mile. If the race is any longer the sporty is done and the gsxr walks it.

I assume you are still running stock gearing. If so, those take offs were in 2nd gear. Just so people know, top of 2nd gear is 70mph, top of 3rd gear is 104mph. Top of 4th 120+

awesome bike ! looks like real fun... light-weight, loud, nice rear-fender, agile and fast... chapeau´n´respect! unfortunately, riding a bike like that is in germany nearly impossible, because to get an leagal police approval for german streets is unreachable (TUEV). but in germany we can legal drive on highways as fast as your bike or car can run :-) there´s no speed limit on german highways :-) .... great stuff, sorry 4 bad english, greetz from germany, cat4weazel.
