I see a way it could work you use the USB hub ans then connect the cord that came with the GTab. The one with a 30 pin at one side and a USB on the other end. Then you connect the HDMI adapter to the cord and there you go HDMI and multiple USB ports.
@BugattiNinja Thank you so much for the tip. Will definitely try it out once I get my adapter. do give us anymore tips if you have any. Highly appreciate it. CHEERS!!!
@donrhummy I find it a little bit faster. My tab usually gets really slow when I first switched on the wifi and it is loading. Once it settles down, it feels smooth
hey there! how's MKV support? How about NTFS HDD's and Flash Discs? Also, can the GTab be mounted as a mass storage after the Touchwiz Update? Thanks in advance for any info!
@neilbantoc37 First of all, thanks for watching my video. Unfortunately, all of Nvidia tegra devices have problem with the video support. You need to encode it and convert to mp4 to watch videos. I have still yet to receive the USB adapter that I ordered but as far as I know, HDD's are not supported but it does support flash drives. Depending on whether you're using Windows laptop or a Mac, for windows yes you can mount it as a mass storage. But as for Macs, you need to download the Kies for Mac
@Kickinloud Wow, thanks for the quick response. While i am aware of the problem with video decoding on Tegra 2 devices, I've seen some T2 tablets run MKV files
I was also wondering if subtitles are supported. If NTFS Flash disks are a go, that's nice.
Can you please post a video wherein you mount the GTab as a mass storage using window explorer on a windows machine? Thank you very much.
@Kickinloud Thank you very much. If you could also do some MKV video tests, i'd really appreciate it.. I'm eyeing for a media player tab to play my anime from an external HDD formatted in NTFS, that's why I am inquiring these things. If the problem with the external HDD's is the port not having enough power to supply, then i think i have a solution for that (external battery pack and a split usb data and power cable).
@neilbantoc37 Hey there....sorry for the late reply. Our internet has been down for a week now. Will try to post the video as soon as I can. But, I read that diceplayer is a great alternatives that could play mkv files as well as other files on the tab without having to encode it. I tried the trial version and I have to say that I am highly impress with it.
@Kickinloud I've been trying diceplayer on my Galaxy S as well, and success is varied, I'm afraid. But hey, it's single core unlike the Tab. I think I'm sold, but there is still one detail that's bugging my decision: is it correct that you can only use HDMI out OR USB in at a time? Meaning, I can't for example read a video file on my HDD while outputting to an HDTV? Well, i can just transfer to the internal storage, but even though it's NTFS, I read at XDA that you can't place 4+gb files.. true?
@neilbantoc37 The USB adapter has only one port so yes....you can't use 2 at the same time. Lack of USB ports is due to the thin design of the tablet. Unless USB hub can be used along with the USB adapter. And as for placing 4+ gb files, I have yet to try. If what you mean is by transferring a file that is of 4gb then I'm not sure. The biggest file I have is about 1gb+. Do make more comparison on the tablets available before making your decision. Really hope I could help you a bit.
@Kickinloud Sorry, I think you misunderstood me. You need an adapter to use USB in, correct? Also, you need another adapter to use HDMI out. Since the GTab has only one 30-pin port, you can only use one of the adapters at a time, therefore you can't have HDMI out and USB in at the same time. That also means you can't play a video file on a USB stick and have it displayed on an HDTV. Is this correct or have you found a way to connect two adapters to the 30-pin, like a 30-pin hub or something.
@neilbantoc37 What I meant is that, since the adapter has only 1 port for a USB port, then maybe we could connect a USB hub to it so we could connect multiple devices on the device. I really hope my adapter would arrive next week. Then I'd give you more information on that.
@Kickinloud well yes, using a usb hub gives you more usb ports, but it doesn't give you more 30-pin ports. you can't have hdmi out on a usb port since the adapter needs a 30-pin port.. But hey, if you can figure out a way to connect the usb and hdmi adapter at once, let me know.. that's all i need, actually.. thanks for the replies, i really appreciate them.
@junhang Hi there. I didn't get a chance to look at the title of the song. You can download the apps DI Radio and listen to various types of dance music on it. When I was shooting the video, I was listening to Latin House Station.
