I've thought of this before, but I would flip the body so the narrow side was at the neck... seems like a more balanced design, almost 'V'-like. It would still be cheesy as hell, though.

It works better with basses. The guy from the Nekromantix has a stand-up with a child size coffin for the body and it looks great.

this has to be the ugliest guitar i have ever seen... what's he thinking? the bo-didley box had some saving grace bit this is just butt-ugly period in my opinion and having an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus know they sound good even with factory stock Alnico pickups... but this design stinks... maybe for a Halloween gig at most...

Then i played one, as I collect guitars he uses live, usually Gibsons, but I must say this plays equally as well, so snapped it up, your get a leather bound book with his autograph in like the gibsons also, LOVE this guitar now! Grown on me
