I've found it best to just not use companions at all, as fun as it is. It gets really glithcy and freezes alot. I had a bug with Charon where he froze before killing azhrukhal and I had to push him around, then steal some stuff and try to get azhrukhal in Charon's line of fire. He wouldnt actually fire at him but if he killed him with the spray of the shotgun the glitch magically went away

Also a little trick I discovered today, some of you may know if it already. If you mezz someone, put a collar on, release them, then mezz them again right away and put another collar on no one in the area will become hostile. Made it easy to mezz flak and susan lancaster.

You can also get Fawkes by not talking to him at first when you escape from raven rock. He will join you regardless of how many followers you have so long as it's the first time you talked to him after blowing up raven rock.

I think the dogmeat trick is patched. Right now I have Clover, Jericho, Butch, Charon, Dogmeat and Sydney. I got rid of fawkes to get Charon because I like givin my guys sick armor and guns :P But yea, the dogmeat trick worked for me once, but did not work with his puppy

@BlackoutClothingCo repairing megaton's pipes and then selling all the scrap metal you get good money along with selling sensor modules and cameras if you have broken steel. of course the best way to make money is to repair weapons all the way (with repair of 100) and sell them. you also want a high barter. not that i ever did and i would hold a good 50k in FO3 when i played that. now its all FO:NV

@platinumwatcher Sticky will still be there but if you make him wait longer than that he will still be there but he will be dead because he gets kiled by the mayor. or if you make hime wait in the wasteland for a long time you'll find him dead and headless. just look it up in the wiki at fallout(dot)wikia(dot)com, just replace the (dot) with a period :)

I liked the idea of companions gunning with me, but beth didnt really think it throguh very well - if you play a neutral or good character you dont really ever even find a companion until you find dogmeat, fawkes, and star paladin~ all of which are abit obscure; and by the time I met any of them i was too use too used to solo gunning that they just got in the way :p
