  • in other words having a valued historic relic needs national park divers to go down with the prospective divers so wouldn't it be better protected and a magnet for visitors if it were raised and cleaned and housed in a museum?

  • should be reclaimed from the bottom and placed in a building as a static display which is the best way to preserve it. Crazy that divers can go down there without a national park svc supervisor to oversee dives. If such oversight is provided to protect the plane, what a nutty situation let alone if anyone dies when diving.

  • Great video, very informitave.

  • that particular b-29 carried a top-secret device in the place of the top turret that was designed to collect the sun's rays and direct the beam at enemy aircraft, hence jamming all electronics and causing system failure. however, when the plane was located, the device had already been removed. theorists believe that the army sent in a recovery team in to retrieve it before it could fall into enemy hands.

  • @LakeMeadNRA Yes, it was a very advanced plane, but no where near the most advanced ( the most advanced being planes like the Me-262, Ta-183 or heinkel lerche ) Great video anyway.

  • Big Sal always said he wanted to sleep with the Lake Lurks.

  • I dont really think the boomers have any chance fixing that wreck up to the point where it can fly

  • A piece of history, I'm glad the creators of Fallout New Vegas included this in the game, otherwise I'd probably be oblivious about it unless I'm in the area.

  • wheres the lake lurks?

  • HAHA! The boomers have it now!

  • So many rangers.

  • I'm guessing there was alot of clumsy divers and that is why they closed the dive site?

  • BOOMERS

  • @TheKillersam101 idolized

  • Any Idea how long this aircraft will survive before corosion erodes it into powder?/

  • do they realise the boomers have it now..

  • i only came here just to see the crash from fallout new vegas

  • @boogiemanny322 The B-29 bomber from fallout new vegas is in real life, Its buried 300 feet below water and Preserved for many years to come. (Would explain why it would still be partially intact in FNV) but the boomers later restored it to working condition, Interesting enough this B-29 crashed in the early 1940s and then found in the late 1990s!

  • @Bloodycole the only twist to this video is that should'nt there have been a gas leak or oil spill

  • very cool video, and love all these funny comments about Fallout...

  • Theres to many comments about fallout it realy shocks me

  • fallout new vegas - only reason i came here

  • Who came here because of Fallout: New Vegas? Thumbs up if you did.

  • fallout new vegas ftw

  • Lol. Also here couse you dont know where to use the ballast to raise it in fallout new vegas?? XD

  • Any chance of raising this wreck before it corodes away forever??

  • @mosquito1958 We have decided to preserve it in place. Taking it out of the lake would change the historic context of the wreckage and remove a great archeological dive experience for park visitors.

  • @LakeMeadNRA That's a damn shame. It should be raised, and restored.

  • @LakeMeadNRA BUT THE BOOMERS NEED IT!

  • @LakeMeadNRA BUT THE BOOMERS NEED IT!

  • @LakeMeadNRA You mean take away your sales

  • @mosquito1958 the enviromentalists don't want to ruin its "landmark"

  • @mosquito1958 Another aspect to keep in mind is you have diminshed risk of corrosion in fresh water envrioment. Some of the wrecks from the War 0f 1812 in the Great Lakes are still very intact.

  • @mosquito1958 Yes, in 2281 a courier will attach ballasts underneath its two wings and using loyal's detonator, deploy them from the shore. This 3D imaging video describes how it should play out watch?v=Nrt2ouypIhY&feature=related

  • 0:40 NCR ranger they're trying to steal the plane from the boomers.

  • Haha, this crash site is a place in Fallout New Vegas

    =D

  • @CraziXGames haha you're retared

  • @503burnside no u

  • For a rather hum drum "corporate" style video this was a very well written, shot and edited little production. Keep up the good work "Parks Services!" I really took quite a bit away from your piece and glad it was here.

  • Interesting! Thanks for posting the video

  • Great airplane, great video.

  • Isn't the plane starting to show now? they completely shut down Overton Arms!

  • cool
