Penance is the guy Robbie "Speedball" Baldwin turns into after the Stamford CT disaster. He discovers his powers after that event, can only be triggered by pain. So he has costume built for him with 612 inward facing spikes inside it, representing each victim of the disaster. This way he's always kept in permanent pain. Hope that answers ya lol

penance once was the hero speedball. He was the only hero to live through the events that started civil war. He fond his powers only worked when he was in pain. He felt he was to blame for all the people dieing when Nova well went Nova. So he had an outfit made that was pretty much an Iron Maiden. The 62 larger spikes in it are for the children who died. He wears this outfit and renamed himself penance.

@orasen123 He's speedball but when Nitro destroyed stamford he lost his powers and gains them through pain, his suit has 61 spikes in the helmet for the kids who died, and some 500 spikes in the body for everyone else because he takes the blame ffor them.

FYI Punisher was involved in Cap Americas side during the conflict but was later expelled AND Blade WAS involved. SHIELD hired him to track down Wolverine as he would have the best chance of arresting him. He later relised the error of his ways, let wolverine go & then buggered off himself.

Dont try to out comic me on this game, there was no excuse for leaving out the darker characters & putting in Thor & Hulk.

The thing was Cap. was the one man punisher would not fight, he took a beating and never fought back. Caps. its part of the civil war deal based on the comic book. Iron man wants super heroes to sign an agreement making them part of the law system and part of the government by rendering their identy. Captain America says that by doing so, they would be breaking an age old tradition and is against it. Every super hero has the right to his/her identy and America also explains it would be going against the US constitution for privacy.

you cant pick any of those guys in the beginning. You start with America, Iron man, Wolverine and spiderman. As you play, then you unlock characters, unless theres a code out that can unlock guys already.

Deadpool couldn't do anything to Penance he has a kinetic forcefield which denies punches, kicks, sword blasts, bullets, energy blasts, anything! Penance is practically invulnerable and is said to be able to cause Hulk level amounts of destruction. I like DP, but Penance would kick his ass as he did Wolverine's.

His powers did only work when he was in pain for a while. But he's gained control of them now. The masochism is weird, he's even stated he enjoys wearing the suit and would wear it all the time if he could. But he's gradually removing the interior spikes, so he'll eventually get past it.
