@MrHankscorpio100 dont think he got a call back, they prob didnt want him, thats what happened to Sammy, him and his family are all rep, of ireland supporters but he couldnt make team, i think its a bit unfair especially seeing how they would rather represent the south than the north :)
@mrtoptuber rather unsurprisingly, the answer why there are two assiciations is down to politics. the FAI split away from the IFA in the early 20's as they felt they weren't getting equal representation from the then Belfast based IFA. Rugby, Golf, Boxing, and many other sports have 32 county non-political governing bodies, football is unfortunately different.
Also, If McGinn had said he was a fan of Brazil, spain, Germany etc noone would bat an eyelid.
no disrespect to niall mcginn but them things should just be kept to yourself. im annoyed about the fact that ni born players can choose to play for ireland. i dont find this fair at all. alot of talent will be lost and also unloyal players wanting more international succes will go over the border
@tazz6190 republic of ireland is only our official name whereas we represnt the hole of ireland, you will never here an irish player, fan or commentator usin the phrase 'republic of ireland' we call ourselves ireland because we represent everyone on the island who calls themselves irish
@cluasbodhar thank you for your comment. what i find embarrassing is the fact that they claim this loyalty to the queen, yet when they were forced off their land, and moved to the north of Ireland, they as presbyterians were originally treated near as bad as the Catholics, by the Anglican British Monarch, which to this day, exempts any member in its family from the royal tree to the throne, if they are not Anglican.
how do they feel about scotland inevitable independence in the next 10 years ?
can someone answer me this question, as I'm a Londoner with no links to either team....
WHY is there two teams, considering in Rugby there is only one? is it actually just down to a certain few bigots who doesnt want to mix, and play arm in arm, and just wont admit it???
George Best was very vocal in the late 60's and 70's about an all Ireland football team united, and that one day he could maybe help make it happen... that unfortunatly hasnt happened for him, but lets hope it does eventually.
The wee bastard will never wear a Northern Shirt again, at least not with approval the fans, and if the manager wants to keep his job he will listen to the fans, FUCK OFF MCGINN YOU WEE BASTARD
I'm not going to be abusive, but what he has said is a disgrace, If he is a Rep of Ireland fan, then he should have held out for a cap with them, not put on a N. Ireland jersey and declare he supports the south. I am a Northern Ireland fan, and am not a bigot if I see catholic players playing for us I'm more than happy as long as they give 100%. This isn't about religion it's about Nationality. and McGinn if you want to be a Rep Ireland fan Fair enough mate, but dont bother putting on our jersey
@dotsy129 Sorry let me rephrase that, "Any abusive comments towards Niall McGinn or any other players or posters on here will be censored, You cannot express your opinion in a dishonest way and youtube doesn't have a profanity filter so I the owner of this video am watching you and taking away all rights to freedom of speech on youtube."
What people say or do shouldn't bother you dont waste your time. If you dont like what people have to say dont read it just dont take away our freedom of speech
@munn2006 Can I ask your opinion on the treatment of Neil Lennon by some Nothern Ireland fans. When I say some it was because it was only some. You sound like a reasonable enough person and thats why I ask.
@mcRioRemedy playing for the foreign state that represents the occupied 6 represents that they see themselves as British. Saying he supports Ireland is cringeworthy and embarrassing. If he really felt tis way then he would be playing for us.
@IrishPapaSmurf91 lennon played for norn iron before the good friday agreement was signed you thick fuck.
you were only 7 at the time. your just a wee boy. your a twisted lil cunt that people who support the republic of irelend want nothing to do with. were you even at the game. i fuckin doubt it. full of shit spouting a load of bollocks.
how could lennon play for the republic if at that time he wasnt allowed? he couldnt you stupid cunt. so shut it
@IrishPapaSmurf91 so all catholics from the north are a disgrace? you really dont have a clue about the world we live in do ya? you sound like an ignorant hun the way you speak. you should be supporting northern ireland the way you spout bullshit, we certainly dont want you supporting irelnd if your gonna dis 3 mccourt mcginn baird etc.
@mcRioRemedy All catholics from the north are a disgrace? sure im a catholic from the north! You dont want me supporting ireland? Tough shit Im as Irish as the rest of you, of course I'll support my nation. Its McCourt and co who should take note on how I do things.
@IrishPapaSmurf91 how do you do things? answer, the wrong way. get a grip of yourself. so martin o'neill shouldnt have played for norn either? if your as irish as the rest how come your the only arsehole slagging mcginn for what he said? how come you attacked paddy mccourt for nothing? how come you critisized
neil "legend" lennon for something you didnt have a clue about? away ye go. i was at the game, i go to games, im not a fake wannabe like you. . . get a grip of yourself son
Niall has always given 100% for NI. I'm not surprised or perturbed that he supports ROI but he shouldn't have made those comments last night - it's disrespectful to his team-mates and fans.
