Its so true. So few of today's "artists" (They don't even have the nerve to say musicians and singers) have absolutely no talent. Rather than "practice" to get it right, they get one cut and lip sink their concerts. People (mostly kids) pay hundreds to see such shows.
@plee13821 And apparently in the early 1980's they even showed up on several Album Oriented Rock stations. UGH! Well, at least that didn't last very long, though.
I like this lineup of Blood Sweat & Tears. They are very relaxed and the rapport they have with each other is excellent. The lead singer doesn't dominate, but rather coaxs the best out of these musicians. It is disappointing to learn they didn't have any hits.
@golfgirl234 ikr, people who always listen to all that autotuned music think that it's wierd that i listen to songs like this, and they call this music crappy.
I have not been able to find any videos of this lineup with JF performing Spinning Wheel. Anybody know if they used to perform that song live back in the day?
Apparently someone wanted to hear Georg Wadenius' guitar line more than the brass at 2:54. He did not get featured enough in BS&T which is a shame since he is quite a good guitarist.
Man it totally looks like they are playing in front of an audience of 3 people!!! Cud only wish I'd had been 1 of them. I've been following BS@T for a many years and let me tell you Jerry Fisher rocks the house...
response ti ReDRuM868----You got that right...too many lazy suckers..that rely on sourcing to computers, and sampling , mixing...kids are getting dumfounded by garbage
with rythms that are stolen from the past....even the good singers of today..sound like singers from the 60's and 70' with no real individuality than the possible lyrics written for them...
it's all about the horns! doze bros got dare shit down fuckin cold! like the funk bros, you cud put in mickey mouse or donald duck & get a hit ouda dat!
Larry Willis on Keyboards. This is the line up from the 1972 album New Blood, which was their best in my opinion. Better than the David Clayton Thomas era stuff.
@ReDRuM868 Uhhh, I hate to say this, but if it's the society being image-driven that you hate you'd have to go back to around the time pre-dating the invention of the printing press for your happiness. Let's not kid ourselves that even in this video we are looking at guys who didn't give a crap how they appeared. They didn't dress like cool hippie musicians circa early 70s by some kind of funny coincidental accident.
Jerry is great, and I think his voice has more range that DC's. Take a song like "Touch Me", Jerry sounds a lot b etter than DC could on that on many others. Although, DC was the perfect voice for "You Made Me So..."
Jerry Fisher sings this song great. Some might say that David Clayton Thomas was better, but they both gave this song justice. Can anyone tell me if Jerry Fisher is still singing today, solo or w/ BCT?
hey..someone yank that bozo off the stage..he`s killin the song..i saw him play with b,s, and tears..what a dissapointment..d. claton thomas made the band rock!!...you don`t believe me..go watch david singing this tune..then you will agree..
The music, voice are amazing it has a dept that is more than just cheap pop music. The tones, bass trumpets a whole menage of classic rock & Jazz. Love it
Yes, BS&T saw plenty of personnel changes in a short period of time, and not just on vocals. Al Kooper and Steve Katz sang most leads on the first two albums, as I recall. After Al Kooper was forced out, David Clayton Thomas came on board and for many listeners, defined the BS&T vocal sound. Jerry Fisher (featured here) took over from DCT around 1973. In '76 or '77, DCT led a regrouped but short-lived BS&T line-up.
