  • Good band, but I like too get stoned to sludge, this band is too in-your-face..I'll stick to Kylesa.

  • Baroness demo! Their Best

  • underrated band

  • I'm a new fan now............!!!!!

  • Um why is a Black Veil Brides video the first suggestion? Ahhh the madness!

On another note... AMAZING band! GA sludge at it's best!

  • this is good metal/rock singer and the energy reminds me of Karp, but a little dirgeier(durgier... sp... probably aint a word, what the fuck does it matter)

  • the music is amazing im just not too keen on the vocals, but i will keep listening and hope they grow on me.

  • Ok, this is good. This is what I thought Baroness, mastodon, and high on fire were going to sound like until I actually heard them.

  • CLUTCH= Pure Rock Fury

  • how many mastodon ripoffs does the world need?

  • @dangeresque429 4. But anyway save it for a band that actually sounds like Mastodon.

  • @dangeresque429 as many people that don't know what mastodon sounds like. so starting with you, just 1 so far

  • @centsamilia you're a fucking idiot.

  • @dangeresque429 i'm an idiot because mastodon sounds nothing like black tusk? if you have the gift of hearing don't use it to be such a waste.

  • band kicks ass

  • Savannah metal love! Can't wait to see these back at their hometown next month at the jinx!

  • Stop making me cum, Relapse, my girlfriend is getting jealous

  • Over production ruins acts. Ask Mastodon or Lamb of God how hard it is to reproduce that sound on stage. Did it sound incredible on CD? Hell yes. But when the average listener sees them live for the first time, what will they think?

  • @arak2004 nah LoG can actually reproduce their recordings on stage.Mastodon has the real problm ;p

  • @panoskoni Mastodon are always astonishing live? There songs are 10 times more complicated than Lamb of Gods

  • @destroysubgenres I don't know dude those bands are both extremely complex musically in their own way.

  • I am not here to diss doom/sludge metal. But I do not see the draw to it. It sounds poorly recorded to me, but that is just my opinion.

  • @Zoidbergenstein The genre is meant to have extremely distorted recording.

  • @Zoidbergenstein Some people like a clean, crisp, precise sound. Others like fuzz, distortion, and dissonance. Its all preference. That almost lo-fi sound is on purpose though. This shit really is best played live in a small, dark, hot, venue or basement that smells of sweat, beer, and weed. If that doesn't sound attractive to you, well, then you're probably not the target demographic.

  • @Zoidbergenstein Um...you apparently don't know shit about doom metal. Listen to Moss, Grief, Brainoil, Cathedral, Disembowelment, Eyehategod, early Paradise Lost, Funeral, Mournful Congregation, Mortification, early My Dying Bride, etc.

Stop talking about Mastodon. They're fucking generic mainstream metal shit and lame.

  • @EricParadox you don't know shit

  • Disturbed is mainstream metal shit. Mastodon is actually good

  • Like the drumming, can't say I like everything else.

One of the weirder album covers I have seen.

  • THIS KICKS ASS! I LOVE IT!

  • Dammit! I regret not buying this today!

  • This is why i love the south! FUCK YEAH

  • Damn I love music

  • AWESOME !

  • ummm...FUCK YEAH!!!!!....

  • Holy shit it is time for me to start listening to sludge!

  • @alreadytakenthe3rd Exactly my reaction, too. Haha. \m/

  • @alreadytakenthe3rd Hah! That was my reaction too upon hearing this! This is the best sludge I've ever heard. By a long shot

  • you always know an album will be good when its got John Baizley art

  • @alexpitt5 or if there on relapse records~

  • @alexpitt5 cover always lies

  • @alexpitt5 True story, bro.

  • need to get this album

  • someone just recommended i listen to this band, LOVE IT!!! xD

  • the main riff sounds like The Melvins - The Talking Horse

  • @TheMjolniir i also heard a similarity in riff in the song Melvins(electric flower) and Norma Jean (Bastardizer)

  • this band deserves a better mix engineer...

  • They came to Tulsa with Crowbar and I did'nt go because I hadn't heard them. Damn I feel stupid.

  • I am gonna guess this record was recorded/produced by Philip Cope. I am diggin this song, but sounds a lot like Kylesa especially the vocals.

  • it would be cool to have some of his artwork as a tattoo

  • @highonfire3653

    Kvelertak's artwork would be great

  • @GrandSpiritDesign yea the artwork is sick. Baizley does some sick shit.

  • Black Tusk is mostly associated with Baroness and Kylesa, for their shared hometown of Savannah, as for their sludge metal sound.[1][4] The band is indeed linked to Baroness' guitarist and vocalist John Dyer Baizley, who is also a painter and creates all of Black Tusk's artwork

  • Black Tusk's members describe their music as "swamp metal," a term that has been described by Allmusic as "the murkiest, dirtiest sludge [metal] to come out of Savannah since Kylesa".[6] The term is a reference to the climate of Savannah in relation to the music that the band create

  • I like the uncensored cover more

  • @MassacreTheGods wow it's like your a dictionary do you know everytime about these dudes?

  • @iamthenman2 What you mean, sir?

  • @MassacreTheGods there is an uncensored cover? :D

  • @GdMABtch It was on a blog with the guys from Agoraphobic Nosebleed, but I cannot remember where it was. Ohoho, the girl was doing something else :D

  • @MassacreTheGods LOL SWEET :D Google that shit! :D

  • im gonna see them with cannabis corpse tonight!!!

  • Baroness' Pink Album. Derp derp derp. Hella good with the sludgey-ness.

  • this is the first song they played at black cat in D.C last night... was ok, i guess. The drums were too loud couldn't really hear the guitars very well

  • listening to this you can understand how much are important and will be Mastodon and High On Fire for the metal of tomorrow

  • badass!

  • People need to stop using the word black in their band names.

  • Reminds me of High on Fire, i love it.

  • @SpasmOfJoy I felt the exact same way; this is my first time hearing these guys, and I like.

  • I very much enjoy this piece of music.

  • i love it!

  • The sludgiest, the better.

  • i have to admit im not really a hard core fan at frist this song sounds like everything else but wow the rythem just grew on me amazing

  • Deeeecent!

  • What a masterpiece!!! Five stars.. I love it so much

  • the cover art looks very baroness/kylesa like. I'm just getting into progressive metal. I love it tho this sounds more punkish.

  • @turgore You should check out Bison B.C. if you haven't already.

  • @PosieDada Thanks !

  • @PosieDada One of my favorite bands at the moment!

  • I like Howl more, but Black Tusk is still good in my book.

  • @dieeveryone0102 Manson is a faggot...he sings for children under 12 and is worthless in music history... He's an idol for little girls...

  • @Vivimoth1

    hahahahahah

  • @Vivimoth1 I agree. He is creepy, and not very talented, although i really love that song about the Columbine massacre. good song.

  • sick shit man

  • Definitely a John Baizley album cover. I got this Kylesa Static Tensions LP. Now that's a cool album cover by John!

  • The artwork is amazing. The band of course too!!!

IItś a pity that the US tour will take them the whole year, but maybe we will be able to headbang to them here in Europe in 2011

  • dont know what to get, this album or Baroness's Blue Record

  • @camabama Both??!

  • has anyone else noticed that al ot ov really good bands are from Atlanta I mean mastodon, baroness, these guys, what'll be next?

  • @DethmetalUSA

Black Tusk and Baroness are from Savannah, along with Kylesa. Just had to rep my city :)

  • @LizardIIKing k thats awesome, my friend just showed them to me and i was like "sounds like kylesa and mastodon and baroness had a 3some and came out with this awesome music"

  • im in australia fuck trying to get a copy of this cd

  • art work reminds me of art from baroness

  • @patxr6 Yeah, actually the guitarist/vocalist from Baroness, John Baizley, does Black Tusk's album artwork as well as Baroness' and many other band's album artwork

  • vox sound a bit like slayer

  • "Artwork by John Baizley of Baroness"

  • @GraMortis Looks a lot like em'

  • @GraMortis Seems like John really has an obsession with drawing fat naked pregnant ladies.

  • @GraMortis That is exactly what I thought it was!

  • @GraMortis wish he'd do an artwork for my band!

  • Interesting cover.

  • cool artwork

  • vocals remind me of raised fist. it's alright.

  • pretty nice

  • I like it, feels real sludgy and doomy. The artwork looks like the stuff the guy from Baroness does.

  • I thought the same. It probably is.

  • @crazytacoburger It is the same artist.

  • @crazytacoburger It is.

  • @crazytacoburger The artwork is stuff the guy from Baroness does.

  • @crazytacoburger John Baizley is an amazing artist. He has also worked on Kvelertak and Kylesa stuff :) Not to mention a great musician.

  • @crazytacoburger Yeah, and Pig Destroyer.

  • @crazytacoburger it definitely looks like a Baroness album cover.

  • @crazytacoburger and pig destroyer

  • @crazytacoburger

and that certainly is not a bad thing. but more importantly, their music also is really likeable

  • drrrrrrrrrr
