this is good metal/rock singer and the energy reminds me of Karp, but a little dirgeier(durgier... sp... probably aint a word, what the fuck does it matter)
Over production ruins acts. Ask Mastodon or Lamb of God how hard it is to reproduce that sound on stage. Did it sound incredible on CD? Hell yes. But when the average listener sees them live for the first time, what will they think?
@Zoidbergenstein Some people like a clean, crisp, precise sound. Others like fuzz, distortion, and dissonance. Its all preference. That almost lo-fi sound is on purpose though. This shit really is best played live in a small, dark, hot, venue or basement that smells of sweat, beer, and weed. If that doesn't sound attractive to you, well, then you're probably not the target demographic.
@Zoidbergenstein Um...you apparently don't know shit about doom metal. Listen to Moss, Grief, Brainoil, Cathedral, Disembowelment, Eyehategod, early Paradise Lost, Funeral, Mournful Congregation, Mortification, early My Dying Bride, etc.
Stop talking about Mastodon. They're fucking generic mainstream metal shit and lame.
Black Tusk is mostly associated with Baroness and Kylesa, for their shared hometown of Savannah, as for their sludge metal sound.[1][4] The band is indeed linked to Baroness' guitarist and vocalist John Dyer Baizley, who is also a painter and creates all of Black Tusk's artwork
Black Tusk's members describe their music as "swamp metal," a term that has been described by Allmusic as "the murkiest, dirtiest sludge [metal] to come out of Savannah since Kylesa".[6] The term is a reference to the climate of Savannah in relation to the music that the band create
this is the first song they played at black cat in D.C last night... was ok, i guess. The drums were too loud couldn't really hear the guitars very well
The metal militia will be attacking Justin Bieber's video (justin bieber baby ft. ludacris) on the FOURTH OF JULY! Assemble all fans of good music in every genre! @LizardIIKing k thats awesome, my friend just showed them to me and i was like "sounds like kylesa and mastodon and baroness had a 3some and came out with this awesome music"
@patxr6 Yeah, actually the guitarist/vocalist from Baroness, John Baizley, does Black Tusk's album artwork as well as Baroness' and many other band's album artwork
man every time i jump on youtube i find mad bands but to hear what has to be the best hardcore band ive ever heard PS so getting cover art tattooed on
Good band, but I like too get stoned to sludge, this band is too in-your-face..I'll stick to Kylesa.

@Zoidbergenstein The genre is meant to have extremely distorted recording.
