When you do upgrades like exhaust it throws your air to fuel ratio off, so remapping is tuning the fuel injection system to work with your new set up.

That's the problem I did not know that the 1000 was not welded on.. I was told all the 2008 gsxr's were welded.. Sorry! Guess I am stuck buying a full system

thats strange mine wass not welded. but here is something you can do to save you a lot of money if you do not want a full system. Send me a PM and ill explain more to you

My cat box is welded onto the header, the dealership told me I would have to have someone cut it off and then buy a full exhaust system. where did you get your midpipe from?

wait do you have an 08 GSX-R 600/750 or 1000?

The cat should not be welding on to the 08 GSX-R1000 at all they only welded the 08 600/750's. mine was simply bolted on and the midpipe came with the M4 exhaust.

How did you elimate the cat box on the 08? I have a M4 on my bike now and it sounds horrible with the cat box attached. Any suggestions

I just removed it from the header, the cats on our bikes are bolted on.

nope, thoes are vortex rearsets, they are the best, they grip into your feet verynicly, no footsliping either

yes is does keep the 02 sensor plugs right into the mini midpipe it come with, and the M4 shorty muffler like mine you see does not come in carbon fiber only black or aluminum. so i got the black one, best $300 i ever spend nice and loud, it roars with a grumble, and also i know M4 has another model with a longer midpipe and longer muffler that come in carbon fiber, but have not hurd it yet.

no i did not, the M4 gives alot of power so i dont need, and the m4 works fine without the power commander

Be honest my friend has an 07 and it feels jittery when you ride it, the dealship even did a S/W upgrade to the E.C.U but no help, it feels jittery cause the 07 was the 1st year the have the 3 riding modes and it still had bugs.

But my 08 rides so nice no problems at all with the riding modes or anything

i hurd bad things about the 08 cbr1000, and ive only owned gsxr's never was a big fan of kawasaki or honda, my friend has a 02 cbr600f4i he sold it and got a gsx 750
