@ggmm76 it functions like a normal computer, just slower and in a much smaller case, so you should be able to sync phones and all that

havent you thought about running snow leopard on the dell mini 10v i did and it runs beautifly and you'll have a MacBook Mini

@ipodhakka i have run it on there, and for what i use it for, there's pretty much no point. the resolution of the netbook makes a lot of programs i use on the mac side useless. linux on a netbook is a much better way to go simply because there's active support that doesn't involve massive amounts of workarounds.

You can take video with ANY webcam. As far as taking the video and the effects, it doesn't come with any to my knowledge. It's a netbook, it's not going to be fancy. I've used the webcam for YouTube one or twice. It works just fine.

i've taken the SSD out because i've found out that the SSD has no cache, which makes it a pile of shit, lol. i have a 7200 rpm hard drive in it now, but i'd think that the graphics would be the bottleneck rather then the hard drive.

oh yeah, you could easily do that, i'm just not sure if it would be very comfortable doing it on that small screen. also, encoding will be very slow on the Atom processor because it's a single core. You could definately use it for doing that though.

How did you get 2 GB of ram? Isn't the dell 10v standard delivered with only 1 GB of ram or did you perhaps upgrade it like you see on youtube? I just got mine today, so i am curious:)

wait luke, is this the inspiron, cause I have that and I kind of hated it for what I do. It was a good computer for on the go interface programming for game menus, but otherwise sucked for doing my graphics work for the games. If not, either way I'm not a fan of mini's regardless.

yes, it is an Inspiron. Dell Mini 10v. yeah, the Intel GMA 950 will be way too underpowered for what you do. it's in no way designed for gaming. obviously you need a higher end computer for that. the quad core desktop computer you have is perfect for it most likely. more upgradable and everything. i got this computer specifically just to take to class and for light travel.

Thanks for the detailed review. I keep trying to convince myself I have a need for one of these, but right now I really don't. I do prefer Dell's version over most others, although I wish it was available without the ultra-glossy finish on the case and display.
