  • very cool song, I love the vibe -I hear the influences you listed but you made it your own

  • those are cool machines would like one the new korg emx 1 is pretty fun to play with ive had a few chances to they have vaccum tubes and all great sound quality comin out of them

  • pretty cool.

    keepin' it oldschool.

  • With no exaggeration this song got me into a genre I never would have listened to. Years later I'm still coming back to this track and I'm two years into making my own tracks. Thank you for this. You showed me the light! I honestly would not have gotten into production had I not heard this track. I know you are emulating the old school sound but I've been through most of the "classics" and this is seriously better. The 303 line gets stuck in my head at least 3 times a week and never gets old!

  • @Elotium Thanks, glad to have inspired you ;)

  • @Elotium One off the best 303 sounds in my opinion is still in this track: Public energy-Three o' three

  • Awesome man, sun-drenched vibes.

  • ...absolutely unreal tune !! i love u for it !!!!!

  • hey dude, nice..do u hve a finished mix yet???????

  • Got the littile brother of this box beatiful sound for a rompler and great for acid :D

  • ACID HOUSE! Wow I miss those days, good stuff man. Tired of all the deadmau5 clones on youtube. Work on the mixdown and mastering and release this style of music again!

  • ACEEEEEEDDDDD

  • 4:33 XD *BUMP*

  • awesome vibe...takes me back to late 80's early 90's....kinda fushion of baby ford, the orb, and tyree all thrown into one!.

    Quality work fella!

  • awesome :):)

  • I usually come by to listen to summer in Detroit. I've heard this mix before. But I don't think I've began to respect it fully until now, having listened to it through and through. This is some futureretro classic stuff!

Hope to see your stuff pressed one day. Maybe it would read

    "Daren 'Jackmaster' ager".

  • WOW, breathtaking song! Wish I knew what track were Spectralis and which are RS? Maybe one day I could produce a great song. I guess the hi-hats and clap are from the RS7000 and the bass is Spectralis. I don't have eather. But I could get them now. I am thinking about it.

  • @CoffeeKills Thanks, this track is all RS7000 no Spectralis

  • @darenager :( the speckie seems lonely...

  • @darenager where do you get the money for all the gear :) i spend all my wages on gear, just ordered a system 8a from mos-lab --- the sickness continues ha Keep it acid :)

  • Lovely track. Love the 303

  • AUTHENTIC SOUNDS MAN...REALLY NOT HEARD ANY ORIGINAL STUFF LIKE THIS FOR YEARS...

  • do you midi up your RS to your other synths to control them? I'm enjoying your vids. Your funky and minimal..

  • omg I would die to creat that feel ;)

  • Yo Daren did you listen in the past to Fast Eddie and Tyree, your style looks like them. They are my hero's in the acid house scene.Your acidstyle is so great you are a hero too.Keep the acid alive.

    Greetings from Holland

  • @Richmexicogd...I'm 41 years old and love acid too!!!!

In 1988,it was my favourite acid year....:-))

    greets from germany..to darenager too....

  • Nice tune, I really like the influences, the only thing I would say is that you should arrange it better so that the parts don't come in too soon because it can sound rushed and cluttered. Space it out better and you have a terrific little tune there, really nice and oldskool.

  • my subwoofer totally diggs that bassline!

  • Great!

  • Wicked!

  • Beautiful acid b-line

  • listened to this since you first put this on youtube and it keeps getting fuckin better....loads of luv..........................

  • Nice rmx, I will try somthing like that with the sound I listen to, in 1991, first Rave in France, sounds was a lot like this too, very happy and innocent, but sometime more strange and xtrem !

Do you use Ableton. I've it with an APC40... Probably u prefer RS7000 ?

  • They don't do it enough like that nowadays...

    I love this track

  • good sound.

  • This is great. It has an amazing lo-fi early house feel to it. Amazing stuff that can be done on a single machine.

  • @eddycerb darenager.bandcamp.com/track/halcyon-days-live-mix?permalink

  • Wonderfull keep working on this stuff and i'm sure if you release these tunes people will buy them as it reminds them of happier days like me!

  • Just amazing Daren! Captures that late 80's innocence. Peace love joy. You're like a modern day Jamie Principle these days...just keeping rocking those machines and letting them sing. That's all it is about in the end... nothing else matters ... just releasing the joy inside them and liberating them from years of neglect. Your tracks are uniquely proper... every one is an instant vibe thing that just reaches out and kicks you in the nuts and wakes you up to the world where you belong.

  • @shagghie Coming from you that means a lot, respect man ;)

  • love love love this track!

  • Great Kick!!!

  • Did you make that TB 303 sound later in the mix using the RS7000? I have one so I would like to learn how to do that cause I haven`t been able to get it to sound like that. Please message me if you would like to share your knowledge on that. Great tune!! Cheers.

  • nice bassline took me some time to figure that out

  • Hi. Based on your trax and the work done by Denkitribe, I purchased an EMX-1 and KAOSS pad....and just picked up an ES-1 Mk II and ER-1 on eBay. These tools, coupled with my VoiceLive 2, Electro-Harmonix Voice Box, and Korg/Behringer controllers should help me make some sweet J-Pop/J-Rock tunes and vocals.. Can't wait to get everything hooked up and coupled to my AT-2020 microphones! Again, thanks for your trax!

  • this is a great piece of acid 5/5

  • choice

or are you adding sounds and so forth?

    please let me in bro

i need to know, im tied by this and so many other hardware units... what to this day do u think is the best to go with?

  • I am using some samples for the 303 line and 808, the rest are internal waveforms editied to suit.

I would recommend that you try a few different models out and see which you connect with best.

    Thanks

  • Those machines are worth a milion - how do you afford it man? - and do anyone of you know where to get in touch with the roland tr-707,808 or 909's?

  • They're not that expensive.

I got my 303 for a very reasonable price from a professional musician selling it.

  • The thing i love about Acid house is it is So Raw! And 2 be honest it Would be Really Easy 2 Produce!! i love how such simple sounds, really Captured the imagination of So many people Back in the Day!! it Wouldnt cut it for The New Breed Of Raver's!! Thats a Fact! and i think thats a Shame!! i Love Acid house!

  • I have the same way organized working space - RS7000 and Spectralis. :-))

  • advice.....the sequence you have when the 303 comes in sounds good, but all your sounds before and after that are kinda cheezy.....also, dont use such an abvious hi in your beats.....other than that, its pretty good
