  • What the heck is happening here?! Context, please?

  • WHAT THE FUCK WHICH EPISODE

  • Even in this episode Enterprise managed to suck. They had a Golden opportunity tell the story about early years of human exploration, the birth of the federation, and events that lead to the Earth Romulan war.

But no, they stole the plot from Dr Who, portrayed the crew as a bunch of emotional cripples, and ruined what could have been the greatest Star Trek Series of all time.

  • Ok, I've never seen the Mirror Episode of Enterprise.

The crew of the NX are now the crew of the Constitution class Enterprise?

Who the hell are the crew of this new NX?

  • @x82ndODSTx It's been a while since I've seen the episodes, so there goes my power to explain everything... but the crew of the Mirror NX found the Prime Universe's Constitution Defiant - the ship that disappeared in the "Tholian Web" episode of TOS. Some of the crew that stayed on the NX are mirror versions of characters we've seen in various episodes. Also, This two-parter has nothing to do with the Prime Universe's NX-01. Just the Mirror's :)

  • @fountainkeeper Ok, I'm gonna have to watch this episode.

I never liked the idea of Star Trek: Enterprise, but this does look pretty cool.

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • Long live the Terran Empire! But frankly my favorite series was Deep Space 9 but TOS and Enterprise was also very impressive naturally.

  • Why all this arguing over which is better, TOS or TNG? Can't we all come together in the spirit of Trek's message of infinite diversity in infinite combinations to agree that they're both far superior to Enterprise?

  • @JimPlaysGames

My DOG has produced things far superior to Enterprise.

  • @SovereignStatesman The irony of you calling me a troll is just mind boggling considering all you've done in the comments I've read is insult peoples opinions and just be a general asshat. And when someone calls you out on being an asshole, you call them an asshole, and a troll. Classy.

Like you, I hate enterprise. But I won't turn into a rabid dog over someones opinion. Ease up, or get off the internet. If asking you to chill makes me a troll, then you have issues, friend.

  • @SkywindAidal

There you go trolling again, insulting people over things that don't concern you.

    Fuck off.

  • @SovereignStatesman The term you're looking for is white knighting. And this next one coming up is flaming: Fucktard. This next shot is trolling: Learn to speak internet.

Me calling you an asshole because you're being an asshole, isn't insulting. It's speaking the god damn truth. Now stop your trolling, cease your pointless commenting, and leave peoples opinions alone you elitist prick.

@clerickolter To each their own, I just hate it when people force their views on others.

  • @SkywindAidal

You're a homosexual child-raping pedophile, and that's just telling the truth.

  • @JimPlaysGames I see what you did there. And I was amused.

  • That Vulcan on the NX Enterprise was a bitch. If I am going to die then I am going to take them with me. TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE! RAMMING SPEED!

  • @50Calabyte

Not only that, they made T'Pau from Amok Time" into a bitch as well.

They made ALL Vulcans into human-hating bitches, even the men.

In TOS, Vulcans were uber-cool and mysterious and had razor-sharp senses of humor, but Brannon Braga made them into stuck-up bitches with sticks up their asses.

    Pretty telling.

  • @SovereignStatesman And of course. Dat Goatee.

  • The Torpedos are RED! NOT BLUE. but other then that This is Very Kickass

  • @jeun3sih Those torpedoes in the TOS 2nd and 3rd season were blue/white, It was on

  • @KJOSCOT

Yeah but so were the ones in The Motion Picture.

  • @jeun3sih

That was later. Look at Star Trek: The Motion Picture where Chekov fires the torpedo at the asteroid; it's bluish-white.

  • TNG and TOS are constantly debated, but TNG is better written, has better acting and effects, and when the action scenes happen they are pretty darn cool. Plus the AWESOME movie First Contact.

You could argue that nostalgia-wise, TOS is great, but that's all it really has.

  • @MrImastinker TOS has much more respect among Sci-Fi pundits than TNG. And more story awards, like the HUGO. TNG was just well advertised.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrImastinker People see TOS as this holy grail of TV, but if you go back and watch it, you realize that it really isn't that great. Like you said, nostalgia-wise it's awesome.

  • @50Calabyte

Bullshit. TOS is better than any of the other Trek.

And episodes like "Balance of Terror" and "The Doomsday Machine" are classic, others prophetic etc.

  • @50Calabyte Not true. I watched it a couple years ago after all these new fangled Treks were out. It really was something special. They captured something really wonderful in that old show. Granted, I really couldn't keep watching after I got into Season 3... But the first two had me hooked.

  • @ProtoformX

    It was "special" all right.

    As in RETARDED special.

If they had to go back and leech off TOS in the Mirror Universe, with nothing to do with the real universe, then they've just Jumped the Shark and gone down bullshit-trail.

And the interphases in The Tholian Web did NOT go to the Mirror Universe.

  • @SovereignStatesman You misunderstood. I meant TOS was special. Not Enterprise, or the mirror universe episodes of Enterprise.

  • @50Calabyte

If TOS isn't the greatest, then why is Enterprise leeching off of it instead of TNG, DS9 or VOY?

Obviously it IS the best. The others are lame, preachy, politically-correct, boring, wimpy etc.

  • @MrImastinker First Contact ain't that awesome, it's essentially Die Hard in space, fairly poor as a Star Trek movie.

  • @MrImastinker All true....if only First Contact made any sense whatsoever. Three words that place TOS above TNG: Wrath of Khan.

  • Awesome indeed!

  • Ok, this is crap.

They're obviously trying to say that the Enterprise NX-01 could beat the Enterprise NCC-1701 if some dork just tips over some thingy?

First of all, they've got auxiliary power, and then batteries; also they've got impulse power, which we've seen was enough to fight the Doomsay Machine or the Klingons in "Elaan of Troyus." The ship doesn't just go dead.

Third, the photon torpedes still work.

This is why Enterprise got cancelled-- i.e. it SUCKED!

  • MORE ! MORE ! MORE ! - we want MORE MIRROR TREK - no more soft Trek where every one ends up as friends after 50 minutes.....

Lets hope the next TREK TV series is based upon the MIRROR and no more silly getting lost on the other side of who knows where or sitting around in a bar in a space station crap....

  • @mikeismad61 Or just make it like TOS or early TNG, when there was still something to shoot at.

  • Exactly ! ST got too soft and PC for its own good. Check out the best BSG or B5 if you want action and acting

  • Ouch!

  • "Lock onto their reactor." *Torpedoes blanket the entire primary hull*

  • @MrMacSpiffy he said lock on to reactor of the last ship they blew up

  • well i guess that solves the mystery of who wins in a space battle between kirk and archer if they were both commanding there usual ships

  • gotta love these episodes!

  • I have seen this two-part episode, 'In a Mirror, Darkley'. While making this episode, the cast and crew were told the series was being cancelled.

  • They should have had a galaxy class or sovereign class come out of a random temporal anomaly and own them all.

  • Thank god they cancelled this show, it was getting ridiculous

  • these were probably the best enterprise episodes, even though they made no sense with in canon of trek

  • @jnwestray78 :: they made sense... if you ever saw any of the mirror universe episodes, starting with the episode "Mirror, Mirror" from TOS

  • Comment removed

  • @jnwestray78 Yeah, I generally didn't like Enterprise, but some episodes, like this one, were pretty cool

  • @DJDelta0

Yep it sucked ass for 5 years until they leeched off TOS-- because that's the ONLY time the Franchise ever got it right!

  • @SovereignStatesman Yeah. Haha, the one ENT episode I'll never forget was the one where they encountered the BORG. That messed up everything! If the Enterprise of the 22nd Century could defeat them THAT easily, then Starfleet 200 years later should've had NO trouble with them. There would've been some Starfleet document about how the Borg would soon come to the Federation and try to assimilate them.

  • @DJDelta0 Well First Contact happened before Enterprise, so I read somewhere that some of those Borg survived, and that's what Enterprise encountered.

    Or something lame like that

The Borg are stronger in numbers since it enables them to adapt faster, so if there are only a few of them then they are more vulnerable.

I don't know, I never watched Enterprise, it was just too stupid... like Jaws 4 or something, i.e. it was "the last sequel, since it lost money."

  • @SovereignStatesman Still, the Federation should've been watching out for the Borg. Yeah, I didn't watch Enterprise either. I just saw a few episodes and was like "forget this." I've also never seen DS9... Haven't gotten around to it yet

  • @DJDelta0 "Still, the Federation should've been watching out for the Borg."

    No shit, it's retcon-city.

But that's the entire series right there, from the name Enterprise itself; that name wasn't even famous in Star Trek until Kirk's time.

As for DS9, it's also pretty lame except for the few space-battles.

  • @SovereignStatesman The other series aren't THAT bad. I prefer TOS to all othe Star Trek series, but seriously, ease up and shut up. You act like an asshole. NONE of the TOS crew would like you at all, and they are pretty danged tolerant.

  • @Idazmi7

You've got your head up your ass.

  • @SovereignStatesman I thought Star Trek fans were smart fora second: how is that even possible goofball? I like TOS, but, as I said before, you are an ass. And, apparently, you wouldn't give shit for the Prime Directive.

Stop it before I report you for harassment.

  • @jnwestray78 Wasn't that because they were in the Mirror Universe? Made perfect sense to me.

  • @unnamednewbie13 Okay, it does not make sense because in TOS in the mirror universe it was an exact copy of our universe. But it could not be an exact copy becuase a ship from the future had gone back in time and changed the mirror universe.

  • Linda Park is really hot.

  • Comment removed

  • The ending of this episode is the best! :)

  • This show was bullshit. Why don't they just redo everything...and you people eat this shit up.

  • You screwed the sound up. You screwed the speed up.

  • You screwed the aspect ratio up.

  • Who were the good guys in this?

  • my nerd sences are tingling....

  • 0:44 seconds in.

    "God, I'm a douche."

  • Comment removed

  • Did anyone else get a gigantic boner watching this?

  • The dark mirror episodes was easy one the best episodes

  • RAISE THEM!!!.......duh

  • Ah, man, they shot up and killed the Vulcans!

  • That was... absolutely thrilling.

  • T'Pol was a bitch on heat and I loved watching her slut her way around the ship in that naughty TOS costume.

  • thats one very hot space elf.

  • Enterprise E owns them all.

  • @MrImastinker Narada > Enterprise E

  • @PrinceSaschaVykos No, the Narada fires really slow "torpedoes" that could be easily shot down by any normal Star Trek ship, even the 1966 Enterprise.

  • @PrinceSaschaVykos

GTFO out of here with that Abramsverse shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @80smusicfanNO1 It was actually more as a STFU to the Enterprise E snobbery.

Read between the lines. The Original series is still the best of them all. So what if a ship like Voyager or the Ent E "owns" the classic constitution class? Didn't make for an interesting show with an interesting crew. Or make the Next Gen films anywhere near as good as Wrath of Khan.

Can't think of something worse than saying an Abrahms ship can whip the E.

  • @PrinceSaschaVykos The Abrams ship has more snobbery. And the TOS Enterpise had better torpedoes than Narada: It could kill continents. (So could TNG, at a faster firing rate)

  • @PrinceSaschaVykos "The Original series is still the best of them all."

Up until the end of Season 2, then it pretty much went to shit with "The Turd Season."

Wrath of Khan sucked too, it turned Noonien Sing into Darth Khan.

In Space Seed he wanted to save the human race from stagnation, not destroy it; and he learned his lesson too. All lost.

Oh well, it's not my train-set.

  • Well I don't get what you were doing exactly, but I agree I hate it when people talk about one ship "owning" the other when they're all just fictional. As for TOS being the best of them all, er no. Its outdated and the writing isn't as complex, or characterization as deep as what we got in DS9. Even VOY had a lot better episodes. People need to stop acting like TOS is the holy grail and they were the only characters that worked *SCOFF*. People who say that mostly havent watched newer trek anyway

  • Comment removed

  • @80smusicfanNO1

    Fictional? NO, you're KIDDING!

DS9 SUCKED, they boldly went NOWHERE.

    And Voyager came BACK!

TOS IS the Holy Grail of sci-fi TV, NOTHING has ever matched it.

    NOTHING.

When I see a movie called "Wrath of Q" I'll notice.

  • @PrinceSaschaVykos No. It was corny, it's outdated, it's stories made little sense, and the acting was laughable (looking at you, Shatner). For the record, First Contact was fantastic, and just as cool as Wrath of Khan. Any sensible fan or film critic would say so.

  • @MrImastinker

Bullshit, TOS was classic, ahead of its time, scientific and symbolic.

And the acting was just like the director wanted it to be.

And I'd take Kirk's snappy inflection over Picard's pompous blather anytime.

  • @PrinceSaschaVykos Actually, they fought pretty evenly.

  • @MrImastinker

    Enterprise E was pointless

  • @80smusicfanNO1 explain how so. did you ever see nemesis? did you see the kind of firepower that beast has? 12 type XII phaser arrays, 2 fore and 2 aft photon launchers, a pulse fire quantum turret. fucker will blow pretty much anything into the stars. except the scimitar obviously...

  • @KymeraGR7

The battle in Nemesis had the ships firing at each other constantly while Data read out shield percentages *yawn*. What I meant was that replacing the Ent-D for the big screen was pointless, there was no good reason to do it.

  • @80smusicfanNO1

Except show it getting destroyed by crashing into a planet....you're right, *yawn* (as in SEEN IT! Star Trek III anyone?)

  • @KymeraGR7 First Contact was the only Trek Next Gen movie worth a crap.

  • @silentbob8201

Anything with the Borg is automatically crap. That S&M cyber-cult jumped the shark decades ago.

You want a good movie, have them get rid of Q.

  • @SovereignStatesman

Q sucked worse than the Borg, I can't stand DeLancie. Anyway, I agree the Borg kind of jumped the shark but I felt that only really happened with "Unimatrix Zero" in Voyager. Voyager kinda made good use out of them with "Scorpion", "Dark Frontier" and the character of Seven. But it was with "Unimatrix Zero" that they really made the Borg retarded, stupid and lame.

  • @KymeraGR7

Defiant would throw their poop at it LOL

  • @SovereignStatesman LOL i guess. i find it funny how i asked about just a small portion of the movie and these fools start yammering about whats the best movie. i never said it was the best. but the fact of the matter is though... if you look at ship performance stats, the sovereign is a respectable vessel in comparison to most of the other things it seems to face against.

  • @MrImastinker then a single BC304 comes and kills them all.. stargate #1 =P

  • @178thbattlegroup Ouch! I'll admit, that was pretty funny.

  • @MrImastinker lol its like i come out of no where. its star trek vs starwars.. then i say.

"guys guys guys.. you have been fighting for ever.. and i think we can both agree... stargate is better then both of you =P (insert troll face)

  • @178thbattlegroup

    Yeah that and Narnia.

  • @SovereignStatesman With all respect to your opinion, could you stop bludgeoning everyone over the head with yours? disrespectful, and rude. Shows are often acquired tastes. I can't stand TOS for three reasons.

    One: Bones.

    Two: Kirk

Three: Every sound those computers make cause near instant headaches.

If someone else pissed in your coffee, state your opinion then throw the cup away. Stop being an ass with you're "I'M RIGHT YOU'RE ALL WRONG" attitude. It's just a show, Jesus

  • @SkywindAidal

I never even addressed you, so fuck off asshole.

    Fucking troll.

  • I do NOT remember this episode...

  • @MercedesDieselGuy episode 18 and 19 from season 4 or 17 and 18 from season 4 in star trek enterprise

  • @bovb902 And I thought I'd seen EVERY Enterprise. I guess not. I would have remembered this. Now I need to track down the episode and see this in context.

  • to bad they did not go to'' the dark side'.....' to finish the show -is it time to see another show on tv .y./n.

  • 3 peoples have heart

  • Targeting the hull, not the bridge?

    FAIL.

  • That's the Defiant...

  • @GarlicPudding uhhh... neither of those ships are Defiant class...

  • @Aegoram No, but the Constitution ship is named the Defiant.

  • @GarlicPudding It's the TOS era Defiant.

  • I remember seeing this episode. I would be surprised if the Constitution couldn't defeat an NX-01 class ship though, it was over 100 years ahead of them

  • I must have missed this ep... :(

  • So why is Archer talking like Robert De Niro?

  • This is what the "Enterprise" series should have been like - would might have lasted longer.. This is good stuff and actually watchable, much better to stay with the real Trek.

  • Comment removed

  • Constitution Class: Don't worry series! I'll save you!

  • They should of made a Star Trek series like this, with the Constitution Class and the new special effects but the old uniforms and classic designs....believe me every nostalgic Trekkie would eat it up!

  • @darthroden There is one. It's a fan series called Star Trek Phase II

  • @mastereder3000 Calling New Voyages "Phase II" is blasphemy. New Voyages is horrible. The only people who recommend it are TNG haters, something I didn't even know existed until I visited the NV imdb forum.

  • @darthroden I would and I was born in the 90;s

  • And they said TOS aesthetics couldnt work with todays FX technology.

Beats that crappy JJ Abrams stuff by a mile.

  • AWSOME!!!

  • If Earth had a large amount of nukes in this time period, it could have destroyed the Defiant with advanced ICBM's. Then again, maybe nuclear weapons were banned after their third world war.

  • @enterprise160 Nukes have little effect on starships shields. They hit the Enterprise with one during "Return To Tomorrow", when the Enterprise had to return that Air Force pilot because his son led the first manned flight to Saturn.

  • Of course the TOS Constitution would have kicked ass; it's 100 years more advanced in technology.

  • lol t'pol: i recomend we Archer:fire when ready

  • that is the USS Defiant

  • @bovb902 ? What? Everyone knows that.

  • Too bad they never made the Constitution class look bad ass in the TOS

    .

  • @TheCKA757 I dunno, Enterprise kicked a pretty decent amount of ass in Balance of Terror--especially if you ignore the early-episode weirdness.

  • I did not understand this ep so much. I didn't get why, when the defiant's systems were down, the avenger didn't just slow to a stop in front of them and fire continuously. If they'd done that, they would have won.

  • @GortonMichael perhaps you should become a series writer, since you know the best way the narrative should go in the scene...

  • @crocodilewrestler It's more like common sense. I reckon many people here could just look at many scenes in ST and be like, wtf, why are you doing that? Do this! And then sigh as you realise that stupidity is the only option.

    (TVTROPES)

  • No real surprise. The Constitution class would be far more powerful than the NX-class by virtue of it being quite far into the future from when the NX was around, and therefore, equipped with more advanced weapons and shields.

  • @Sunburn2007 .....thanks for stating the obvious. The 'surprise' you're missing would be realized by watching the entire episode. The events in this story lead to a surprising scenario of the NX-class being in a position to overpower a Constitution-class.

  • this episode was just wrong

  • Thumbs up if you enjoyed watching a Constitution class blow up an NX class.

  • @PerryWhyte Only one thing is better than a Constitution class blowing an NX class up: A Constitution Refit doing it. That in my opinion was the best looking form of the Constitution Class was the Refit configuration.

  • @PerryWhyte Lol, it was like TOS reminding ENT why it's on the bottom of the Trek hiearchy. This Mirror episode was pretty much the only good episode of that series.

  • @aseriousman91 Actually the crap JJ put out is on the bottom, with Voyager slightly above it, Enterprise especially in it's last 2 seasons was on par with DS9 and TNG.

  • @ExplorerXIII You're right about the new movie being terrible and I've never seen Voyager so I don't really have an opinion on that one, but ENT had way too much convoluted time travel nonsense to be enjoyable. I jumped over to BSG because of it and I blame Brannon Braga for that. Trek would have been wise to keep Ron Moore as a showrunner.

  • @aseriousman91 The time travel stuff was only a few episodes and they rapped up that story in the first 2 episodes of season 2, I actually found the Temporal Cold war a new and interesting concept unfortunately the fans didn't warm to it. Trust me try season 4 again you'll love it, the Klingons, Augments, Andorians, the Birth of the Federation and the Romulans.
