  • Glen hudges is a legend

  • The basist is completly ignored in the video..we only see outtakes of him here and there. Probbaly they ran out of budget to put any light there but still that must taking the visual evidence of your presence in the same video with guitar lord Iommi.

  • @farhan24ift

The bass player for the album wasn't an official member of Sabbath which is why you didn't see much of him in the video. Geezer Butler wasn't in the band at the time. Butler is an amazing bassist.

  • @bthere100 Yes,what I know is his name is Lawrence Cottle and he is a session bass player, that's why he doesn't appear too much...

  • hes's way better than ozzy in my opinion, I mean, Ozzy has his own style and I like him, but he can't sing at all

  • не знаю,конечно black sabath был очень популярным,но как вокал мне тони мартин больше нравится,не говоря и о дио.

  • Black Sabbath is like the opposite of Stryper

  • Headless cross? I think i did something like that in my haunted house like that

  • It's true, Tony Martin isn't Ozzy or Dio...but he has his own style and this song brings the thunder.

  • iommi invented heavy metal

  • Nothing against this singer But I feel it`s not TRUELY Black Sabbath without Ozzy :/

  • @liz2saintvideos no forget to Dio

  • @Preso74 true Dio was a great singer RIP I have nothing but respect for Tony Martin for trying but I think Dios & Ozzys shoes were just too BIG for him to fill

  • overall i like it. i remember seeing this video in the 80s on headbanger's ball and totally not getting it, i wanted the raw bludgeoning of the first 6 ozzy albums. but now i like the atmosphere of the "goth-y" keyboards, the riff and solo are killer as usual for tony, and i like martin's dio-like lower notes, butnot so much his high notes. the slick 80's click track drum sound is weird for sabbath though.

  • I agree with dntmetal, it was almost impossible that he could fit in Dio's or Ozzy's shoes, he was a great singer though, I have been trying to follow more of his music, but it is hard to find everything he has done, but some material he did with Phenomena and Aldo Giuntini are great I recommend it

  • gami to tragoudi

    fvnara o martin

  • 12 assholes go straight to hell!!!

  • FUCK YEAH! SABBATH's BEST ALBUM EVER!

  • This song is badass

  • NEIL MURRAY PLAY THE BASS IN THIS RECORD. MAYBE THE GUY IN THIS VIDEO WAS ONLY A STUNT PLAYER

  • @ELHIJODEHARRY69

Yes, that's Lawrence Cottle--he was one of my bass teachers back in 1985. He was just in the video, not on the record. Lawrence is/was a great bassist, check out his stuff with The Fents' 2nd album!

  • @pmwc1159 THANKS. ANOTHER ODD FACT IN THE HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL

  • @pmwc1159 Cottle plays on the record!

  • @Hellenicwarrior84

Cool--thanks, I had no idea he was on the whole album! I always thought it was weird that he got virtually no "face time" in the video, and thought he was just miming!

  • Rather than argue about Tony Martin vs Ozzy vs Dio - just accept the fact that Black Sabbath is an extended family dynasty. Treat it like an italian family. The "glue" that keeps the family together is of course Tony Iomi & Vinny Apice & Geezer Butler. The dynasty kings (all equal) are Tony Martin, Ozzy & Dio. The long list of "cousins" are the fans ..... imagine an italian fiesta of pasta, wine, pizza & olives while Tony Iomi plays an impromtu performance next to the dinner table - "The family".

  • @Stealthkeys77 two things, 1: Bill Ward was the original drummer, and the band is from Britain lol, but yes Dio is Italian. Ozzy is the most known, but to me its Dio then Tony then Ozzy, (im not familiar enough with ray to judge his singing)

  • @Stealthkeys77 I completely agree with you I just defend Tony Martin because of his bashers.

  • Tony Martin is the best singer to ever be with Black Sabbath and damn everyone who says differently

  • The best Black Sabbath there is! I met Tony Martin at the Forbidden tour (1995) at Appollo Manchester. Great guy and hell of a singer.

  • 12 people are deaf and blind, go listen to bieber faggot

  • Killersong...

  • A perfect combination of 70's witchcraft and 80's freshness.

  • TONY MARTIN RULES

  • One of the best songs ever. He is GREAT! Love Tony Martin!!!

  • Very good track!!!!

  • This is my favorite Sabbath album. It's just, so fokkin there man. Besides, Martin can pull off the Dio songs rather well in concert.I was dubitably impressed.

  • Tony Martins no Ozzy, Ronnie or Ian, but he is so awesome, enough said

  • the definition of metal are the fingers of tony iommi...

  • @9118693223

At least, what remained of them ;)

  • You don't need to be a non-christian to listen to this music, I'm a christian and Black Sabbath is my favorite band

  • The last awesome song by sabbath ( in my opinion of course). Cozy Powell was a drum bomber . R.I.P COZY !

  • @doureiosonos cozy was rainbows best drummer! may he RIP

  • why does the camera never show the bassist??????

  • I have listened to Sabbath for years and I feel the different singer have brought different elements to the band to make it survive the years

  • Painful to listen to.....painful to watch!!!! Just sayin'!!!!!!

  • Sabbath ! Damm bloody Sabbath :D.

  • Tony Martin era Sabbath is my favorite

  • I remember the first time I watched this video. It was an old vhs cassete, I was about 17 and when I saw the monks rising a huge cross in the dark night chills ran down my spine. The same thing happened when I've just watched his video here. That's what we all really need - true, real metal videos.

  • Amazing song! one of my favorite if not THE favorite of my 80s Sabbath songs. Tony Martin was an awesome singer. In my opinion, he and Dio (not to forget Ian Gillan) compete for the place as Sabbath's best vocalist. Ozzy will always be my favorite Sabbath front-man tho

  • Thats a sick lookin jacket Iommi's got there :P

  • this is 20 effing years later and it is still THE SONG

  • Great!my first Sbabt song!\m/

  • if you are referring to ozzy being your "ideal" lineup, well sorry to break it to you but he sucks

  • @chrishill1231 Ok sorry, but English is not my native language.......................

  • @chrishill1231 Your response is f........ng rubbish, what the hell do you mean????

  • i prefer the type of the voice of Tony....no ofense!!!!

  • Love Tonny's vocals on this as well still can't help but wonder how Ronnie would have covered this .. it almost seems as if this song would fit Ronnies vocal style

  • Very good track with Tony Martin. :D

  • this a great song and video.

  • Tony Martin is better than Dio

  • @VITORPIMENT tony martin is a good singer don't get me wrong about that but no one can beat dio

  • I saw black sabbath with ozzy, dio ,the late ray gillen ,Ian gillen, and Tony Martin handling the vocals . The headless cross tour was very memorable for me as I got to meet the band after the show in Toronto . They ended up going to this after hours club called the lizard

It was a real experience to meet the riff god Tony iommi and also the late cozy Powell

I agree that this album was very underrated at the time and Tony Martin IMO is a great singer . He was thrust into a very difficult jo

  • Tony Martin is my favourite post-Ozzy, BS-singer.... Cozy Powell is killing! Damn, his drumming is addictive....

  • i saw black sabbath in the early 70's in san francisco.. I have been a huge fan for a long time...headless cross is their best album in my opinion....Tony Martin is my favorite singer...he has been since i heard this album....nightwing is maybe my favorite all time song

  • era el mejor

  • toni era el mejor

  • toni era elmejo

  • I love this album and I love this line up, Tony Martin is way better than ozzy waaaaay better, is just the people say ozzy is classic is classic in sabbath, but is just a picture in the mind of the people.

  • Tony Martin`s ok but Sabbath`s truely Sabbath w/ OZZY

  • Comment removed

  • This album is a very gem....

  • after the dio era, sabbath just got gay! sound no diffrent then ne other, 80s band at the time. ozzy/dio sabbath.......classic!

  • no one and i mean NO ONE can ever replace ozzy for the voice of sabbath, i like this song as much as the next guy. but the singer aint no ozzy. seems to me sabbath went bu bies while ozzy went on selling

  • yeah your right

  • To high pitched.

  • love the vocal....who is he? I can't remember his name! Dumb me!

  • @miner830e is tony martin

    amazing song of black sabbath

    iommi=sabbath

  • @miner830e Tony Martin

  • otro discasoooooooo!!! ya solo con elbatero estara junto a DIO zapando un poco !!!

  • @TheToto1969 Tony Martin!

  • im not a metal/rock head myself but this song is awesome thanks to Shazam i found it when it was featured in the 60 minutes show... does anyone know if DIO is in this video? if so which one is he?

  • May have to call him ...Rip In Dio ..But we don't Sabbath/Heaven n Hell Gone For Ever..Martin Could Come Back

  • he reminds me of RJD. they should continue Heaven and Hell with him.

  • Tony martin is not of this world...fucking amazing!!!

  • I was so skeptical of anyone being able to replace Ozzy. Then I saw "Mob Rules" tour and was totally taken aback by how awesome RJD was.

Loved this album as well- and TM. Dio's return album was awesome as well.

I still think Geoff Tate of Queensryche is tops...

  • I love this song and the album. I listen to it at least once a week on the drive home in the car. There's no escapin the power of satan! Such a bold line, I love it.

  • Grew up with this music... And i still LOVE IT.......... I´m going to play this music for my daughter every day of her life...

  • All post-ozzy singers make the band sound like typical 80's cheez-metal.

  • @AtomicMonster454 post-ozzy? wtf?

  • @AtomicMonster454

    not RJD.

  • Epic Video

  • One of My top 3 favorite Tony Martin era Sabbath songs , which also includes The Shining, and I Witness. Martin has an awesome voice, and was a perfect fit for this band, obviously very Dio influenced. This song could have been on Heaven & hell or Mob rules.

  • van vanvanvaaaaaan

  • wow just wow

  • adoro esta cancion ( viva black sabbath )

  • fucking great, its like being twelve again lol everytime i hear this song it takes me all the way back when rock was awesome. sabbath rule!

  • All hail Tony Martin.

  • TO ME THIS IS FANTASTIC

  • LOL! I'm going to be 40 and grew up on sabbath and... this is my favorite album of all time. Tony Martin (IMO) was the most underrated singer ever. I met him (and the rest of the band) in Universal City on my 24th birthday. Ian Gillan was even there! No one did a better job that Tony Martin when it came to filling the shoes of 4 other voices in sabbath. Headless Cross is my favorite album. Listen to Nightwing, Call of the Wild and Black Moon. Tony Martin is my favorite singer of all time

  • @CreditSecretsBible i probably shouldnt even say this to you, but this is my least favorite album by sabbath, but ive been a die hard fan since my dad turned me on to them when i was a kid, i love them and it really makes me feel good that theyre still around!

  • @CreditSecretsBible he actually wasn't that good of a singer...listen to him live. On cd he sounds magnificent though. Headless Cross and TYR are metal masterworks.

  • @CreditSecretsBible I think tony martin and blaze bayley are both underrated, both are remembered as replacement singers.. pity.

FYI blaze was with iron maiden.

  • tony martin suffer the same sad situacion that years after blaze bayley and ripper owens suffer... great singers who were bad choices for those where they were called to fit some legend shoes... and in my opinion martin recorded 3 of the greatest sabbath all time albums but nobody gives the credit he deserves... sad but true

  • @dntmetal

he did make grea songs.. Why is always about ozzy? Heaven & Hell - The devil you know was a great album, but you can't say the same about ozzy's 3 latest albums, they're crap.

Iron maiden's Virtual XI is my favourite album, and ironicly it's the least popular.

  • @gombie

totally agree with you about virtual XI, fortunatelly i always appreciate al those changes in legendary bands i'm not crying for the past i enjoy changes!!!

  • This is definitely a better version. You get to hear Tonni Iommi's whole guitar solo.

  • @dntmetal blaze was never a great singer.

  • my friend you are damn right i'm totally agree with you this is my all time sabbath fave album, tony martin work with sabbath is simply amazing but unfortunately underrated by all the purist devoted ozzy and dio fans... i hope someday iommi paid tribute to tony martin bringin back that amazing version of black sabbath

  • @CreditSecretsBible

lucky you... i agree about tony

  • @CreditSecretsBible that is so true!i agree with you 100%!

  • @CreditSecretsBible Kill in the Spirit World

  • @CreditSecretsBible Yeah!Very Fine Record!Ten out of Ten Points! But don't forget Cozy Powell on Drums!Do you remember "The Drums are Back" of Cozy Powell?!Okay, very uncool Cover-Artwork..and the Record is.okay crap but we will never forget to remember Guys like Cozy and of cause Ronnie!!Rock on,my Friend!Greetz from Good Old Germany!BLACK SABBATH rocks!

  • @CreditSecretsBible

I'm 46 and did Mob Rules live- I'm way partial to Dio. Ozzy/ Dio/ Sab 4-5 times each after that.

Tony kept my love of Sabbath alive while Tony played. Geezer was the best bass player I've seen.

  • @CreditSecretsBible yeah, this is my favorite album too... so melodic, so powerful.

  • @CreditSecretsBible im 18 and im glad to have had young uncles who spent a lot of time with my family and always blasted gd stuff like this im so blessed :D

  • Rock on iOMMi! Sabbath is dead without him!

  • i have tha cd.

  • This has been my favourite song for nearly 2 years now (I'm only 14)

  • 80s Sabbath is amazing. HC rules.

THAT CROSS GOT FUCKIN NUKED (thinking of toxic holocaust when i saw that)

  • This was a great comeback for Sabbath I remember it well, and it's still a favorite. It was one of the coolest videos and heaviest riffs ever. Tony Martin joining Sabbath was awesome. Too bad their super egos of the band ultimately got in the way of anything lasting very long. Same old Sabbath a lot behind the scenes issues.

  • The most satanic Black Sabbath album. I still remember man, I was 7 years old when I turned on MTV and I saw this video! i remember thinking: "is this singer a satanist?" what a fool I was :)

  • Satanic? as far as I know Tony Iommi is anti-satanist

  • my favourite Black Sabbath song and my favourite drummer ever!!!! COZY POWELL WILL BE FOREVER NUMER ONE!!!!! THERE'S NO ONE LIKE YOU, COZY!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I liked Tyr-----very keyboardie (in places)--kind of worked, though.......

  • Love this album but I think Tyr is better:) They look great :)

    BLACK SABBATH !!!

  • how many more newbies do i have to encounter on this comment page. anyone that thinks this is dio knows nothing about metal.tony martin sings in black sabbath's most underrated era. wicked album along with tyr and eternal idol.

  • R.I.P Cozy Powell

  • This is their best song, when you're in the mood for it.

  • Metallica can not accomplish something like this. this band went up in 80s and i prefer this vocals than Ozzy

  • I completely agree. I also think Sabbath treated both Dio and Martin like shit as both gave all they got for Sabbath and both got layed off like nothing. Ozzy certainly should be thankful for that. I've heard Dio on interviews telling us "If you're in a band and you're good and behave, then you should stay".

  • one of the classics in metal!!!

    metal 4 live!!!

  • ever, it´s my special love

  • the best drums i have ever heard and the best introduction amongs the heavy metal songs this is heavy metal all about and i think he is james ronnie Dio

  • its not james ronnie dio, its Ronnie James Dio and he was not part of Black Sabbath in that album , the singer you hear is Tony Martin.

  • ACCEPT1979 evolution passed you by!Stay in 1979 were you fuckin"belong!

  • Amazing voice!!

One of the best vocalist ever!!

  • most probably on MTV

  • Wow, a dumbass in our midst! Since when was Black Sabbath all about Ozzy? They released way more albums without Ozzy with far more superior vocalists such as Dio, Gillan, and Martin. I'd like to see Ozzy even attempt to sing this song! Sabbath is and always has been Tony Iommi's band not Ozzy's!

  • AMEN BROTHER!!!

  • I agree.

  • This was the Dio years, after Ozzy left.

  • This is Tony Martin, not Dio. Dio had already left by this point.

  • Hah that isn't Dio. Tony Martin doesn't bare even the slightest resemblance to Dio.

  • And why is that? Different singers are different types of singers. You say Dio was better than Martin for Sabbath, or what?

  • NO, your completely overthinking what I said.

That guy just mistook Tony Martin for Dio and I pointed out that they look nothing alike.

  • Way to be a moron.

  • Comment removed

  • your an idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • I like this in general but it is just a wee bit too 80's for me, but then again it was the 80's wasn't it?

  • kurwa ale gość ma vocal !

  • i would like hear dio singing this

  • One of the best songs of my life, I adore this song.

  • yeahh mee tooo

  • Damn, I love this song. Ah, the whole album kicks ass. But I love this song the most. Tony Martin has got to be the best Sabbath vocalist since Dio, and I love Dio. Ozzy wasn't too bad either. I'm so glad my buddy talked me into buying the Martin-Sabbath albums.

  • This is greatt!

Wayyyyyyy better then Ozzy, ozzy is good, but a bit...Squeeky.

  • dio kicks ass ozzy kicks ass and tony martin kicks ass. if youre not one of those nickel and dime mainstream thinkers you will realize these guys are all good for different reasons. i have all sabbath albums and cant pick my favorite because i like different albums from all eras

  • I cannot wait to see them live in California in July 2009! My Space Headless Cross Tour 2009 for information.

  • Who's the goober on bass? lol.

I read somewhere that he was just a stagehand or someone they literally got off the street to fill in because the bass player from the album wasn't present! lol

  • Neil Murray

  • In fact, the bassist is Laurence Cottle, who actually played in the album and is a very known jazz and session musician.

  • Oh, and this story that you told is from "The Shining" music video.

  • This is great

Ozzy on the other hand sucks big time

  • one of my best sabbath album

  • tommy martin mil vezes mejor que ozzy y dio
