man you think its bad in th good ol usa ,, try truckin in the uk ,, vosa... equals cunts who hate heavy goods, and £1.38 a litre of diesel , plus east euro s comin over here stealin jobs for half the price of a proffesional brit truckers, then wiping out innocent people moms ,dads and children, then disappearing back over the border back to europe,, man the worlds gone fuckin apeshit...................
I love to hear strong opinions coming from senior people. It makes me feel better and guilt- free as a senior person when I speak my piece. I don't have to settle for being made to feel like some young punk teenager just wanting his own way and throwing a tantrum if he doesn't get it. I have looked up to the senior population all my life, learned many important values and followed their example. After all they have experienced life's trials and they know best in dealing with them.
i also believe you cant teach patience but you can learn wisdom through experence ive seen older guys on the road with experience who act like kids as well as older guys out there with experience willing to teach but not taking their experience to the headlike they are kings to the rookies.stop practicing bad habits
the guy who uploaded this once to let us know he finds peace in the marijuana look at the upload time.i agree the older guy can give a lot of knowledge but we also have some guys out there who think just because they are older they can bully the yungins on the road instead of teaching patience.in all honesty the industry is like this because of old and young guys out there
been driving for over 20 yrs as both o/o and co. we let this shit happen !!! we have the wheel in our hands. its our fault. they dothis to us because they know we will do nothing but talk. all we would have to do is shut down tanker fuel trucks for 2-weeks and it would bring this country to its knees !!! but that nots going to happen..... we just keep talking bout 'its not they way its used to be' we want to blame some one why this happen... look in the mirrow...
(CONTINUED)EXEMPT. ITS A SERVICE INDUSTRY THATS FADING AWAY ALONG WITH THE FATORY WORK. LOOK AT THIS I WORKED IN IRAQ AS A TRUCKER. WE DIDNT KNOW TILL AFTER WE WERE LAID OFF THAT WE WERE TRAINING NON AMERICANS TO FILL OUR JOBS. AND ITS THE SAME THING HERE IN THE U.S. AND ON THE LEVEL OF CONTROL. THERE ARE SO MANY AGENCYS THAT POLICE US. BUT THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT. IF OOS CHANGE DRIVERS THAT DONT MAKE $ NOW WILL STARVE. WAKE UP! THE CONTROL GRID IS BEING SET UP IN YOUR FACE ON ALL LEVELS!!!!

THE TRUCK STOP HAS HIGHER PRICES. BECAUSE THEY KNOW YOU CANT PULL IN TO EVERY SHOPPING PLAZA. PILOTS ONLY WANT YOU TO FUEL BUY WHAT EVER AND GET THE HELL ON. SMALLER GOOD COMPANIES GET IN TROUBLE BY THE B/S LAWS AND GET PUT OUT OF BIZ, OR BOUGHT OUT BY BIGGER CORPS. THEN THE DRIVERS LOOSE THERE JOBS. IN THE FUTURE THERE WILL BE ONLY 10 TRUCKING COMPANIES. JUST LOOK AT THE BIG 10 NOW AND HOW THEY HAVE CONERED THE MARKET. AND HAVE BIG LOBBIEST IN D.C. TO GET LAWS PASSED ON EVERYONE BUT THEY ARE
CSA 2010 was the nail in the coffin in trucking. And as of 1/1/12 other laws have kicked in. It is now completely impossible for a driver to keep a clean MVR. With the DOT, EPA, and other agencies sucking $ from the driver and the company. It is crazy now they have rules in place that when the driver gets lit up for what ever. The company gets an even bigger fine, that causes the company to fire you because the aren't gonna loose a dime behind you period! OTR trucking is dead. R.I.P. trucking
DanW900 you did right by getting your cdl but u have to take the shit of a low paying company for a year or two then you can earn the big bucks at one of these high paying LTL companies or a Haz-Mat company trucking has changed if your not in a specialty seat in the job your gonna get crappy pay for any trucker that wants $1200-1500 per week after taxes call
Robbi D. Wood Inc.
205-744-8440
this is one of the last true old style companies left out here its a small out fit
Trucking has got to be one of the worst industries in the world. Besides the low pay and crappy benefits, you have to deal with a bunch of assholes. The general public has no respect towards this industry either. I'm 22 and I got my CDL 2 years ago. I regret getting it. I should've gone to college like most kids my age. At least after college, I would have a better high paying job where I don't have to work crazy and long hours while being paid shit.
The EPA is also tearing at the trucking industry putting all the emissions control on all the trucks. It makes the trucks more expensive off the line, less reliable and they spend more time in the shop for repairs.
Let us ALL bow to the man at 2:34! Ive never met the man, but still have the fortune of meeting a REAL truck driver like him occasionally. But sadly, not too often anymore. Just talking to an Ol Pro even for a few minutes, makes my day! To think of what so- called drivers whine about today ("My A/C dont work" or "I cant get no heat in the bunk" or "That truck rides too rough"). These "old timers" earned and deserve our unlimited resect !
@lugger2010 Everytime i think that my truck rides rough i think back to the old trucks on the farm and from a few years ago when i couldnt get hired for lack of experience and I drove truck for a carnival company that was not only fun but the roughest driving truck i ever drove hhahaahha and I complain about the '01 Columbia I bought as my first truck bless that things soul lol no A/C no heater, no radio, and no fuel gauge! And i live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada!
@nploojvwj Bull. And sadly, you don't know what you're talking about. The DOT, with direction from politicians want to make an American driver obsolete. Why? They cost too much and thus trucking co's loose more profits. Profits are what drives our economy. Buy low, sell high. Not buy stagnate & sell stagnate. Look, PLEASE, look at the NAFTA Superhighway as my source. They want US truckers to follow "3k rules & regs" but a driver from S.A/ Mexico DOES NOT HAVE TO COMPLY WITH 1.
you made a very good decision. i'm 22 and i just got into it. i regret it. i should have known trucking was one of the worst industries in the world.. i should have gone to college like most other kids my age. at least i would end up with a better high paying job.
Its not truckers, its corporations... They killed our industry and we allowed it. Well you old timers who bitch about the new generation allowed it via apathy, you let them de-regulate it. It used to be you had to prove yourself to a board of other trucking company owners to get authority to operate. Well you did away with that bored, Don't raise more devils than you can lay down.
I don't know about y'all but I like being able to contest a ticket I unfairly received. And no, I don't spend all my time in a truck & I ride a motorcycle. A guy came up to me refueling my under 26,001 truck at a Tstop & told me if you turn @ in the median on a MC, you can go to jail if you have a CDL. Non CDL 4wheelers & riders can do it? So why can't I on a MC?
Oh, & traffic court is STATE & FED superceeds it. How is 384.226 legal again?
The State must not mask, defer imposition of judgment, or allow an individual to enter into a diversion program that would prevent a CDL driver's conviction for any violation, in any type of motor vehicle, of a State or local traffic control law (except a parking violation) from appearing on the CDLIS driver record, whether the driver was convicted for an offense committed in the State where the driver is licensed or another State.
i'd pull over and help other guys when they are pulled over on the side of the road, but 9 times out of 10 it's to piss or change drivers. guys...pull off the exit and do that stuff please. and for you idiots throwing piss jugs out the windows, i hope you die of a urinary infection. :)
I wonder how does Indian (esp Punjabi) truckers are on the road ? Def i can imagine you must have lack or communication problem with each other.. but how do they corporate and get along with American truckers?
Numbers dont lie!! Owner operator buys his tractor&trailer cash 60k drives for one year , after expenses He nets 60k , 100% return on investment.. Good return? Not so fast!! A driver comes in ...invest $0 zero dollars ..works one year ...saves 30k .... Return on investment was... Are you ready? 3 000 000% ..yeah 3 million percent!! Do the math!!
He's right it's not the same Ive done many truckage videos and I never see drivers pull over like they used to and I travel quit a bit. I may not drive behinds the wheel of an big rig but after you pay attention you notice it slot when you watch something like this. Thanks.
for a year. If you go through any other place its going to cost you and you might not be guranteed a job. Get atleast 6 months under your belt or stay the full year. If you stay 6 months you only have to pay half of it back usually then you can come home and get you a route where your home every night. Best of luck to you!
I've heard a lot people who used to drive say they got out of the industry because it was no longer what it used to be. The older gentleman at the end is right there is no fuel shortage. Even now there are barges with barrels and barrels of fuel sitting out in the ocean with no place to put them.
It's the same here in the UK. I started trucking in the 60s, and I am now retired after 40 years. With the state of the industry here I would not like to go back to it. Abuse from car drivers because some dick head decided that all trucks should be limited to around the same speed. On our motorways trucks bunch together unable to get away from each other. Yes; I miss it but just have happy memories now...
As far as people not helping eachother, we can thank our overly litigious society and all the ambulance chasing lawyers out there for making everything a liability. You can't even help someone now without risking being sued, heck you can't even invite someone into your home without risk of them suing you if they trip stepping through the door. Great "justice" system.Of course I'm sure there are a lot of jerks, just saying I'm sure there are those who want to help too but don't want to be sued.
We like this video. It tells the truth about this industry. We are getting too many young new drivers that think they know it all. They don't take the time to ask questions from the older drivers and learn from these drivers experiences. It's hard to debate when the truth is told.
What questions do the young guys want to know? the only thing a young kid should know is to work for a fucking paycheck fuck bullshitting bullshitting is for sitting at parks with other truckers drinking coffee and having conversation xD
@Sauron767 Thank you for proving our point. You are exactly what we were talking about. Noone of the older truckers would ahve made a comment like you did. First off older truckers would have had respect. You didn't. You may have the constitutional right to freedom of speech but even that has limitations and it only partains to government. When dealing with the rest of us you HAVE TO RESPECT OUR RIGHTS. Second if we have to explain what we meant you missed it the first time you won't get it.
Man I love this I'm the proof right? to your stupid theory? the customer..the patriot man I'll be red your friends can be white(which they are) and you can be blue and we'll wave our little flags with drool coming out of our mouths LMFAO look man what I'm saying is old dogs that need to be put down like you need to get the fuck out YOU DON'T PAY YOUNGER FOLK TO DRIVE AND TRAIN MORON THE COMPANY PAYS THEM YOU GET PAID TO DRIVE SHUT THE FUCK UP AND DRIVE
what rights???? WHAT RESPECT?????? WHAT THE FUCK????? the new people don't need to carry your soul of skills with them they need to learn on their own like you did. Second mr know it all this isn't your day n age where people get slapped around for not breathing correctly people(everyone) is different when it comes to learning on the job and I'm pretty sure HR/Managers KNOW what there hiring called hiring process with questions about the individual
for example Mr. Customer Safety Orgy can you work under stressful conditions? no? we don't need you! we'll hire mr sauron instead because he wants his paycheck not bullshit time, conversation and coffee like customer safety team red, white and blue over here LMAO btw it's rude to capitalize letters you should be slapped like an old dog for digitally yelling at me do you not know what respect is? according to your reply apparently not learn professionalism prick
@Sauron767 First of all Mr company boy it's not mr safety man. We at the safety team are 97% owner operators.Second of all LOL as a guest on this owners channel you certainly do not know how to conduct yourself. No respect for the owner at all with your language. Again you PROVE our point. You are the new breed of driver we have out here. The van harp all over again. People like you are a minority. It won't be long before you make the big one and do yourself in.
@Sauron767 " it's rude to capitalize letters you should be slapped like an old dog for digitally yelling at me do you not know what respect is? according to your reply apparently not learn professionalism prick". And we suppose your behaviour and language as a guest on this cjannel is not??????
......freedom of speech; a doctrine to represent a humans proof that his days of slavery are over and the inner spirit of his inner self should be honored..........2011-future....Freedom of speech=keep your fucking mouth shut NO ONE wants to hear the pointless shit you have to say, keep your fucking opinions about someone else to yourself you'll lose your job quick when EEO comes stepping up to your front door and investigates why antagonizing a younger kid is cool to you
Some young kids know it all and some don't those who don't should be respected truthfully and not parented around by fucking old kids around the block that need REAL enforcement if i was your manager I'd wall to wall counsel you
Unfortunately I didn't get to drive when it was fun in the old days. but my ex did and he taught me a lot. taught me how to drive with me sitting on his lap. As a kid, I had always loved trucks. never had drivers in my family but there was just something about a truck that fascinated me. I only got to drive long haul for almost 4 yrs. after our first child was born, the 3 of us were on the road 3 days after. she got her first teeth and learned how to walk between Flagstaff and L.A. I do miss it.
does anyone know any OTR companies that follow the I80/90 corridor? i currently reside in iowa, but am considering moving to NY. town just so happens to be on the NY thru way. i was jw so that way i wouldnt have to switch companies n that crap.
man i had 20 different jobs b4 trucking and hated them all but trucking theres something about it that just becomes a part of you ill never do anything else as long as my health holds up ...and it isnt what it was you know drivers helping drivers on the road all we have is one another to look out for .i was setting in a drop lot in ohio at p&g when 2 drivers started arguing over a parking space and b4 it was over one stabbed the other ....come on know
no trucking aint what it used to be my dad drove for 15 years and my grand dad drove for 40 years and its not like when they were driveing and it takes a special person to drive. and some one that wants to drive just remember you wont get rich. 4-25-11 @11:30pm
I agree with both gentlemens, Trucking is a Special breed. If the people would see and understand the things they buy at store is haul there by truckers, And if they would share the roads it be a safe trip..As for DOT and the senate in Washington D.C. well thats a shame, rules & diesel prices....other is the company dispatcher have to know the hour of services a driver can run....if they would just trust the driver, everything be alright....God Bless and be Safe....
This is a great look into what has changed for truckers over the years. We hear you. We had you guys and gals in mind when we created a way to make the best of the inevitable CSA regulations, and we'll keep on helping.
i keep a cb in my little little pickup and i always stop for the drivers at my dads company and either go get parts for em or bring them to get some grub or a shower im not old enough to get my cdl but ill stop and see if they need help
Ihave to drive for another 2 months, then thank god I'll be done with it. on the other hand I know guys that love it. Its not the easy job some people think it is. My hats off to those who stick it out.
I was on the road for 5 months. I didnt mind pulling to the right of the road and letting off on the throttle if there were a bunch of cars trying to get by.
It didnt work out me being out there, It was nice to know while I was out there that there were some that still care. Many of you helped me out and I thankyou for that help.
@sillydillydokieo A trucker can only work with in a certain time frame. If the police catch you working beyond that time frame you can in some places go to jail for exceeding your "hours of service". I have not known of anyone going to jail for exceeding "HOS", usually its just a fine.
Will be nailed also...this will follow into Dry Vans shortly...the first predictions of drivers loss from the industry was around 200,000 drivers out of work and looking for a new career...THEN the M.O.T of Canada and the D.O.T of the States showed records of infractions from both drivers and companies and the total estimate changed too at minimum was 400,000 driver jobs lost. I must go pick up my niece,I will be back to talk a bit more in about an hour or so...Hope your well...
Now, what will happen this year 2011 and into 2012 will see drivers being hauled into inspection stations more and more and they will not only look for the load but the truck themselves. now the driver will get a different set of points with unsecured load being the top mother at 10 points in one hit. What this will mean is the good companies can look at your score and not hire you based on your record...Now i know there already is a scoring but this one..is different...because the company.....
Hey Whitelinefilms, Hope everything is going better for ya..Listen later this year I'll be back on the road again and looking forwards too it.,NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS...CASA2010 is a new law for those basically running flat-beds but will look at tarpping and Load Security. Now this is where it is going too get bad...With all the infractions for drivers who push the limit and try too make deliveries with minimum attention..it is these guys the government is looking for and will nail...
01:05 Your story is sadly a statement that's describing much of what our society has become. To be honest, you can't truly blame any individual, but rather, those who cause violence. Cruel, graphic, destructive, no concern for Life--Violence. People think if they stop to help, that not 'could,' but more than likely WOULD end up 'bad.'
Yeah...Sad state of affairs this country has become. Glad I can carry a firearm. (sad, eh?)
This guy reminds me of myself. An honest man who knows we are all getting screwed. Good Job, Republicans. Telling all of us, that we are short on fuel so, you charge us upwards of $3.30 per gallon of Diesel Fuel, when you know damned well it is only worth about .25 cents a gallon. Crooks. Time to go back to horses and wagons. But then again, you will screw us on the price of Hay.
my dad has been a trucker for 40 years-nice video. and sorry for the "ad" but this is something I think you would really like to look into since you drive a truck: want to take a HOT SHOWER in the sleeper of your truck ? all in an easy-to-use, compact portable device? for under $400? my dad invented this -check it out-here's what you need! truckshower com
so right...ive heard a lot about it and so many things are changing from the new rules to many other things. I just cant imagine people that have been in the field for years and years and have to get use to everything changing.
That old man has seen it . He knows what he's talking about and its a bit sad to see a man in his seventies still having to work that hard for his whole life. America is going downhill inch by inch . By the time most americans figure it out, it will be to late for them.
You guys be sure to do your part to get the word out about Joseph Volpe, the guy that's been taping trucks and posting them on youtube. He's charged with attempt murder for shooting at a driver. SPREAD THE WORD. I'm doing my part.
the problem out there is all these idiots driving cars are now in trucks and they are solely part of the problem. its all about them. i been here doing this for 26 years, over 4 million miles accident free in a truck and to say, there are alot of skullmummy, deisel deamon, drivers out there! it sucks, but what can you do? man up drivers! quit being pussies and hiding behind your cb! telling the world you wear no panties, in my world you guys are actually a panty waste!!!
I really enjoyed watching this video. You are so right.ALOT of changes!I used to run a base between 1973-91 then I hunk it up & took down the antenna. The radio faded out. Then 2 years ago my grandfather gave me his base & I got back into the old hobby, bigger than I ever was years earlier! The 1st few months I couldn`t believe the foul language.Sad,very sad. Then I was talking to my 84 year old neighbor every morning for months & after 5 months he shut his down.Very sad the truckers are causing this.
@ rhider2009, First of all, I'm not an idiot. You are in denial about the truth, but why is it losers always seems to call their superiors losers? Just admit you've got a mental problem.
The reason why no one stops anymore is because theres 10x more trucks on the road! Back In the 70's you'd see 1 truck broke down on the road a week, now you see 2 a day! Enough said
also if your fueling there i hope its companys dollar, just on the other side of the 15 exit valley blvd, head east 2 miles and fontana TS/little sisters truck wash is consistantly 20-30 cents a gallon less, and no lines. Ontario TA east AND west have the most expensive fuel ive ever seen, you'd think it was laced with gold or came with a free handjob instead of some free nasty TA coffee.
lol that stop is right donw the street from my house, thats the TA west, there is a TA east too, the only reason you would be at the west is to pick up a whore, the east is for the truckers that want clean showers and peacefull nights. There are plenty of good drivers out there, only been driving 2 years and ive stopped and layed under another drivers trailer in the mud to break his tadems free while he slides so he can make weight countless times. Plenty have also helped me. They arent all bad.
I used to be a trucker. One time at about 3 in the morning, I was driving across the desert in AZ after being awake for 5 days on racehorse amphetemines. I got really tweaked out and decided to pull over and walk into the desert. After walking a few miles, I came upon the devil himself. He took the form of a short, stocky Mexican guy. He was wearing blue jean shorts and a wifebeater. He spoke to me in Spanish, which i didn't understand. I decided to go back to college to be a spanish teacher
Your fuel shortage was caused by your american president Bush and his friends in the middle East. Wake up old man, you americans are just a bunch of blind rats running on a wheel. You people have no clue of whats going on in the world. Every other country knows how ignorant the americans are, and how the government is taking advantage of them. The government is keeping the americans stupid with their media, schools, and propaganda. WAKE UP!
@Tophairybutt I can not deny that your point for the most part is correct. However there are many who are awake here don't believe your media sources and group a entire nation of over 300 million people into one category. He was however talking about the economy and fuel long before the bush/blair situation!
@Tophairybutt I read your profile and you seem very insecure. You seem to have a problem with women and are taking it out on Americans even though you are from New Zealand. Grow up, little boy.
@Tophairybutt You're an idiot. The world knows the truth about "New Zealand" men.
Nice try though. You know whats said about hairy men...LMAO. I wouldn't be so proud of that trait sis. LOL. You are hilarious. There's a reason real men steer clear of that part of the world. LOL you really are clueless aren't you.....!
@Tophairybutt unless you wanna go stand on a soap box and scream and holler for change and revolution stfu. we know its fucked up and run by fucked up people that accomplishes a lot of bass ackwards agenda but your not the only one who knows dummy. as a trucker would tell you now..shut up stupid.
Your an idiot, he said after deregulation is when the fuel went crazy.Bush had nothing to do with that Reagan was president then in the 80's.I think you should take a history lesson before you get on here again WAKE UP!
@Tophairybutt PISS-WINE-MOAN! We still have it better than you on our worst day. If anything you're far more ignorant for believeing everything the media says. Governments everywhere take advantage of their people, sad fact of life. And believeing the media, you would be amazed at the shear number of Americans who distrust the media.
@Tophairybutt yep all americans are bad. We're all assholes! The government makes a mistake and now you other countries hate even the people that cannot control what our government does! Yep! Pretty arrogant, is it not?
@Tophairybutt 1st ill state im america ... 2nd ... god man you should drive through US CA LA ... you want to see ignorance . that and NY . i hate how fucking retarded americans are.. born with a fucking silver spoon in hand of course . america isnt only whites . the population % is 22 % mexican what like 18 % arab 20 % black 15 % indian 15 % asian 10 % white i dont care what any sutistics or anyone says thats the percentage ... whites are going down its truth, say what you want im not racist
@Tophairybutt all the while we're getting fucked up the ass by the retarded government ... the whole mantality in LA is CRAM IT THE FUCK IN IT WILL FIT! and IF YOU GO FOR MY PLACE IN LINE ILL RUN YOU DOWN ! (said to an old crippled woman ) and theres ignorance all over the world its not just americans .. but i agree americans are worse but i wish people would think twice before saying " americans are ignorant " because not all are...
@Tophairybutt just so u know buddy, not all americans are ignorant as idiots that think they know everything about us like u.most americans know the truth you speak of but are too busy with working as hard as we do and keeping the kids and wife happy while taking the freedoms of our country for granted.they think that our foundation cant change while the govt is taking advantage of that.so are we dumb,no, just comfortable.since obama has pushed behyond the limit though, our mindsets are changing
@Tophairybutt ok. if what your saying is true, then its the government thats stupid. not the people. see, we are told we are "free". and thats true. but the government (mainly bush) is corrupt in a way. i think 911 was a set up, so that "America" has a reason to go fight in iraq. did you know that the name al qaeda is an american word? and another thing. weed is illigal here because the seeds oil is ritch and burns clean. our government lies to us. were not stupid. we cant stop them is all....
@Tophairybutt we know this , and you know nothing about the changes we're making over hear for liberty. dumb comment jerk. freedom is making a come back.
@thejedi543 It is still a good way to make a check. You don't have to run OTR. There are plenty of local jobs peddling freight so you can be home every night.
@thejedi543 Its not easy. My brother is a OTR driver for Prime, yes you will drive a LOT but the shippers and recievers are typically a pain in the ass, as are DOT regulations and shit. But if you really feel you have a passion for it then give it a shot, I plan to get into it in the next couple years myself.
@thejedi543 i wouldnt i were you......i got rid of my CDL becuase nowa days its more hassle than its worth with all the laws that are always changing you cant possibly know them all at any one time, and the one you dont kow is the one thatll cost you your job for the next three years......its happened to me four times now and i just got tired of the b.s.
@thejedi543 If you want to work for pennies on the dollar, give trucking a try. If you want to try and make a living and support your family, send you kids to school and put food on the table, then stay home and work for a company close to your house. Trucking has been flooded with people who were doing something else in life and then lost their jobs. They turned to trucking and are now, out there driving down the road for .30 a mile. YOU cannot make a living with the current wages.
@thejedi543 Depends on your life situation. Kids, wife etc... can you be gone 1-2 months at a time? It can get lonely out there its only you and the truck unless your driving team. You have a C.B radio and a cell phone thats about all the communication you get unless at the truck stop. I drive a semi part time, but im home every night I have friends who are truckers thats over the road. My best advice is to go somewhere like Prime, PAM, Schneider where they pay for your cdl as long as your there
@thejedi543 No. Get an F endorsement & Hothot (whoops, let the cat out of the bag for d-bag politicians to correct) a truck & trailer that GROSSES, UNDER 26,001lbs. Buy 36k tags or higher, & think of outside-the-box ways to work it. Remember you can haul OVER 26,000lbs it's GCVWR that requires a CDL.
Oh & sucks 4 you if you live in a non-F endors. state. Having a CDL does NOT in 1 way benefit you. It limits you more. See my recent post if you ever wanna drive the fam on vacation anymore.
@F0ckUtoob wat the f are u on about speak english man 4 fucks sake u yanks r way over th top,, man i got respected for truckers every where no matter what creed, but please if you got a beef just tell us easy,, keep on truckin ya,ll
@thejedi543 well its a hell of alot more than driving crusing around there is a lot of work put into it unless u want to be a "day runner" and be home every night
My brother was telling me the same story last night. Same words. He's been on the road just over 35 years. Now I'm hearing it again by a stranger. Perhaps we can start helpintg each other by starting with one trucker at a time. Perhaps.
I love what the last guy had to say about the "fuel shortage" he is absolutly right. the whole thing is made up bullshit to scare the people into submission. Paving the way for a one world socialist government. As far as the people. I have only been driving a couple years, but I am have tried to do it right. Don't count us all out please, some of us newer drivers still care.
I met a trucker who turned out to be a real bad person . 4 yes of lies, and deception. Plus took every dime I had, and left his tractor insurance on my credit card for 2 months after he was gone even. Even asked me if he could stay with me till "I" found someone else. Very sad and shameful. I feel for anyone who hooks up with him. I know there are plenty of good truckers out there who aren't crooks , cheats and liars. Godspeed.
My fathers been driving 46 years (age 16-62) still does it and wont ever leave it. He's helped my brother,me,mom, friends, relatives get into trucking because he loves it,but he's always told me that its gone down hill.
Sometimes I miss trucking, but then I remember the 20 hour days or driving, refuel and try for 5 or 6 more before a 4 hour nap, the sitting at the dock for 12 hours at T&A in Salinas, and then having to be at the Walt Whitman before I even hit Little Sisters in Barstow for a quick shower and wash.........come to think of it, I really do not miss those days....The big companies and little drivers that work for them can have them.

I'm from Canada and I was truck'n for 26 years before I moved over too the UK. I've been out of it now since 2002 and I needed that break one needs now and again. I found the time was needed because as much as I love driving, I just needed to leave the wheel and see what they other side was like. I'm now moving back too Canada and I'll be back into it. You can take the man from the truck, but just never take the truck from the man. Once in your blood, it never leaves ya. Can't wait.
@canadiantimberwolf1 You speak the truth brother! I at times wanted to take "THE BREAK" but worry I won't like the other side. This is all I have known for the last 13-14 years I have nothing else I like!
@Whitelinefilms..The Break is something that you must really want to do.But my wife needed too be with her father in England and so I just put on the brakes and headed off with her. I started by working in an area I swore I would never do,Work in a warehouse. But that by itself taught me new stuff that I never thought of. You can do what ever you need too survive. Now 8 years later I & my wife a coming home and I just can't wait too get behind the wheel.
@Whitelinefilms...You never leave trucking in your heart. There are days when the warehouse was pretty cool as did fork truck driving and assembly work. But no matter how much a day goes by and no matter how much funny your having,as you walk down the road, you will forever see trucks and your heart and mind just flies back into the smells of diesel and rubber. Do I regret leaving trucking, yeah, sure, always. But I needed too give my wife what she needed.
@Whitelinefilms,Now it is time for me too get back into my passion and my wife knows it. Don't get me wrong, Trucking was something I did since I was 18 and something that I hated, Loved, Lived with and only God knows all the other feelings that it brings. But eventually, before I left, Trucking I felt so much a part of it and it was of me. Now I am 52 and will be 53 by the time I get back into it and like a child with a New Toy and as an Adult with a Passion for Big Trucks, I just can not wait.
@Whitelinefilms..Can not wait too hear that famous song only truckers hear...The Hum and the song...Mile After Mile. Listen Whitelinefims, anytime you want too have a chat, I'm here. When I get behind the wheel, who knows, perhaps we'll catch each other on air. Always remember, there is only 2 things that change in a truckers job, traffic and weather, plus do me favour remember, a 20 minute snooze will get you 100 miles further down the road awake. Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down.
hey im one of those people that are worried that traditional styled trucks like the extraordinary peterbilt 389 and kenworth w900 will go out of production soon please tell me what you think about this
@canadiantimberwolf1 I drove in Canada and the States for 16 years and decided to take the "break". I loved the road but needed to see how the rest of the population lived.I stepped out of the cab april 7 2007, I regretted getting out of the truck the day after I did it. Family keeps me off the road now, its hard driving to the factory watching all the trucks roll by.
@ledfoot73. I miss living the North American life style for one. Living in the UK and knowing that everything over here is small for a 1,000 years of history. It is all they know.I've been back too Canada for my 50th birthday and then a year later for my father funeral. When I walked off that airplane in Toronto, the feeling of space was just over whelming, see the trucks and their size and they are 20 feet bigger than in the UK. There are some big units here but they are special transporters.
@ledfoot73, I've now been out of trucking (driving wise) now for almost 10 years and it was by choice so my wife could be with her parents and at the time i just did not want too go through all that training so i too the time too see if it was something I wanted too do. The first couple of years were actually not a problem, but it was after that time that I really felt the need too be back behind the wheel and trucking.
@ledfoot73,I know exactly what your feeling, when it is in the heart it gets into the soul and once it reaches that stage, you can feel the passion of the truck and all that it brings. I can't wait too get back home next year in 2011 and retrain. Although this time I might even try something I've wanted too do since i can remember...being an instructor and teaching all that I know. Listen ledfoot73, if you want too get back into it,do it before it becomes too late..really.
@ledfoot73 One of the things that kept me sane over here was driving a fork truck and unloading or loading trucks and on occasion, asking the driver if I could sit in his truck for a minute or so. What a buzz, sitting in the air seat looking at the gauges and the mirrors, brought back flashbacks of memories of driving a 1978 GMC 9500 10 speed with armstrong steering too Ottawa or Windsor. Years later driving a 2000 Corn Binder with mould steel or
@ledfoot73 or when I drove 60' structural beams on a 48' trailer tri-axle and the cruise control on at 100 KPH sitting in my captain chair with my stereo cranked. Suddenly hitting a bump sending me in the air hitting my head on the ceiling of the cab and the steel in the air opening all the bear traps loosening the chains and having too rechain in -40 degree temps...LOL. To finishing in 2002 with a Sterling and general cargo too Wal-Mart or Zellers warehouse. Man i just can't wait.
@canadiantimberwolf1 Glad to know I'm not the only one out there that misses it, my wife keeps telling me to go back but I know she likes having me home. Good luck with your re-introduction to North American truck driving. I started at 18 years of age driving a 2 stick mack with the old camelback suspension hauling glue in tankers without baffles...lotsa fun, since then I ran A trains, B trains, highway and even did a few years as a city driver. Enjoy and hopefully I will see you on the road.
man you think its bad in th good ol usa ,, try truckin in the uk ,, vosa... equals cunts who hate heavy goods, and £1.38 a litre of diesel , plus east euro s comin over here stealin jobs for half the price of a proffesional brit truckers, then wiping out innocent people moms ,dads and children, then disappearing back over the border back to europe,, man the worlds gone fuckin apeshit...................

After all they have experienced life's trials and they know best in dealing with them.

been driving for over 20 yrs as both o/o and co. we let this shit happen !!! we have the wheel in our hands. its our fault. they dothis to us because they know we will do nothing but talk. all we would have to do is shut down tanker fuel trucks for 2-weeks and it would bring this country to its knees !!! but that nots going to happen..... we just keep talking bout 'its not they way its used to be' we want to blame some one why this happen... look in the mirrow...

TO GET LAWS PASSED ON EVERYONE BUT THEY ARE
421ssrida 1 month ago

DanW900 1 month ago

DOT wants America to starve, we truckers give the Nation what they need
nploojvwj 4 months ago
@nploojvwj Bull. And sadly, you don't know what you're talking about. The DOT, with direction from politicians want to make an American driver obsolete. Why? They cost too much and thus trucking co's loose more profits. Profits are what drives our economy. Buy low, sell high. Not buy stagnate & sell stagnate. Look, PLEASE, look at the NAFTA Superhighway as my source. They want US truckers to follow "3k rules & regs" but a driver from S.A/ Mexico DOES NOT HAVE TO COMPLY WITH 1.

Guilty as officers see fit? In ANY vehicle?
F0ckUtoob 7 months ago 6
384.226Prohibition on masking convictions.

@Sauron767 Thank you for proving our point. You are exactly what we were talking about. Noone of the older truckers would ahve made a comment like you did. First off older truckers would have had respect. You didn't. You may have the constitutional right to freedom of speech but even that has limitations and it only partains to government. I agree with both gentlemens, Trucking is a Special breed. If the people would see and understand the things they buy at store is haul there by truckers, And if they would share the roads it be a safe trip..As for DOT and the senate in Washington D.C. well thats a shame, rules & diesel prices....other is the company dispatcher have to know the hour of services a driver can run....if they would just trust the driver, everything be alright....God Bless and be Safe....

sillydillydokieo 1 year ago

That old man has seen it . He knows what he's talking about and its a bit sad to see a man in his seventies still having to work that hard for his whole life. America is going downhill inch by inch . By the time most americans figure it out, it will be to late for them.

Then I was talking to my 84 year old neighbor every morning for months & after 5 months he shut his down.Very sad the truckers are causing this.

also if your fueling there i hope its companys dollar, just on the other side of the 15 exit valley blvd, head east 2 miles and fontana TS/little sisters truck wash is consistantly 20-30 cents a gallon less, and no lines. Ontario TA east AND west have the most expensive fuel ive ever seen, you'd think it was laced with gold or came with a free handjob instead of some free nasty TA coffee.
wtfmanicanthaveaname 1 year ago
lol that stop is right donw the street from my house, thats the TA west, there is a TA east too, the only reason you would be at the west is to pick up a whore, the east is for the truckers that want clean showers and peacefull nights.

WAKE UP!

@thejedi543 Trucking is a hard way to make a living anymore. It can be done but it takes a truckload of self dicipline to make it work.
kmc8470 9 months ago
@thejedi543 Depends on your life situation. Kids, wife etc... can you be gone 1-2 months at a time? It can get lonely out there its only you and the truck unless your driving team. You have a C.B radio and a cell phone thats about all the communication you get unless at the truck stop. I drive a semi part time, but im home every night I have friends who are truckers thats over the road. My best advice is to go somewhere like Prime, PAM, Schneider where they pay for your cdl as long as your there
bfry38 8 months ago

Godspeed.

Can't wait.
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago 5
@canadiantimberwolf1 You speak the truth brother! I at times wanted to take "THE BREAK" but worry I won't like the other side. This is all I have known for the last 13-14 years I have nothing else I like!
Whitelinefilms 1 year ago
@Whitelinefilms..The Break is something that you must really want to do.But my wife needed too be with her father in England and so I just put on the brakes and headed off with her. I started by working in an area I swore I would never do,Work in a warehouse. But that by itself taught me new stuff that I never thought of. You can do what ever you need too survive. Now 8 years later I & my wife a coming home and I just can't wait too get behind the wheel.
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago
@Whitelinefilms...You never leave trucking in your heart. There are days when the warehouse was pretty cool as did fork truck driving and assembly work. But no matter how much a day goes by and no matter how much funny your having,as you walk down the road, you will forever see trucks and your heart and mind just flies back into the smells of diesel and rubber. Do I regret leaving trucking, yeah, sure, always. But I needed too give my wife what she needed.
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago
@Whitelinefilms,Now it is time for me too get back into my passion and my wife knows it. Don't get me wrong, Trucking was something I did since I was 18 and something that I hated, Loved, Lived with and only God knows all the other feelings that it brings. But eventually, before I left, Trucking I felt so much a part of it and it was of me. Now I am 52 and will be 53 by the time I get back into it and like a child with a New Toy and as an Adult with a Passion for Big Trucks, I just can not wait.
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago
@Whitelinefilms..Can not wait too hear that famous song only truckers hear...The Hum and the song...Mile After Mile. Listen Whitelinefims, anytime you want too have a chat, I'm here. When I get behind the wheel, who knows, perhaps we'll catch each other on air. Always remember, there is only 2 things that change in a truckers job, traffic and weather, plus do me favour remember, a 20 minute snooze will get you 100 miles further down the road awake. Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down.

@canadiantimberwolf1 I drove in Canada and the States for 16 years and decided to take the "break". I loved the road but needed to see how the rest of the population lived.I stepped out of the cab april 7 2007, I regretted getting out of the truck the day after I did it. Family keeps me off the road now, its hard driving to the factory watching all the trucks roll by.
ledfoot73 1 year ago
There are some big units here but they are special transporters.
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago
@ledfoot73, I've now been out of trucking (driving wise) now for almost 10 years and it was by choice so my wife could be with her parents and at the time i just did not want too go through all that training so i too the time too see if it was something I wanted too do. The first couple of years were actually not a problem, but it was after that time that I really felt the need too be back behind the wheel and trucking.
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago
@ledfoot73,I know exactly what your feeling, when it is in the heart it gets into the soul and once it reaches that stage, you can feel the passion of the truck and all that it brings. I can't wait too get back home next year in 2011 and retrain. Although this time I might even try something I've wanted too do since i can remember...being an instructor and teaching all that I know. Listen ledfoot73, if you want too get back into it,do it before it becomes too late..really.
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago
@ledfoot73 One of the things that kept me sane over here was driving a fork truck and unloading or loading trucks and on occasion, asking the driver if I could sit in his truck for a minute or so. What a buzz, sitting in the air seat looking at the gauges and the mirrors, brought back flashbacks of memories of driving a 1978 GMC 9500 10 speed with armstrong steering too Ottawa or Windsor. Years later driving a 2000 Corn Binder with mould steel or
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago
@ledfoot73 or when I drove 60' structural beams on a 48' trailer tri-axle and the cruise control on at 100 KPH sitting in my captain chair with my stereo cranked. Suddenly hitting a bump sending me in the air hitting my head on the ceiling of the cab and the steel in the air opening all the bear traps loosening the chains and having too rechain in -40 degree temps...LOL. To finishing in 2002 with a Sterling and general cargo too Wal-Mart or Zellers warehouse. Man i just can't wait.
canadiantimberwolf1 1 year ago
@canadiantimberwolf1 Glad to know I'm not the only one out there that misses it, my wife keeps telling me to go back but I know she likes having me home. Good luck with your re-introduction to North American truck driving. I started at 18 years of age driving a 2 stick mack with the old camelback suspension hauling glue in tankers without baffles...lotsa fun, since then I ran A trains, B trains, highway and even did a few years as a city driver. Enjoy and hopefully I will see you on the road.
