@TheBilli96 It has been planned as an overseas release though no one has the D2DVD rights at the moment, and as a channel we have had so many requests so we're looking into it as a possibility but don't go crazy just yet!

Even thought I'm hyped, I think the live action style is the wrong direction.

It needs to be animated.

These characters look ridiculous.

And I think they need to make the cases a tad more realisitc, because the cases in Phoenix Wright are anything but close to a real murder trial.

I mean trials in which a verdict is reached in three days?

Yeah, I'm a fan of Phoenix Wright and played most of them (the original trilogy and Apollo Justice).

I know the court system in that game is nothing like a real court system, which is why I think that the courst system in the movie needs to be an actual court system, not some fictional one in which verdicts are reached in days and there is no jury!

It'll add to setting more I think.

I think all of that is sorta the point. Their choosing to look sillier on purpose. I think it really adds a lot to the over all feel, but that's just me.

Yeah, I guess they are trying to make the movie as goofy as the PW universe is, but I still think that can be expressed just as well (or even better) in animation. Animation is the way to go for an anime video game with colorful, expressive characters I think.

@TheUltimateBeing01 who would buy it? The video games fan would. This isn't a movie that is trying to branch out. And if it did, it would honestly be so contrived and elements from the game itself would be gone and the fanbase may feel betrayed about the movie.

THe PW game is a script that writes itself very well. Especially for J-Cinema. Even more so as an animated series.

Indeed! Actually, it'll be shown tomorrow in my country Holland. I went to quite a struggle to get my hands on two tickets, but I managed to get it. It's subbed English though, not Dutch, but I don't really care, I'll manage just fine with English subtitles.
