  • good luck performing after machine head at download...

  • fuck of chase and status go fucking die you twats

  • Saw them in Plymouth last night, they're so good live

  • sooooooo brill!!! wish I could see them - but think am a bit old at 46yrs!!!! lol

  • @claire30061 you're never too old for good music and great concerts!

  • Seeing them tomorrow can't wait!

  • cant wait till tuesday at plymouth!!!!!!

  • seeing them on tuesday

  • Song?

  • @karltabone1 Smash TV

  • Drum and bass is diversifying at such a massive pace now, I have to accept I'm not going to like a lot of where it's going. This comes under that category, Chase and Status used to rep it proper...

  • who actually prefers this shit compared to an actual set?

  • @Modgraham exactly what i was thinking :S

  • this doesnt do justice to how fuckin intense this song is live.

  • I'm not asking this to offend anyone but can someone tell me what emotion this type of music is supposed to make you feel? It's just that music is supposed to make you feel something and with every song I have ever heard (whether I have liked that song or not) I've been able to identify which emotion(s) somebody might feel when hearing it. That is, every song outside of this genre. Please help, I just don't hear it.

  • @DannyMichaelW its meant to make you want to jump and makes you buzzing but this video's really shit cause you can't hear the bass

  • Andy Gangadeen tearing through it. Seen him The Bays. Mint Drummer.

  • chase and status are amazing here but the crowd is far too tame!

  • All I really care for is if an artist can pull off a sick tune or not, mainstream or not.

  • i agree with most here, their early stuff was ok production wise. This stuff just isnt up my alley, i guess its cool to have some variety in the dnb world, lord knows its needed. But something else haha!

  • @bottle2lip Agree 100% my friend, the fact the Drum and bass "legends" dabble in dubstep and UK grime really grinds my gears. Why do they feel the need to collaborate with mainstream artists?!

    If it 'aint broke.......

  • fucking lol at this, compared to what chase and status actually made when they first came out this is a fucking joke. wastest sellouts in any genre to have ever lived ever, yes more than fucking pendulum.

  • what's the name of the guy with the mic?

  • @marino2408 late reply but the guy with the mic is

    mc RAGE

  • @joelfalloutboy

Check out his band: Inner City Dwellers

  • @joelfalloutboy Thanks i was wondering as well

  • This is so crazy it made my super gaming PC lagg.

  • Heard this song at the warrior's dance festival and it went off! Crazy moshpit and I ended up breaking my wrist...it was worth it!

  • i beg there isnt somebody shouting shit when im trying to skank to the tunes when they come to nottingham

  • @MrWigglezDubstep it's not ska you fucking faggot. and that guy hypes the crowd you stupid cunt

  • @bigbobabc123 No need to swear, i was just saying i would prefer if he didnt, what your problem?

  • @MrWigglezDubstep the only reason you'd prefer if he didn't is cause you sit on your computer watching gigs and don't actually go to them as you are a faggot.

  • @bigbobabc123 clearly your just one of them aggresive people whole like to argue so they seem like they know it all, its about personal preference, you are a sad person for arguing with somebody you do not no, and to even comment in the first place, you are the sad one my friend

  • this is a fucking tune.

  • wtf the crowd are dead ?

  • crowd are shit

  • shit crowd.

  • he should use electric triggers on his drums istead of them, doesnt suit the track.

  • the crowd is wank

  • this sounds soooo much better live

  • Talking of young producers plead have a quick look at stuff I made on my channel. Some is house, sone is dnb and I've got a part dnb part dubstep track going on soon. Please give it a chance and help me improve with comments. I'm very new so be nice please :-) would appreciate comments and views Thankyou very much. I'll keep uploading if you like it. And also long live chase and status :-D

  • I still get chills watching this set a little set. Awesome time

  • -- that kick could just be made to sound like a drum & bass kick, the rest of the drums sound acoustic ...

  • love it!!

  • who was the singer? he always appears fuck knows who he is tho

  • @CallumEyre MC Rage ;)

  • @DjStix007

    nice one man

  • I said what i did because the drum kit looks like a regular kit, not one using electronic triggers, i.e. it's mic'd up like a live kit. if it is triggers, fine. my point is it's not the same as someone like the jungle drummer or macc drumming because their sound comes from the actual drum kit. i'd appreciate not being called an idiot for a legitimate comment but then i guess some people see youtube as an opportunity to be rude to people they don't even know. : /

  • I don't think the drummer used triggers, I think he's there just to double the drum tracks from the drum machine... The Prodigy do it the same, so I think this is how C&S do it too. You can hear the drummer's additional breaks, which aren't part of the song and sound different then the original beat. Probably you can hear them both live, I'm not sure they were mixed right in this video.

  • i always find it weird hearing a studio dnb tune performed "live", don't get me wrong, i love the tune, but the snare has a certain sound because of compression, eq, layering and various other studio techniques, so the drummer is obviously miming, i guess it gives it wider appeal to appear live rather than just a DJ.

  • Triggers.

  • i disagree!!

  • remember it will probably sound a lot better there than on this video (more bass etc).

check out Jungle Drummer Vs DJ Fu, epic stuff

  • your an idiot. the drummer isnt miming. you can use compression and eq and all of that live plus he is probably using triggers which they would have going in to a sample of the snare sound used in the normal track.

next time you accuse someone of faking you should probably no what your talking about first ;)

  • the drums would be triggered to use the original drum sounds used in the record

  • @ChrisSworddrummer

    Wrong. I was there.

  • DarkStep....?

  • i just fucking shit myself, this is FUCKING MENTAL mc is biiiiig

  • Iv got mixed feelings about dnb goin mainstream as iv grwon up listenin to this music and now this shits in my blood. It's like this, if u love dnb as much as me then ul know wot i say when i say i wish everyone in the world is as passionate about it as i am, but that ain't gonna happen unless it goes in the charts cos that the only way its gonna reach a wider audience. BUT im well scared of it being turned into some fucked up pop tart brittany spears bollox!!

  • Now Andy C & Shimon broke the top 40 back in 2001 with Bodyrock on vinyl sales alone, without any major label backing or tv advertisement, this was Ram records first taste of chart success and was purely a result of cause n effect not selling out. I.e the tune was just so original everyone wanted it and as a result it charted. At the end of the day good music is good music regardless of its genre and if u was making it, would'nt u want as many people to hear it as possible? Im sure u would...

  • People trying to tell other people how/what to do in music is shit.

Go listen to someone else if you don't dig it son.

  • Good comment.

  • @DjStix007 as long as there are artists like chase and status that won't happen.

  • @DjStix007 not that.. more the fact of D&B fans (such as myself) don't like mainstream music and this goin into mainstream music where it has a few weeks glorly then is forgotten.. pisses me off really

  • @psychicdumass i hear ya, but trust me m8, this tune will never be forgotten

  • @DjStix007 there will always be a couple of big names that go commercial as like David Guetta, but then there will always be the guys who stay true to the filth :D

  • @DjStix007 i understand where your coming from mate, but if u look at DNB as a whole, including the culture. I personally think where it sits at the moment is where it’s best and where it should stay. You have the odd dnb song, proper dnb song, being in the top 40 but not too many to hurt the scene but enough just to get more listeners and to get it that just a bit more recognised. Young producers will keep this genre where it is.

  • @AnyDayKnow yes m8...long live the underground...respect bruv

  • @DjStix007 Ironic because chase and status actually produced a record for britney spears

  • @hambotify that isn't fact m8, thats just a rumour at present, iv done alot of research into this and can't find any evidence to back it up at all, however they have produced for rhianna on her rated r album, but i wrote all this following the success of more than alot, and thats not what i ment anyway, im speaking strictly about taking dnb and dubstep and diluting the sound just to make it mainstream, that sux!

  • @DjStix007 it already has :( check out her latest crappy song (heard it on radio 1) hold it against me

there is a dubstep chorus, massive cringe....

  • @TJDav14 ugh i think i heard that the other day, gotta admit im not feelin' half of the new LP from these guys n all...Doh well, back to the underground we go ;)

  • @DjStix007 Completely agree!

People need to respect Dnb for what it is rather than changing it, slowly making it more mainstream...

  • @Chrismurf0121 du know wot i mean m8, its like this track right here is living proof that undiluted dnb rocks and gets people dancing, so theres absolutly no need to go n water it down just to make it more accessable to the public. Keep it raw n keep it real

  • @DjStix007 listen to what you like even if its pop and judt dont care

  • @ratatui096 in the underground only real stays real... ;)

  • @DjStix007 have you heard selena gomezs new song? it has a touch of dubstep its fuckin disgraceful

  • @LoadedBunnyPros hahaha :D

  • people who go of bands because they hit mainstream are ignorant idiots

  • A lot of Pendulum's (were) fans are an example

  • @OneTeaExtraOoo bands who go off because they try to gain a larger audience are greedy idiots

  • @joshnjosh69 That's bullshit.

Who doesn't want a bigger audience that likes the same music.

It makes it better, more energy.

  • @HKSarkdog No i'm saying they change they're music and make it more generic to gain a larger audience

  • @OneTeaExtraOoo, No they go off them because mainstream fans are the type of people who you don't want to associate with. It also becomes just purely about money in the mainstream market.

  • @OneTeaExtraOoo its not that people go off bands JUST because they go mainstream, its that people fall in love with these artists for their style on the underground, but when they change their style just to go mainstream its hard to keep that affection as it becomes such an obvious shift from 1 style to another just to appeal to the pop culture. Im sorry dude, but that sucks big time.

  • @DjStix007 fair point, but what about bands that dont change their style and still go mainstream. People still go off them. Case in point Enter Shikari- their second album was heavier and altogether less accessible than their earlier stuff and so many people turned their back on them when they got big.

  • @drdethdefy those sort of people are what i call tourists m8 , fashion victims, people who think they're trend setter's, its all an image thing with people like that. I can bet u right now that all those people were only into Enter Shakari, because they were the "next big thing" but sadly when it comes to shallow hipsters like that, they lose interest once the band actually "makes it" ironic? But thats a different thing altogether and i dont want this discussion to digress too much ;)

  • at the end of the day if you had the chance to sellout and become rich, only a twat wouldnt take it.

  • i think i could handle being a twat if it meant being rich

  • OMG - Respect

  • chase and status will continue to produce tracks of this qaulity regardless of wether you cunts think they are gonna go "mainstream"

  • Bwahaha,

"Please don't make them go mainstream I lost my last new girlfriend when Pendulum cheated on me and went all mainstream."

Some of you need to get a grip!

  • looks awsome! and they were sick at Nass. they are playin a set in swindon this year, you can pick up leaflets an stuff in town.

  • they played a dj set at wakestock and it fuckin well good alot better than this looked

i think they only had a drummer cause radio s1s big weekend is pretty mainstream

and the tickets can go to anyone so probably only mainstream listeners applied for tickets

  • you are a retard mate... artists like chase & status cant spend there whole careers rolling round playing dubs, , , if they wanna make p's then they have to do what the management think is best... artists being well known and well recieved is not mainstream... just means they are good!

  • shut up you stupid cunt thats not even what i was talkin about

what i was sayin is that radio one had a load of mainstream listeners so the people who apply for big weekend tickets are going to be mainstream listeners

so chase n status needed to have a drummer so that their more suited for the audience

  • in a way i agree with tha guy down there thyl go llmainstream if they start doin this drummin business like pendulum. how do they play there dubstep tracks with the drummer? im seein em at nass this weekend. they best play that new heartbeat track without tha drummer. sounds ok tho.

  • "how do they play there dubstep tracks with the drummer?"

Are you serious? Pretty sure he can handle their dubstep business if he can play the dnb tunes.

  • im not sayin literally . im sayin it would sound shit with an actualy drummer. but it didnt sound too bad when i saw em.

  • wass it basssy there?

  • veryyyyy

  • lol joker, if they didn't have live instruments like the drum kit then it would just be them on stage playing a cd of thier music!

  • but dat the whole point of it being live

  • this one's messing up my brains. i just went crazy when they played it in ro

  • Comment removed

  • your an idiot. i think its a bit too your mum if you ask me

  • man i was there this was fucking insane!!
