The only thing I saw that you didn't appear to do was pack the bearing itself. Just rolling grease around the bearing isn't enough. To pack a bearing you need to press grease into the bearing housing until it comes all the way through to the other side
Bearing buddies coupled with the complimenting rear grease seal will save you maintenance and time and perhaps even a break down on the road. Well worth the small investment. Keeping a water tight hub filled with good marine grease is your bearings, races and spindles best friend. Happy fishing.
Thanks for the comments, and great to hear was a help. The hardest part is getting the bearings in and out, and use heaps of good quality marine grease,
Thanks Alan, you're too kind, She's a great little boat, and will get back into some serious fishing, a few more video's on boat maintenance and servicing motors, etc. Going to rewire her as well, new lights, switch panels, and heaps more. Be good as new then. We've got Fishin Trip from Melbourne coming up again for two shows at the end of June, Cheers Greg
Thanks, Heaps of good fishing videos, but doing a few videos on our new project boat, and how to's, and then we'll get it out and get serious about fishing again,
Thanks so much man

You did not pack the bearing with grease, all you did was smear grease on top of it.

Good point, hopefully the grease should work it's way into the bearings,

Should have forced grease into the bearings by packing the bearings. They only smeared grease around the outside of the bearings.
