Although her love life and last name didn't exactly match, Marianne did have five hits between 1964 and 1965, this being the first and biggest. Released as London 9897, it reached #22 over a nine week chart run. Perhaps inspired by the famous "Little Mermaid" statue in Copenhagen, this has to be the least animated stage performance I have ever seen. Fortunately later she did learn to move onstage and not play the wax figure. ;

Marianne's Autobiography is VERY interesting and certainly a worthwile read. It's not necessarily a "kiss and tell" but,what she implies is FANTASTIC (particularly in regard to the TOP Rock and Roll stars from the "bands" that she toured with early on! She goes on to say that "Faithfull" is her real name and that her Dad was Welsh and her Mother a "Jewish Baroness" and that she was raised in a Catholic Convent.

If you read her biography, she was into drugs before she met Jagger. She said he really wasn't that into drugs and her "getting so fucked up" (her quote) is what destroyed their relationship. She said Brian Jones was the most stoned Stone.

An interesting book, for anyone interested in London's music scene in the 60's.

An astoundingly beautiful young lady, with the voice of an angel - wrecked by that piece of filth Mick Jagger. I loved each and every song Marianne made, but her voice wasn't improved by the drugs Jagger fed her. Someone else suggested she is a survivor - indeed she is; she survived living in shop doorways for some time, being fed by passing police officers ... I see this video and could cry for her,
