@CHOPERUS23 well i guess as its the kind of tradition thing, like why black powder are more popular, i mean as its so easy to get a .22 firarms in semi auto there is no point in getting a semi auto .22 precharged air rifle, its better to get the real gun as the prices are almost the same and it can be used for more varied taskes
@CHOPERUS23 yeah i picked up an air rifle around christmas, then LATER read all the laws....and....since im right smack in the middle of a city in the U.S, the closest place to can legally fire it is a 2 hour drive into the sierra mountains, or on private county property where i would need special permission.
@CHOPERUS23 that is a good question... probably because the market has an advantage... everyone knows springers are cheaper, and if you can sell high-powered spring rifles at Wal-Mart and if most of the big cheap companies are American-based, you tend to hear more about them here. that'd be my theory. not a lot of people here in the US are willing to spend a lot of money on quality if the numbers on the box all say the same. that's why the Trail XL is more popular than the Marauder.
What brand pellets have you found to be most accurate with this gun? I bought this gun less than a week ago and have fire about 450 crosman premier hp and have found them to be a little hard to get good placement with them. The manuel says about 100 break in shots, did that, but I get 2 or 3 within the cross hairs and then the 4th isn't even on the target at all or way off. Have you found this to the same for your gun?
ive used many of these 22 and .177 guns and .177 has always been the best for its ability to reach out farther. in most cases the 22 cal had dropped far more than a 22 short by 50 yards
The older break barrels that have big springs in them have a terrible TWANG when you shoot them.
New break barrels like this use some sort of "air spring" and are supposed to have less twang.
I spent $225 on a Gamo with lots of TWANG then spent $300 on a CO2 gun because it doesn't twang. Look up "air rifle hold" for a better description of what I speak of.
Im new to air rifles and i visited the local air rifle store the other day and was thinking about buying this gun and i was wondering, do you have to buy gas canisters or anything alike for this gun? also, whats the best price i can get this for? .177 and .22 by the way.
@daniel25001 at my local shop its 199.99 canadian with a pretty good 3 to 9 variable zoom. and if you're looking for a target shooter then i'd reccomend the .177 but if you want to shoot targets and hunt then the .22 is the way to go. it can drop rabbits easily.
@Psycho12345123 ok thanks, and call me a newbie, but what does this 3 to 9 variable scope mean? im guessing you can zoom from 3x to 9x? and yh i want to hunt, not just shoot targets.
@daniel25001 nope, see when he pulls the barrel down hes actually cocking back a nitro spring piston. when you pull the trigger it shoots air down the barrel and send the pellet down the barrel.
@daniel25001 decided to get the .22 today, and already getting my shots between 3 inches together at 20 yrds or so. just missed a squirrel kill by about an inch or so which i was quite disspointed about. hoping to get a couple of kills tomorrow. =D thanks for the advice dude!

hey, i'm trying to install a muzzle break on my crossman optimus air rifle, it has fiber optics at the end of the barrel though anyone know how to fix/get around this? just got it today for my bday, would loveee to get the muzzle break on it
This idiot has no idea how,to shoot. First off he just dropped the pellet in the breach, and second, his hold wad horrible. He wasnt even making use of the artillery hold which is what this gun was made for
view my lastest video for a crosman trigger fix. better than grt-iii for free

Why is it that in America with their liberal gun laws are spring/nitro/gasram air rifles still advertised as being so popular?
Here in the Uk with our Anal gun laws precharged pneumatics are all the rage?

@dougsines Yup. The gun is very hold sensitive. You have to be 100% consistent or you'll get flyers. I get the same thing with mine.

hopefully the trigger on this gun isn't crosman's horrible 16-stage trigger.

does it needs gas to work or just load and shoot?
yhe31cristy 1 month ago
@yhe31cristy

Which type of air rifle has more recoil, the nitro or the pneumatic air rifle?
moumujai 2 months ago
@moumujai these are airguns so the really don't have much recoil at all

@moumujai
Anything you pump or use CO2 in has less recoil.

I suggest that you hone your skill to be able to place your shot within 1 inch at 20 yards BEFORE you go hunting.
