  • they say a 4 stroke has more torque than a 2 stoke but what about a rc diesel 2 stroke vs a nitro 4 stroke, ? since the 2 stroke is diesel' would it have more power of the same size??

  • Do these have a tendency to kick the props off like the 4 cycle gas engines do?

  • isnt it hard to get ahold of ether nowadays?

  • is it REGULAR diesel or a special blend?

  • @RFTAEC100 Hi, it's a special blend, not that kind of Diesel fuel used in "regular size" engines. It contains kerosene (petroleum), diethyl ether, and oil (castor oil or synthetic)

    Greetings

  • @bratte68 Could you tell me the cuantities?

  • amost sounds like a four cycle, but probably two right?

  • @ostralopithicus : it's a four stroke - laser engines builds no other types ;-)

  • do thay do a boat engine like this sounds better than them nitro engines

  • Nice sound, very throaty!

  • Sounds a tad over-compressed n'est pas?

  • Do you have any different experiences with this engine? The engine was run at lowes possible compression. It seems to be special for a bit "larger" four stroke model diesels (i also own an ENYA 41-4CD; it sounds similar). Maybe it is possible to change the fuel mixture...i have to run some experiments. If it was a small two stroke engine, I would say too, that it sounds not only a tad over compressed.

  • Is that tapping noise the diesel knock?

  • In the owners manual it is written: while accelerating you can hear the "diesel knock".

The engine was run at the lowest possible compression setting.

  • Sounds awsome !!! I wish my savage sounded like that

  • Very nice engine. Sehr nett motoren.

Would makes the engine, Wo cann ich finden dieser motoren.

  • Diesel engine on 2% nitro?

What prop size and rpm did you achieve?

  • Hi, this is not the same "nitro" as used in glow engines. It is amyl nitrite - this is the kind of nitro used in diesels. The standard nitromethane used in glow engines would not solve and mix with the diesel fuel, which contains ether, kerosene and castor oil. The prop used is a 16x6 APC. The estimated peak RPM is 5500.

  • Isn't amyl nitrate the stuff some people sniff (previous a drug for treating heart trouble)?

  • Yes, that's right - it is called "poppers" and can be abused. this is a cause, why the fuel only should be handled with good ventlillation or outdoors. The ether contained in the fuel also can be dangerous.
