  • Godflesh rip-off!!!

  • Comment removed

  • O M G

  • sounds like pitchshifter to me.....

  • sounds like suicide

  • awesome music video to an awesome song.

found the 9 track version of the Submit CD at a record shop (along with EB's Silence Is Sexy) during a trip I went on.

  • The best song of PS

  • If anything it sounds most like Fear Factory.

    "We love you pitchshifter"

  • Sounds like Godflesh

  • @HatredPrime Godflesh sounds like SWANS.

  • Fantastic.

  • I will tell anyone how to download the Submit album if you just message me. :D

  • This song - or pitchshifter in general for that matter - sound nothing like Korn, but cmon guys, quit hating on other bands. I'm sure we can all agree that it is important to respect other tastes. Besides, Korn and Pitchshifter are completely different genres, so you can't create a comparison... You can't sa pitchshifter sounds like Korn since they came out earlier. ugh.. It's like Ministry and Rammstein all over again, except this is dumber cause they're diff types of music. Respect the bands!!

  • ahh...the 90s...before autotune, there was pitchshifting :D

  • Make sure you visit Pitchshifter's website. New album due 2012!

  • @IRideExpedition

Both yes and no...it's Pitch Shifter ;)

  • Pitchshifter before they become "Pitch Shitter".

  • I had tickets to see Pitchshifter at the Camden Underworld about '92, got there for the gig & they had all their equipment nicked so didn't play! Still gutted 19 years later!

  • @IRideExpedition This is old Pitchshifter. They changed their sound several times, their newer stuff sounds like an entirely different band

  • i came here because i like this song, no reason i just like it! cheers for the upload

  • probably the only band to build strong walls on the foundation of Godflesh. instead of copying brodrick and company they took that aesthetic and forged on into entirely new and individual territory. this album STILL stands as a milestone in the evolution of agressive music with it's own voice and style.

  • Pitchshifter, who later became "Pitch Shifter", in my opinion started off great with releases like "Industrial" and "Submit", then started incorperating Drum N' Bass stuff with Industrial, which I still liked very much, from Densensitized to Remix Wars to Infotainment?. After that when J.S. Clayton changed his vocals to try and sing, it just didn't work..., should've kept the rough gruff vocals. P.S. Pitchshifter's early sound does have Godflesh influences, but Pitchshifter had catcher sounds

  • @Alorsous Pitch Shifter later became Pitchshifter

  • I saw this band in Poland many years ago. The concert was amazing, but I can't find a video of this concert, and I remember that someone recorded.

  • Godflesh..

  • @finallistl No. Korn kinda sounds like this. Except that they don't. As great as the first few Korn albums were, they're nowhere near to this.

  • Fantastic band, I have all their stuff! Love Scorn too!

  • -Warning Spam- Adam Grossman's SKREW has returned. Video of their performance at Red 7, click my name to see it. The lead vocalist looks a little noobish. but it is a killer song.

  • called "Microwave" on the UFO level, and before long I learn that it's Pitch Shifter! Talk about a drastic change of music direction! I far prefer their more death/doom industrial grindcore sound (in fact, my copy of Industrial carries a "Grindcore Marketing International" label), but their more commercially successful sound isn't too bad, really. I wonder if they ever play any songs from their first two albums at their shows anymore.

  • I got into this band when the album on which this song appears, Submit, was new, in 1992. I quickly snatched up their first CD, Industrial, and picked up Desensitized when it was released in 1993. They then released a remix CD in which Therapy? collaborated, and I liked that, but I wasn't impressed with their next CD, Infotainment, in 1996, and lost track of subsequent albums by the band. Fast forward to 2000, I'm playing Twisted Metal 3, and hear this more commercial industrial rock song

  • @finallistl wjere on earth did you get that from?

  • me encantan!!

  • Mistrz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that the lead singer of the bezerker?

  • This song rocks and makes a lot of industrial type bands look like they where actually happy. saw them opening for carcass on this tour and as much as i like carcass they blew them off the stage

  • People were fucking angry in the 1990s! You just don't get such grim videos anymore.

  • @Mattyd242 I prefer their early record over the later ones from some reason;the vocals have turned in my opinion a bit too punky but nontheless they still nail the guitar riffs and synths. The irony;I was born in 1993 and now that I feel just as angry as they felt back then I can't really enjoy it together with them.It feels so crot i donno,to grow up with an artists progress

  • Fucking love this song!

  • Do they have any other songs that sound like this?

  • @DarkZero310 Yeah, "Industrial".

  • @DarkZero310 Err, what i mean is, check out any song from their album "Industrial".

  • @DarkZero310 As well as the album Submit. Bastardizer, Gritter, Eye etc. Everything from Industrial and Submit.

  • badass kinda ministry

  • Thumbs up, great song

  • they were an amazing band that was way ahead of thier time

  • @FallenAngel8315

haha microwaved is a good example and when people here or read the lyrics they get dissapointed because it's something they don't want to hear but Pitchshifter's music is the truth

  • EPIC!!!!!

  • Its so good, man ... the memories :)

  • no matter what era of the band, pitchshifter is awesome.

  • this band are the forefront of metal/dance crossover i dont care who u compare them to there is only 1 pitchshifter!!!!!

  • Plus if I were forced to try to compere Pitchshifter to anything, that would probably be Treponem Pal (from the bands I listened) - thanks to their very spacious guitars and monumental style

  • anyone who knew them in 1991 would know how they emulated Godflesh. In their first album pic, marc is wearing a Head of David shirt!

  • @kriseye sorry mate but I'm not buying it. They might have been influenced by Godflesh (among other bands) but not "emulated" them. Their music is completely different. "industrial" imo beat everthing and actuallly created a subgenre. It's much more spacious and clean than Godflesh. Both of these bands deserve respect but are different

  • jejj yeahhh valla encuentro otra banda con rudeza

  • super!!!!!!!!!!

  • the name of the band obviously comes from the pitchshifting guitar pedals the band used .when i saw them live in wrexham memorial 1991-1992 they had shit loads of pedals and relied verty heavily on the octave shifter or (pitch shifting pedals from boss)shit hot early albums

  • and its alwaysss the same

  • Ah this naming is confusion. Obviously "Pitch Shifter" is not the same as "PItchshifter" :P!

And no, these guys don't sound much like Korn at all. Maybe a little instrumentally, and OCCASIONALLY vocally, but meh...

  • Anyone got the chords for this song?

  • They are easy to find if you listen carefully.

  • THIS DOES NOT SOUND LIKE KORN YOU IDIOT

  • oh dear....who the fuck.....agreeed lol

  • lol

  • this band is the best of Grindcore. nice effects

  • This came out before Korn was formed or recorded. No offense their Chief.

  • ^This.

Also, Bence is correct. No way in hell is this grind. Industrial FTW.

  • really are you deaf? this doesnt even sounds a single bit like korn.

  • the people that think this sounds like korn, arent true metal fans, just ignore them XD

  • What...!? Do you (playpsp8) realy think that PitchShifter sounds like Korn!?!? There is something wrong with your hearing...seriously !?

  • uh this sounds nothing like Korn, it sounds like Godflesh/Head of David/killing Joke sort of stuff

  • After the '' Submit '' album,Pitchshifter is not so RAW anymore !? That BOSS Dr.660 Drum Computer is kick ass...You hear that '' thing '' also on the first Album '' Industrial ''.

  • rulz

  • love this sound, very unique

  • esta bn chingon seeeeeeee

  • Love the double bass kick, makes me nod.

  • yeah .q perro el lanzallamas

  • They sound fuckin GOOD!

  • que chingon see

  • yep, i got this tape haha after seeing them on head bangers ball....

  • pitchifter is twisted metal

  • these guys took godflelsh and ran with it.

  • This is my first time listening to Pitchshifter and i still dont no why people say these guys are similar to Pendulum... I dont see it, even in there newer stuff oh well these guys are alright and Pendulum are awesome.

  • This is early Pitchshifter, where they were a bit more extreme. Listen to 8 days, or Dead Battery.

I cannae stand Pendulum I'm afraid.

  • I know u wanted to say the opposite... Pitch are AWESOME and Pend are good

  • This is nothing compared to Pendulum :|

  • For the love of god, tell me you're joking.

  • fckin great , pitch shifter at its best, should continue this way...

  • god damnd this band rocks so well. it's stunning that this song is from 92. i was 3 years old in 92. but it only takes 3 more years and i was addicted in this kind of musik.

great song - great band - great sound

  • they kind of suck actually...

  • you kind of suck actually

liking music is based on a matter of opinion

  • Finally another person on the internet who gets subjectivity.

  • These guys were great. It's what Pendulum WISH they could sound like

  • if you like this, listen to "(a higher form of) killing" off their desensitized album. kind of in the same vane but just as catchy

  • Worst song? Nope. You just don't understand industrial metal.

  • Disturbed? don't make me laugh! they wouldnt even exist if Pitch Shifter never existed!

  • Disturbed is not even in the same vein...maybe Static-X and Meshuggah, but not Disturbed...these guys were so ahead of thier time!

  • This song is from an album (Submit) that came out in 1992 - Disturbed didn't record The Sickness til 1999...

  • @gk3coloursred Man, love that album...Still have the vinyl, no record player though :D

  • @gk3coloursred yeah but Disturbed blows my balls.

  • this is sick - love it

  • there present stuff its okay, the lyrics are good and say something but the music hahaha just ruins it, damn i miss there older stuff sorta like the old Godflesh but faster

  • yea i agree sadx777.i think submit was their best album.

  • Sort of, I guess. I don't think they're that similar, but I like both.

  • The PS albums "Submit" & "Industrial" are similar to some Godflesh. Everything after that is completely different...

  • The only thing Godflesh ever did that I liked was "Like Rats." I saw them open up for someone else, Carcass maybe, and fell asleep it sucked so badly.

  • Godflesh require an open mind

  • Or shitty taste in music.

  • Closeminded metalheads have no credibility.

Before you stop sucking Pitch Shifters ass it may surpise you that hell of alot of Metal bands owe alot to Godflesh, Pitch Shifter worshiped Godflesh.

If you don't like GF fine, but saying they sucked is like saying trees suck because there brown.

  • I no longer consider myself a metalhead so don't bother to make any assumptions about me.

If metal bands liked GF, that's fine, but that has no impact on me. I don't because their music was pure drudgery, noise for the sake of noise. If I want to hear disorganized shit with no structure, I'll listen to Einsturzende Neaubaten.

I also fucking hate the Beatles. Wanna make something of that, too?

  • I don't care if you dislike the beatles.

You clearly have never listened to Godflesh.

Protip: don't run into battle without a weapon

  • Well, you certainly care if I don't like GF, and yes I did listen to them and found each song to be more of a directionless mess than the one before.

  • Earlier posts just said you listened to

Like Rats and then you fell asleep.

Simply say you don't like them, insted using childlike slurs.

  • Keep up. I said the only thing they did that I liked was "Like Rats." I also said I saw them when they opened for another band and it was at that time I fell asleep.

A childlike slur (not that the term slur fits here, insult works much better) would be something like "I don't like them because they don't sound anything like Korn."

  • Actually its more like saying there mindless and boring.

  • Okay, Godflesh is mindless and boring.

  • Thats a personal Opinion, you lose

  • They were your words, not mine.

  • They were your words, not mine.

  • ScreamingCim: "Actually its more like saying there (sic) mindless and boring."

  • Yep, and I stand by my words.

  • That wasn't logical critism, that was a rant.

  • **YAWN**

  • Yawn all you want

  • I was watching a Godflesh video.

  • Oh.. but this a a Pitch Shifter video, told you PS copied there sound

  • It's their, not there.

  • Do you plan on crawling at my feet any longer?

  • This is the only post in which you didn't have a spelling, punctuation, or grammatical error, so clean up your own back yard before you knock on my door.

  • they dont make videos like this anymore. good video and song.

  • Didn't care for their older stuff but it's all right, in my opinion.

  • by far their best abum imo.

  • this song by farrrrrrr there best

    its fucking awesome

and yer there new shit is SHIT

  • well said xxsmashleighxx.i agree gritter was their best album.p.s.i. and i think deconstruction was ok but didn't have a chance against gritter.its ashame they changed.

  • Gritter was a song, not an album. It was on Submit. This was their best era, without doubt.

  • their new stuff is just a piece of shit. their old material is a godflesh ripp off, but it rules anyway.

  • I think there can't help being some similarities between the two, both being in the same genre and labelmates. Overall, I don't think they sound much like GF at all. GF is slow, plodding, and doesn't really go anywhere, whereas PS changes tempo, speed, and direction in the same song.

  • 13.06-14.06 Pitchshifter Estonia,Järvakandi RABAROCK

  • I love their new stuff as well as their old. Pitchshifter needs to get back together for real.

  • Awsome video...Pitch shift rulez!!!

  • Yeah, these guys are awesome. And I do agree they kinda lost this intensity with later releases. It was all still good but the early stuff was the best. And really, ahead of its time. Pitch Shifter Remix Wars is really good too. METAL TILL DEAD!

  • Desensitized and Industrial, well those two are with Submit, very good albums. I think the downhill started with the next album, after these 3. Sad,though,Desensitized is for me one of the favorite of all time.

  • cool video- they went downhill after this

  • the early stuff by Depressor sounds a lot like the early stuff by this band... Christdriver as well. I think this band is second only to Metallica as being one of the best bands who turned into one of the worst!

  • Ur RIGHT!!!

  • Classy stuff.

    Old style grind pitchshifter.

I got both those puncture albums, they are just like this and are both ace. They are reforming and doing a new album! check their myspace!

I got Submit, Industrial, PSI, pitchshifter, infotainment and deviant. The older stuff is better.

  • Really?!? I'll have to look them up when I have time. I hope they tour in Denver. I didn't really thing anyone else had heard of Puncture. I bought the first album, not thinking it would be that good, but I love it, especially "Youth Gone Mild." Do you know who the the voice is talking about juvenile deliquency in the background?

Since you and I like the same type of shit, what else is good in this vein?

  • Yeah great band and some grinding industrial metal. I have no idea who the voice is mate. hmm other bands like this, I would say:-

Bile, Godflesh, Ministry, Global Noise Attack, Chemlab, H3llb3nt, Haloblack, Pig, Evil Mothers, KMFDM, Fear Factory, Carbon 12, Misery Loves Company, Nailbomb...to name a few I have anyway.

  • The man's voice is The Amazing Criswell, a friend of movie-maker Ed Wood's. He was a "psychic" known for his wildly inaccurate predictions. The dialog, I believe, is from Wood's The Violent Years, a seriously hokey attempt at addressing juvenile deliquency.

  • I don't care for Godflesh, and I've heard of KMFDM, Nailbomb, Pig, and Fear Factory. Do you dig crust, specifically Misery?

  • Cool.

I like crust but have not heard of Misery. Are they on myspace? Will go have a look. LOL. Didnt Ed Wood make really bad films? Rock on dude.

  • Also check out Puncture. They put out two albums and broke up in '99, but still good shit today.

  • Pitchshifter, Ministry, Scorn, Meathook Seeds, great bands guys, hard to find stuff like this nowadays.

  • How about Soulstorm? They're very death metal based, but use a drum machine. Heavy as hell.

  • alot of bands changed alot when theyve been around for awhile.................

  • SICK

  • Pitchshifter fucked Ministry......and some

  • to me this was the only good pitchshifter album, i loved the first one more than any others, and a great video done by videocore

  • This is from Submit, Pitch Shifter's second album; their first album was Industrial. I liked Desensitized and that album with Desensitized remixes by Biohazard and Therapy, but their sound changed quite drastically after that, and I'm afraid it wasn't for the better.

  • was jason bowld playing drums on this track ?

  • The music is savage not so keen on his early singing style but still good

  • pitch shifter evolved, and you didn't

  • Pitch Shifter died after Infortainment album in 1996.

Wtf happened to them after tat album? Aliens abducted their brains out?? Damn them!

  • The Gtr player left and took anything worth saving with them. Yeah the first 3 Albums were life changing for me. After that it didn't just get bad...it was EMBARASSING!
